What's the next collectable on the second hand marketthen?
ead replied to la bam's topic in General Discussion
Don't forget inflation folks. £300 in 1966 (about the price of a Fender bass I think) is worth about £5,800 today. -
Standard E and Standard Eb in the Same Set? - How Would You Do It?
ead replied to Sean's topic in General Discussion
As has been said above two basses or, if there are likely to be variations something like the Digitec drop pedal that allows you to change pitch in multiple semitone intervals and has an octaver function. -
NOW SOLD For sale is pedal that I bought but never got around to using so it’s like new. It will come in the original box with the basic instruction leaflet and a suitable padded carry bag that I bought for it but also never used. I’d be happy to answer any questions or take more pictures if there is a detail you would like to see more of.

This is a delightful and upgraded Japanese-built high quality Precision bass. This one has had a few subtle upgrades to make it an excellent gigging and recording bass: The upgrades are as follows: The neck has been lightly sanded for a super-smooth feel and is really good to get around on A new aftermarket tort pickguard has been fitted by the previous owner (I don't have the original). Note that this has resulted in a few extra holes under the pickguard. KiOgon loom fitted The bass comes fitted with some nicely run in GHS Pressure Wound strings and will come with a decent padded gig bag. In the pics the bass has speed dial knobs on, but I will put the chrome ones it came to me with back on for sale. It’s a lovely instrument and weighs just over 8½lbs by my scales (3.9kgs). It’s a gigging workhorse and great as a main bass or backup. This is a fantastic bass and has some real mojo. There are some minor cosmetic dings and marks but nothing structural. These are very difficult to picture on a black bass. If you’d like me to have another go, please just ask. In short, Japanese quality with serious upgrades. If this bass wasn’t so good, it would have not had the use it has had. Only for sale as arthritis is starting to badly impact my playing so slowly (and painfully) getting rid of my gear that I have accumulated over the years. Collection or meet up preferred but I have packaging so I can post this.

SOLD ELSEWHERE I stumbled across this in my spares box when I was have a bit of a sort out at the weekend. I think it's brand new as I have no recollection of using it. I think it fits a number of SBMM, Stingrays and OLP basses. The key dimension being the 70mm between the pickguard screws. Plenty of info on the company website: https://www.zero-mod.com/models.html Here are a couple of pics for you. Thanks for stopping by:

Short scale, 19mm spacing and 24 frets, does such a thing exist?

If you can find one how about a Fenix SH? -
I had the MC pickups and DFM pre in a fretless 5er that has sadly had to go due to my arthritis. They are a heavenly match and give you so many options to choose from. Highly recommended.

Apologies, nothing much to offer on this topic.

Is it just me that feels that this bass needs to be cut from the sprues like Airfix plastic model kits?

Joel has just acquired an effects pedal from. What a thoroughly decent bloke he is. Excellent comms., super swift payment and an all round very pleasurable transaction. Thanks very much.

Battery Connectors - Isn't it time someone came up with a better way?
ead replied to snorkie635's topic in General Discussion
My ACGs all had them in, with the honourable exception of the Graft series that had battery space inside the control cavity with clips. -

My active basses have a simple flip up battery box that you just open, lift the old battery out, insert the new battery and close. Very effective. -
Loving this thread and chuckling away at some of the tales. Disappointingly I have nothing like this to contribute

It's in the diary Rob, not sure what I'll be bring yet as I've move a fair few basses on due to some arthritis problems in my hands. I have found a massager thingy which is helping though, which is good (but maybe less so for the listening public). I can't find last year's thread, possibly not searching for the right thing. Can anyone point the way please? Alain

Warmoth Medium Scale P, EMG Geezer Butler pickups NOW £350

The Silver Series used the same 40mm nut width neck for both the P and J basses. I can't recall the exact profile, but it wasn't chunky in any way.
-
It really is. The new Graft basses have all been amazing instruments.
-
Some of the later Japanese Squiers had narrower necks and are shockingly good value. Pretty sure that there's a Silver Series P bass on here that is nicely run in and has a 40mm nut. It used to be mine.

Hi folks, more stuff from the spares draw that needs to find a good home. Here's a brand new and unopened set of the Geezer Butler P/J pickups. These are all passive no no battery required; save yourself several squids on buying them new from a store. £105 inc. P&P to UK mainland. These are the beasties: https://www.emgpickups.com/bass/pj-models/gzr-pj.html
