1. I think that looks very well done. Not normally a fan of these but I'm on the website now!
2. For me a 4003 Jetglo Rickenbacker. Saved for well over a year, then found it really uncomfortable to play. Devastating - although in the context of global problems midly disappointing is probably about right.
3. Just looking at preamping a J type bass but looking for something a bit different. I noticed that you can get an Audere unit that has 3 stacked pots: Master vol./tone; neck vol./bridge vol.; treble bass. Any body have any experience of this kind of set up? It's bit different from the vol./blend stack!
4. ...and of course his work in Dali's Car with that singer chappy from Bauhaus.

We should start a 'show us your Afgan coat' thread. Mine disappeared in very myterious cicumstances when we moved; my parents denied all knowledge.
6. For sale is my BTB-02 lightly used unit that is barely a month old. I'm selling as I'm going to upgrade to the full treatment. Really nice unit with treble/bass stack and a pull bright function too. Easy to install as the 02 version has screw terminals so minimal soldering. Plenty of information here: http://www.east-uk.c...les/btb-01.html These units are £90 new for chrome and a bit more for black knob option. Selling for £65 posted for the BTB with East chrome stacked knobs, but if you want black East stacked knobs with the BTB that will be £69 posted. I also have some vintage looking chrome knobs to blend in the knurled and domed look if you prefer those.. Battery clip included. Happy to provide pics if you would like some, or answer any questions.
7. What about all us prog fans without iPads clearly discrimination against flared trousers and tie-dye T-shirts. In fact I think we need a survey as to how many prog fans own iPads - we should be told!
8.
Excellent, someone is going to be very happy.
Yes indeed. Glad it's gone, as I was starting to think about funding followed by explanations to Mrs ead
9. All the BCers I have met so far have been top boys and girls, and embarassingly better at playing than me.
10. As someone who has never been described as cool, I wear my bass for max comfort over a gig or practice
11. I love this bass. I am biased of course, but you really can't overlook the craftmanship that goes into ACG instruments and this bass represents outstanding value for money.
12. According to Boy George and Call Me Dave we will be feeling the pain for at least 5 more years, so that may well have an effect on prices too. On a more chearful note, we shouldn't worry as "we're all in this together", us and all the other Eton educated, multi-millionaires that make up our nation's glorious leadership.
13. I think you should do what your heart tells you. I have absolutely no experience of anything other than the bottom end of the Fender Inc. output so can offer no other words of wisdom (assuming I have any wisdom of course).
14. The blues scale always sounds nice to my ears.
15. Something like this maybe? They seem to go for not much at all given the pedigree. I used to own one of the Contemporary J basses from the Overwater by Tanglewood range and it was a very good quality bass. 16. So many choices available, more so if you buy preloved. Any thoughts on your budget?
17. I had this one, a Vintage V1004SPFL until my ACG fretless was ready and really enjoyed it. Nice and light with a good range of tones, about £450ish new iirc, but great value second hand. There's a review of the fretted version on here.
18. Pardon my ignorance, but what's a greasebucket?
19. I might be very tempted by a pre-loved top end Ibanez SR 4-string.
