  1. Sounds like an alternative version of Another Brick in the Wall. With apologies to Pink Floyd fans everywhere as well as all lyricists.... You don't need no girlie contours You don't need no neck control No body carving in the workshop Luthier leave that bass alone
  2. What is the weight of the beast please?
  3. Hi folks For sale are these Ernie Ball strings that arrived on a bass I purchased very recently and had been fitted new by the seller. I prefer heavier strings so they came straight off and are available to you good people at a decent saving on the new price (£27 + P&P) Looking for £17.50 inc. P&P to UK mainland This is the spec: https://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/strings-c1/string-sets-c865/bass-guitar-c34/ernie-ball-extra-slinky-nickel-wound-40-95-bass-guitar-strings-p954 Here's a hi res pic of the beasties so you can see their condition.
  4. Hi folks These strings are brand new and unopened. They were bought for a DIngwall 4-string multi-scale bass with the two lower string being extra long scale. Gauges are 43/57/76/100 which give a really nice balanced tension. £25 posted UK mainland please
  5. Hi folks Clearing out the spares box and came across some strap pins in various colours and a strap fitting set in chrome per the pic below. Hopefully of use to someone here. £10 posted UK mainland
  6. Yes I remember them well. I was volunteering for the charity at the time and saw a few fly through the shops. Foolishly, I never bought one.
  7. Apologies if so. I looked at quite a few topics but didn't see it.
  8. I know, you can't under-estimate this guy.

  10. Following this with interest.
  11. This was from the Facebook public group. He was known as Scoop on here: Today is a sad day. I've kept this mostly to myself and haven't advertised the fact but in June I suffered a significant stroke which affected the left side of my body. I've not recovered as well or as quickly as I'd like and I'm not really able to play at a satisfactory level. In addition, last Friday I accepted a severance package from my employers, a charity. As a charity they weren't able to offer an enhanced deal so the financial package isn't significant. I need money. All bar a very few basses from my collection of 25+, including over 10 ACGs, will be delivered to Bass Direct for commission sale later today. It's heartbreaking but needs must.
  12. The ACG version is different to the J East original in that the push/pull on the vol/tone stack is treble boost; the push/pull on the mids stack is bass boost (I think configurable, but not 100% on that bit). One switch is active/passive and the other coil switching for the split coil pick up. So unusual for BD to get the specs wrong
  13. Since found out that these belong to a long-standing BCer who has had a serious medical situation. Very sad
  14. Just you
  15. A bunch of very tasty preloved ACGs have appeared on Bass Direct. Are they from anyone on here? https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_Finn_SH.html https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_J_Type_4.html https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_Retro_B_Maple.html https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_ReCurve_4_Fretless.html https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_Skelf.html

  17. Just acquired a lovely bass from Daniel. Easiest of easy transactions and he was very helpful in supporting pickup arrangements. Top banana, deal in confidence folks.
  18. It's a thought isn't it. Still messing around with control combinations. I've noticed that the impact of the tone on the mudbucker seems more limited compared to say a P bass tone control. How did you run the settings?
  19. Just acquired some string from David. Top bloke to deal with, great comms and rapido delivery. Thankks very much.
  20. Thanks Karl, good to know. Black might look cool on this particular bass.
  21. I think the full fat Attitudes have a chunkier neck. This one doesn't feel greatly different to the neck on my Sandberg TT. Pretty slim basically, not quite Jazz bass but pretty close.
  22. Unlike you, I have no shame Karl. The refin is actually better than described in the listing. It is starting to rub off in places but I'm not particularly bothered about that.
  23. Just picked this up from EvilBay (from a guy who turned out to be a real star and definitely a seller I would buy from again of anything turned up that interested me). I have been wanting to own one of these for a while but always seem to either miss out or not have the funds at the moment when they appear. This one was originally Sea Foam Green but was re-finished by the owner in Lava Red. He has had it from new so I am in effect the second owner. Overall in great condition for a bass that has been used regularly over it's life. At some point it might need a new harness but everything else seems spot on. Will do some better pics in due course.
  24. I would also agree. I much prefer my TT to the TM and Darkhawk. It fits in better with the music I play.
