I've never really tried one for any length of time, but they do seem to have a hard-core following. The ones that I have seen in the flesh looked well made and sounded pretty good so they must definitely be a contender (at the right price I guess). From my perspective the best value basses I have owned are probably a Peavey Zephyr (£125 for an immaculate neck through bass), and an Antoria Jazz I acquired for £100, although it did get a refinish and a Kiogon wiring harness to replace old slightly knackered one.

Live dangerously, try something else I am particularly enjoying the D'Addario balanced tension sets at the moment, nickel so a bit warmer but are still nice and bright and the lower strings have a real piano like quality to them.

Out of interest where does the Thumpinator work best? Just before the amp seems to do it for me but I've not played extensively with this aspect.

They have also played for a number of other artists as their backing band.

I have to say that whenever I sought assistance from the BC hive it has been supplied in abundance. I do think the gear in members sigs is a useful indication as to that person's background too though. Having said that it is quite amusing when you do a search on a particular topic and come across a bunch of posts about a bass saying 'it's a keeper' etc. how often the bass in question is no longer in the sig

Yup, In Rock for me, but only because a lot of the early Led Zep was very blues infused.

I never quite got Rainbow. For me it would be Deep Purple In Rock, or possible the first Sabbath album.
