1. We play a mix of original material and covers in (predominantly) the Burnely area. We choose to play once or twice a month max and so far so good this year. We used to get £150 on average, but now it's dropped to C £100
2. Is there a material difference between an MM and a Humbucker?

7.
.......The MM/J arrangement is very versatile, especially when you have a coiltap on the MM (like mine)............... ..............An active/passive option might be worth thinking about as well(like mine). Nige
Thanks people. I'm not clear about what a coil tap is and does so would welcome some help there. Also what do you gain from an active/passive option? I have a couple of passive instruments and one active (Spector PJ) bass, but as they all have different pickup combinations it's not easy to make a direct comparison.

Please get in touch, may be able to sort something out!
9. I'm absolutely average at playing bass...actually I'm probably not that good
10. Just having quite a severe attack of GAS looking at the Overwater Aspiration basses in BGM (tempered by what I could afford), but I'm not sure what a combination of MM/J bass might sound like. Any thoughts/experiences out there?
11. Just like buses, nothing for ages then 3 at once...lapolpora's earlier post reminded me that I have a brand new completely unused set of the same 25dB filters. Seems selfish to keep them when they are not used by me (originally purchased in error as I use ER-15s).

My Peavey BXP Cirrus 5 (bubinga top) bought a few months ago in order to learn to play 5-string basses is very sadly up for sale due to me being a public sector worker now facing redundancy – but it’s OK as I’m hugely reassured by multi-millionaires Dave and George saying we’re all in this together. Now equipped with brand new D'addario strings and professionally set up done by Bolton Luthier Phil Hartley, the bass is in “as new” condition having been used a few times at home for practice purposes only. I’m looking for around £300 for this immaculate instrument. I have initially shown a general photo but will be more than happy to supply any pictures you may require. I’ve a decent camera and can hopefully show prospective buyers some good detail. The eagled eyed amongst you will notice that the strings in the picture are not D'addarios! This is because I took some pictures before the bass went to the luthiers (just in case). (I am sadly and very reluctantly selling my Rickenbacker 4003 too, please see my other listing if you are interested). I would prefer collection only as I've had bad courier experiences in the past. I’m happy to travel a reasonable to distance to exchange the item for cash or further afield with modest re-imbursement of my fuel costs.

This bass is reluctantly, and very sadly, up for sale due to me being in a public sector worker now facing redundancy – but it’s OK as I’m hugely reassured by multi-millionaires Dave and George saying we’re all in this together. (I’ve a Peavey BPX Cirrus 5 up for sale too, please see my other post if you are interested.) The Rick is in great condition having been very well looked after and used for practice only in a smoke free home. I have initially shown only a few photos but will be more than happy to supply any pictures you may require. I’ve a decent camera and can hopefully show prospective buyers some good detail. Looking around at prices, I believe that £1,350 would be a fair price for this beautiful guitar. I put on a brand new set of Rickenbacker Nickel strings two months ago. There is one very small scratch on the rear and a tiny chip in the black paintwork, hopefully shown in the picture. The bass is serial number 0626117 (June/July 2006) and has always been transported in its RIC hard case. The case is in good condition but there is a crack around one foot that I have repaired and a smaller one at the other end (see pictures). All the catches work perfectly but the key for the lock has sadly gone missing. The original unused cleaning cloth is included. Due to the value of the item I would prefer collection only. I’m happy to travel a reasonable to distance to exchange the item for cash or further afield with modest re-imbursement of my fuel costs. I'm based in Lancashire. 16. Mike bought some pickups from me. Excellent guy, quick payment and great communications. Happy to trade with him at any time. Alain
17. Anybody want to make me an offer? (please!)
18. Does all this mean that my trusty Legend 4 with 3-band EQ is now a poor relation?
19. Hi all These are from the bass that I recently upgraded so hopefully some use for a self build project and are in very good condition. If you would like any pics please let me know. They are on evilbay too: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT
20. This Charming Man and Saw Her Standing There. Plus working on a prog bass part for a friend's bassistless project...
21. We have just had out PAT testing done by: http://www.pattestingman.co.uk/ 01706 829000 We are based in Chorley (Lancs) and I can highly recommend this guy who was punctual, and at £23 for the band (2 guitars, bass, PA and some lighting) was very reasonable I think.
