  1. It can't be easy heading up say EBMM or Fender, maybe even RIC. You have a tried and tested formula that folks hate and love in equal measure, then get loved/slated for introducing new variants. You introduce something a bit more left-field, then get loved/slated for introducing new ideas and not sticking to the trusted formula. Everyone loves/hates your brand ambassadors. Looks like catering is a much safer option. Anybody want chips with that?
  2. I've had a few sets through the D'Addario Players Circle thing. TBH I've always gone back to my preferred EXL170BTs. Not sure I can explain precisely why but I just seem to get on better with them. I live in fear of them being discontinued.
  3. Pete ha very kindly relieved me of the burden of ownership of a pedal board. As has been said many times already he he is top bloke to deal with and made the whole process so very easy. Many thanks.
  4. I know it is fashionable to say this, but I'm putting this bass up for sale with genuine sadness, but I have another bass that does all the things this one does but with an active option too. I have owned the bass for a little while and have enjoyed playing it immensely, the replacement neck (see below) is amazing and I have debated with myself whether to just part out the bass and keep the neck for another bass. The pickup switch and individual volume controls afford great flexibility along with the master tone control of course. A high mass Fender bridge is standard and the bass comes in at 4.1kgs on my scales; pretty decent for a J bass. A Fender gig bag included. I have added a picture of the original serial number as the one on the reverse of the headstock does not reflect the right vintage etc. Price is £495. I would much prefer to hand over / meet up however is you live in a far-flung part of the kingdom then a courier is probably inevitable. I have a box and packaging and will wrap it up well, but you will need to make the arrangements. I work from home mostly so will be able to make sure that I'm around when the courier calls. Trades considered, but most likely to be tempted by a P bass with cash either way depending on the flavour. This is the Mk2 version of the Modern Player Jazz and has rotary selector/volume/volume/tone and an edge socket. The selector has 4 positions per below. You can then blend/vary as you wish: 1. 5. I'm sure that I've seen a vid on the Sandberg bridge on this topic. Probs a few pages back now.
  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394036350301?hash=item5bbe658d5d%3Ag%3Au2IAAOSwOodiXY~k&LH_ItemCondition=3000 Matt Freeman bargain
  7. I would check the pot values as I have a feeling that Sandberg don't use the 250k pots we are all used to. I put a Kiogon loom in mine (with non-delano pickups and it sounds great.
  8. More squinting and extrapolating a best guess tbh.
  9. I'd keep an eye out for a preloved passive VS and add a pickup of your choice and a Kiogon loom as I think Sandberg use 500k pots but it was a while ago since I owned this bass so my recollection may be shaky on that bit. Pre mods pic:
  10. Pricing a tad ambitious? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125253874228?hash=item1d29b67234:g:UEYAAOSwMGhiVFY9
  11. Presume you'll be spraying it black soon?
  12. My first band's first gig about 20 years ago iirc
  13. Beautiful. I had a Letts fretless 4 for some years and loved it. Absolute bargain for this money.
  14. Just acquired a pedal from Ben. Great transaction, excellent comms and ultra-quick despatch. All arrived safely 24 hours later. Complete gent, thanks for a rock solid transaction.
  15. Hi folks For sale is my Pedaltrain Classic 2 pedal board with the Pedaltrain softcase. The board has velcro already on it and is in excellent condition. The softcase is also very tidy with only a couple of marks (looks like chalk, but seems not to want to be brushed off). The size is 24" x 12.5" x 3.5". I acquired it a few months ago pre-loved but it's just a bit big for what I need (should have checked more before I bought it). Happy to post to UK mainland or for collection. I'll also happily deliver locally up to 20 miles from me. Prices therefore: Collected £55 Local Delivery £60 Posted to UK mainland £65 Here are some pics.
  16. Hi peeps For sale is this Jazz bass style harness. It came in a Limelight last week but I have put EMGs in so this is as new and completely unused. Volume/volume/tone with CTS pots, Switchcraft jack, and cloth wiring. Let me know if you need to see anything more detail but I think that I have captured the important bits. £25 posted UK mainland
  17. For sale is this rather cool bass overdrive pedal. Had it for quite a while and only f/s as I now have a Grizzly unit. In good condition with original box plus a leaflet on the controls (from the manufacturer as these are not routinely provided). One of the little screws is missing and try as I might I have not been able to find it (yet). Pics below. £45 posted UK mainland
  18. Hi folks For sale is the mini Flanger pedal. A lot of fun with some good setting options. Here is the manufacturer's web page on the beastie: https://idonner.eu/products/donner-jet-convolution-flanger-guitar-effect-pedal-vibration-rumbling-noise-effect Pics below. Sorry but I don't have the original packaging. £17.50 posted UK mainland
  19. Faced with that amount of choice in woods I feel that I be like a deer caught in the headlights; goodness knows it's hard enough at ACG. I know what @AndyTravis means about wanting one though.
  20. Lovely. Was that the one from Bass Bros? Some of my basses were being picked up and I saw that in the back of the car, nearly phoned Will up to make him an offer there and then.
  21. I have a pretty tame moustache, but not a chance in the beard dept. Same hair colour though
