1. For sale is my cherished Spector Bass. The instrument was purchased in 2006 from this very forum (well at least one of its predecessors) and is my first "proper" bass. It is in excellent condition having been well looked after and carefully stored in hard cases. There are some very light scratches on the back but it's hard to get them to show up in the photos. The bass is in excellent working order and has been regularly professionally set up during its time here. It is reluctantly for sale due to pressures of space and an imposed one-in-one-out policy! The general specification is as follows:

Original NS curved, carved body
Quilted maple top
Spector heavy duty locking bridge
24 fret 3-ply rock maple neck with rosewood fingerboard
34” scale
Passive EMG-HZ P & J pickups
EMG 3-band active EQ tone circuit
Basswood body
Bolt-on neck secured with 5 bolts
Recently professionally set up and re-strung with Rotosound nickel round wound strings
I'll include a heavily padded quality Westfield Deluxe bass gig bag with the bass. I’m always happy to answer any questions. I have tried to show the details of the bass in the images, but please ask if you would like any specific close-ups and I’ll do my best to oblige. I'm looking for £175 ono and would prefer not to post if at all possible. 2. Geoff has bought a Boss LMB-3 from me. Fast payment, plenty of communication. top banana - recommended.
3. Any resonable offers considered. I think it's going to be put on evil bay tonight.
4. For sale is my Fast Track that I acquired from absolutemusic.co.uk some months ago. After trying it out for a week or so I decided that it was not what I sought and put it back in its box in the cupboard. So now fund raising to satisfy some GAS! Just realised that I forgot to take a pic of the USB lead and software (they were in the box) so feel free to ask and I'll happily take some more pics of those items or the device itself.
5. For sale my LMB-3 pedal that I bought from a BC member a little while back, tried it out and then promptly stored it carefully in a cupboard. As you can see fom the pics and the pristine nature of the rubber pad on the pedal it's had an easy life! If you would like any more pics etc please just ask. Thanks for looking.
6. Here's the first draft of page 1...
7.
I very cleverly play unconventional "surprise" notes, and sometimes play slightly off the beat too.......
Me too as a result of attending the Eric Morecambe school of bass. How we laughed when I played a different song to the other three for a few bars...
8. Cheers guys, very helpful, I'll see if I can find one near here to plug in to.
9. Ideally £200-250 tops unless there's something unmissable for a little more!
10. I'm looking for a highly portable combination for doing "accoustic" gigs with the band. When we're in full electric mode I use one of the GK MB500 amps into a 1x15 and 2x10 set up. However rather than lumping stuff around un-necessarily I was contemplating some additional lighter gear. My thoughts were around a small combo say 50-75W of looking for a v small cab to plug the MB500 into. What would be worth considering (can't afford a Minimark sadly!). Many thanks...
11. I will contemplate a bass version incorporating all of the above, but I'll have to squeeze it onto A0 paper. Alternatively I might just do a simpler one

Oh YES!

Missed the first 45 mins of the gig, but I was there anyway! Looking forward to the documentary when I get home tonight...
13. Any views on Fly From Here? Personally I like it although I need to track down the version that never made it onto Drama...
14. I'm afraid I dont' recollect who owned it but there was a Ric with black everything that I deeply coveted.
15.
Off to see yes at Colston Hall, Bristol on Wednesday. I may sound like a bit of an anorak but I will have seen every UK tour since 1968.
Good man. I'd be lying if I said all of them, but I've attended quite a lot of them myself.
16. Saw them in Manchester on Sunday. Great show, with possible over-progginess in Fly from here with CS doing the if-Steve-can-have-a-guitar-on-a-stand-then-I-want-a-bass-on-a-stand-too Set list from Manchester: Yours Is No Disgrace Tempus Fugit I've Seen All Good People Life on a Film Set And You And I Steve Solo-Solitaire Fly From Here Wondrous Stories Into the Storm Heart of the Sunrise Starship Trooper Encore - Roundabout Bliss....
17. Some of my personal favs (I make no apologies for being a proghead ): La Gazza Ladra - Marillion Seconds Out - Genesis Atlanta - Porcupine Tree A New Day Yesterday - Joe Bonamassa and of course Yessongs
18. I've seen BA55 AMP that I understand is Ashdown related?
19. Also pick your songs carefully. Our 4-piece became a 3-piece for a year or so and I found it very enjoyable/scary in equal measures. Doesn't half make you think about what you play and when you play it! When's your next gig? I'll come along if possible...
20. My Spector Legend 4 was my first non-very-low-budget bass and has been gigged for about 5-6 years now. I've just acquired a Warwick Corvette Std (from c. 2009, Bubinga body, Ovangkol neck, made in Germany) strung with flats (from a Basschat member). This is a beautiful bass and the neck is definitely slimmer than the Spector. Which do I prefer? Very hard to say. As they both sound different I tend to alternate - sorry a complete cop out there!
21. Are we not in danger of identifying bassists not only because of tone/style/sound etc but by the song. To prove the fact I think a blind audition of recordings of all the above playing the same songs in a variety of genres. Then we'd know.
22. First impressions are excellent. It's strung with flats and has a really deep creamy sound. Very promising!
23. Just acquired a Warwick Corvette Std from mojobass. Great bass, top bloke and good communications. Everything went very smoothly and I'd definitely buy from him again!
