1. That's a real beauty. I've never tried a Roscoe, how heavy is the bass please? Any suggestions welcome on how to make a case for having 4 or 5 fretless basses to the finance committee .
2. Not on the list, but how about one of these? Obviously we'd need to find ACG owners near you. http://www.acguitars...graft-j-type-5/
3.
One of my favourite films - when I saw it again recently after many years, I realised how much of the dialog has sunk into my common lexicon. (ditto Tom Hanks' 'Bachelor Party') Katy: I think l'm in love with a retard Boon: is he bigger than me?
My favourite, and one much abused where I was working at the time was Niedermier to Flounder: "A pledge pin...on your uniform. Drop and give me 20". Or something like that.
4.
And of course he was the bass player in Otis Day and the Knights in National Lampoons Animal House.
I did not know this Great film and a while since I've watched it. Must dust off the VHS at the weekend.
5. I've alway been curious about the BB1500A basses, they seem to tick a lot of boxes in the Super Jazz category.

Slide....(well it's a fretless bass)
7. I've had a couple of BBN5s, nice basses, well put together I think.
8. Yup, it's a question of fitting in with schedules.
9. Scott is a top bloke. I am having some lessons from him atm.
10. What do all the controls do? Couldn't find anything much on t'interweb, but I may not have been searching for the right thing.
11. I've just bought a book of Yes transcriptions as I felt that I needed to push myself a bit. Starship Trooper here I come...
12. That all seems to be the concensus Carl.

Yes, thanks for reminding me!
14. As somebody who really doesn't get on with Fenders, I think it would be a tragedy if they did disappear as they are no doubt an iconic brand and responsible for a lot of good things generally. I agree with most of the above on the confusing model line-up, and the Fender logo being on the USA instruments only. FWIW I would also say that having set the benchmark for playable basses, they seem to just be trading off that without any real innovation. The number of Super Jazzes and the like that the boutique guys build must surely have been noticed at FMIC. Why don't they do some proper R&D and develop the next icon?
15. I'm slowly drifting towards two fretless and two fretted basses; each pair being somewhat different, be it construction or electronics and pickups for as much variety as possible. That feels about right to me, but I gues YMMV Atm I have three fretless and one fretted so decision point is approaching as the second fretted ACG is in build now...
16. Follwoing the thread above and having a read around, I went with a stacked knob set up, but from Kiogon on here. The caps were tailored to deliver a more 'Jaco' sound from the bridge and a more 'Jameson' sound from the neck pickup. I rather liked the set up as it does give you more options if you chose the R/C values properly. My personal preference is for the ACG/Dingwall 3-knob approach with a 4-way switch, volume and tone. Add in a couple of o/wound single coil pickups and you have some great options.
17.
.... My advice would be to keep one bass secreted away just in case .... Best of luck whatever you choose to do
Sad to hear. Of all the lovely basses you have, you have to keep the Dolphin.
18.
That is an absolute bargain for a Custom bass of this quality.
I refer to my earlier comment; this time 'in spades'. What an opportunity for some lucky person.
19. Thanks for the link. My personal fav is CTTE, first LP I ever bought.
20. A solid four. All ACGs; three fretless and one fretted. One further fretted ACG in build.
21. Met up with Andy to trade ACGs with a bit of cash from me. Really top bloke and as has been said many times above, Andy's a great guy to deal with. Thanks very much.
