Very much enjoyed the Manchester gig last night. Maiden on form and good energy. Isn't there some law somewhere that says the must play Run To The Hills and the Ancient Mariner at gigs? Sadly Airbourne were really not for me although I enjoyed some of their songs froma couple of years ago, it didn't really seem to spark last night. The sound balance was also out (same problems as noted above).

I first saw Iron Maiden in Genoa when they were supporting Kiss. Must have been 1978 or so. Off to the Manchester gig next week after a gap of 23 years since I last saw live...
Those internal pots (square blue with white centres) are individual pickup output levels aren't they ? Will be interesting to see what tweaking them does to the overall tone.
I'm not sure. I asked OW for some guidance and was advised that a PDF to explain the EQ system would appear on the website but I've not seen it yet.

Just for the record here are the inner workings of my Contemp Jazz 4...
... I have made a few little changes to mine that cost less than £100 in total (black hipshot tuners and control knobs, just to make mine a bit more personal!) ...
Loving the black hardware. I've a black 4-string and something similar would look good...I think the OW bridge is too good to change though.

If I had that much disposable it would be a better amp and cabs. With a bit of luck selling the current kit would take the figure up to £2k.
I have to say, that bass in the video did sound awful. It probably would have been better if he hadn't just been squeaking away on those top strings!
Phew, not just me that thought that! I'm afraid I don't get the erb thing, all that extra stuff to hold and move around (plus the cost of an 11-string replacement set) all for about 5 more notes per string...

Some of the older Led Zep stuff would be a good contrast such as Ten Years Gone and Since I've Been Loving You.

Could any of you more talented musicians on here give me some help with this? Pretty please

I'm a big fan of Grado headphones. You don't need to splash out £££s as the iGrado 'phones have the same drivers in as the £200 uber units. Cracking bass and not to difficult for iPods and the like to drive either. Not bad for £45 Only downside is that they don't look very cool, but that has never been a real consideration for me personally.
MB1. That sounds like an auction? Forum rules state you must add a price! and its usually "First come first served "(whoever pms and offers to buy first!) All PMs have dates and times on them when they were sent so you should be able to find the first one.
I don't think it's an auction as that would imply offer and counter offer until the market price was reached (there is a guide price in the sub-heading by the way). I do accept it is like sealed bid tender though. If the forum rules stipulate first offer wins then if somebody PMs me with a silly offer I'd be bound to accept it. Looking at some of the other For Sale threads you can see the negotiating happening right in front of you. I'll have another read of the rules though

I've heard very good things about Wizard pups too...

Hi all Thanks for the multiple PMs people to which I will be replying individually in a second or two. I have been quite taken aback and am most grateful for the level of interest so for the moment I'll postpone the ebay listing as I'd rather sell it here tbh. Yes, it's still available and I will accept most payment methods so long as people understand that some methods will involve a short delay before posting. I would like to make this as fair as possible so don't really want to do a "I've had such and such an offer, can you beat it?" type thing, so how about if you are interested PM you're best offer and I'll take the highest one received by 10pm on Sunday? Does that sound fair?

Hi all I'm about to put this on evil-bay (tonight), but thought I'd put a message on here in case anybody is interested. It's been used for band practice to capture those "magical moments" when somebody plays a good riff and we all stop and say "play that again.." followed by muttering and scatching of heads. It's only being sold 'cause one of the band received a shiny new one for his birthday recently. The item is in good condition and it in the original box with instruction, mains adapter, pouch etc and I'll include the 128MB media card. Not sure about price but the ones on evil-bay go for c. £40 + P&P so offers around that would be well received, all proceeds going to fund our upcoming studio session so please give generously. I'll add an image when I get home tonight. Please add a post or PM me if you have any questions.

Definitely when I manage to play my fretless in tune throughout a whole song Other than that I'm torn between a chorus pedal and an octave pedal

Tricky... Spector Legend 4 - Mid range "US" bass made in the far east so highly reliable - Toyota Camry? Yamaha RBX270F/L but modified - Pimped up Honda Civic? Overwater Aspiration Contemp. Jazz - How about a Porsche Boxster (if a Jazz=911 per the above posts)?

I have a reasonable amount of spinal issues following 30 yrs of rugby at a a decent standard. My physio has sorted out a number of different stretching and pressure relief exercises to help me and my symptoms so I would recommend finding a good one near you.

As per the title really. We've done all the introductory stuff and could sell the required number of tickets but it's a bit of a hike and the prescribed backline seems a bit limited. As far as I can detect you have no idea where you'll be on the bill either. As we're definitely not in it for the £££/fame/wives/drug rehab. etc. etc. is it worth it? It's not even the real Cavern for that matter!
Agreed, top chaps at the Bass Merchant.
+1 I bought my Aspiration from them and I thought they we very patient with me

I haven't tried out a bass before buying it since the late 90's!!!
ead replied to kevin_lindsay's topic in General Discussion
I've tried all the instruments I've purchased with on exception, the OW Aspiration that I have just acquired. And a fantastic bass it is too! -
Burns Weill Superstreamline. What a beauty.
I'm not sure I play well enough to get away with a bass looking like that, I'm afraid it's not doing it for me Still, the first Fender Jazz basses appeared in 1960 (I think) so will need to persuade Mrs ead to do more shifts...
