There's some stuff on the Spector website about this period:
-
Yes, apologies, I left the 9 out. Will amend forthwith.

The NS-94s were made in Korea to pretty much USA specs as far as I can determine. This was at a time when Stuart Spector had temporarily lost control of his brand name.

I have a TT4 passive with the Black Label pickups and I'm a big fan of that combo. Does things a J bass does very well and mine is 8lbs (3.6kgs) so very comfortable. I have V/B/T rather V/V/T as I prefer 1 volume for gigging. The pickups are quite hot but I've lowered them down a bit and the sound is sweet now.

Nice. I'm a big fan of its predecessor the NS-94. I've owned a couple over the years.

New fretless 34" scale 5er in progress to go with the fretless neck that came along with an ACG J Type. Don't mention it to @eude or there'll be trouble. Krell but with a couple of minor differences e.g. rounded edges and old style forearm contour. Body: 1-pc Amapola Top: Spalted Alder with black veneer Neck: 3-pc Maple with Ebony board & partial fret lines

I had an early '90s SR1500; a lovely bass.
-
Yeah, going to the Manchester gig.
-
Just acquired a bass from Graham. Great to deal with and made all the arrangements quickly and efficiently. Lovely bass too.
-
I'll have a reboot and try again tomorrow.
-
When I tried it it just stays as the stand P bass split coil.
-
That's quite pleasant I must admit.

Seems to work for a basic Jake C, when I click on any of the other 3 options it still behaves like the Jake C. Quite odd really. Everything else about the browers seems fine on other websites e.g. Sandberg configurator (another very dangerous web page).
-
Tried on a few different browsers but no joy.
-
I'll try again in a different browser, maybe just user incompetence (cannot be ruled out).
-
Just had a look at the site again and noticed the Jake TB, looks very interesting. Does anyone have one? I can't seem to get the configurator to work for this model type, which to be fair is probably a blessing in disguise as I'd be pretty tempted to order one.
-
I really like the black sparkle finish on mine. Currently toying with the idea of a B/W/B pickguard for added stealth.
-
There is definitely joy to be found in uncovering a gem of a bass that cost not a lot. There are a few other threads on this subject
-
Thank you, you are very kind or possibly/probably confusing me with someone else

In the cold light of day I expect that I am not 'good enough' to play a few of my basses however I enjoy trying to do them justice.
