I'm rather enjoying an imitation '57 transition P bass atm. That is to say the single coil p/up with the more carved body. Sit's nicely in the mix and with flats on sounds lush.
Strange the way EMI works. I always thought the office was electronically noisy as it's also my music room but I now wonder if it's just the old laptop.
Matt just acquired a bass from me. He very kindly agreed to meet half-way which meant a journey of an hour and a half for him. Great guy, we had a nice chat as part of the formalities. A genuinely good guy to deal with and a top banana to boot. Deal in confidence BC peeps.
Hi folks
For sale is this rather good overdrive pedal. It's lived a clean life on my pedal board for a few years and is only up for sale as I'm replacing a few pedals with one new multi effects pedal. As you can see from the pics it's in excellent condition and has been well looked after. I no longer have the box unfortunately but it will be well packed for shipping.
It has separate clean and driven channel volume controls as well as EQ controls so is really flexible. There's plenty of info on the interweb and here's a link to the Maxon website: http://www.maxon.co.jp/effects_n/bd10_n_e.html
Thanks for looking and here are a few pics.:
Hi folks
For sale are a set of hardly used Hipshot HB2 tuners (they were on a bass for around 48 hours and removed as the purchaser preferred the original fit Fender items) https://hipshotproducts.com/products/hb2-bass-tuning-machine
These are quality items in really good condition. They weight 86g each and have a 27:1 ratio. I will put the screws in a bag.

Warning prog content....
OK now that's out the way the two I have most favoured have been Fish's final studio album Weltsmerz and also Big Big Train's latest Common Ground.
Thanks @hubrad, I only noticed when one half turned over accidentally when I was messing around changing the pots over to see if it was one of them.. I was actually thinking whether active EMGs might be a better option in the end.
Hi folks
I recently acquired a set of EMG passive PJ pickups and on installation the P pickup is really noisy. The J is silent as a mouse per normal EMG standards.
So far I have:
double-checked the wiring
tried floating the bridge (per their active pickups)
Tried reversing the connectors
Mr Bagsieblue very kindly came round with his spare pickups and an EMG passive vol pot so I could do a bit of swapping around but nothing changed
One thing I notice is that if I turn the pickups upside down the hum disappears. If I just rotate them it makes no difference.
Any help welcome at this point as I've run out of ideas.

The pages seems to be languid in they way they load. I can be typing and everything just freezes before catching itself up. I've tried a few different websites and they all seem to be fine, just this one really?
I bet this J bass can produce some interesting tones. Something quite appealing about it

It's a fair point @NancyJohnson makes. If it's a unique bass then this ACG would be mine I think. As close as you can get to a custom bitsa and costing significantly less than an American Std Jazz (or whatever they are called now) this is a cracking bass and gets used a lot at ead towers.
