  1. I've had a full fat Anaconda which was excellent (gratuitous bass pic below). Not tried the Essence series although I saw a few on here f/s and they were getting positive comments.
  2. It looks like it was themed on the Bass Centre's Leo Lyons Woodstock J bass. https://www.basscentre.com/british-bass-masters/bass-centre-woodstock-bass.html
  3. Welcome and enjoy your stay. I love Seattle and it's too long since I've been back.
  4. I think Mark will do pretty much what you want. He made me a brilliant copy of Geddy Lee's No.1 Jazz bass. Gratuitous bass pics:
  5. Just acquired a Limelight P bass this week and it's great, plays really nicely and the relic is very tastefully done.
  6. I recently bought an OLP bass and fitted a Nordie vintage style MM pickup and a Retrovibe Stinger 2-band EQ which as a combo makes for a pretty cheap bass. My mate who knows about these things tells me it does a very passable imitation of a pre-EB Stingray, but maybe that's because he's a mate.
  7. Dummy switch labelled "P Bass / J Bass" so you don't scare the locals in recording studios. Alternatively a 'Talent' pot. Mine goes to 11 but I fear it is still inadequate

    Chunky Jazz Neck

Squier Silver Series jazz will be a chunkier, same neck as the P bass with a 40mm nut.
  9. Is this you 87th P bass sale or have I missed one somewhere Ash?
  10. Puccini, Ricky Ross and Vanessa Paradis

    Feedback for MNY

Met up with Mark today to trade basses and generally put the world to rights. He very kindly came over to make the trade and tea and idle gossip ensued. Top bloke and most worthy of our trust fellow BCers. Deal in complete confidence.
  12. I fear that these basses might become an excellent 'pre-loved' purchase.
  13. Nice passive Sandberg VS4 at Bass Direct. Lightweight and sub £1k; what's not to like? https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Sandberg_VS4_SH_SB_2.html

    Feedback for Kirky

Just sold Martin my Barefaced One10. What a nice, genuine guy. Everything made very easy and very fast payment. Thanks very much, deal in confidence BCers.
  15. Already mentioned above but my favs are Achilles Last Stand, 10 Years Gone and The Song Remains The Same. I don't think that any of these really count as obscure or forgotten though.
  16. My fav is the Dingwall one. I have it on an ACG J bass and I get 4 options: Bridge only; both parallel; both series; neck only.
  17. Here's a pic of my J Type and RetroB for comparison purposes.
  18. Probably not for me to judge, but I actively seek out new bands (as in I've not heard them before) either live or recordings. I'd be lying if I said there were a wide distribution of genres though. But I do try. I played the violin to a decent standard as a young person and was exposed to a lot of classical and I still love opera and some composers. Then I saw Led Zep play live and my world changed. When the kids were growing up I played them all sorts of stuff on the basis that it was fine if they didn't like a particular band or genre but I made them articulate why that was the case. I was trying to get them to understand that for something as qualitative as music there is no such thing as good or bad taste just stuff you listen to and stuff you don't..
  19. I'll offer up the Q-Tips sole studio album, cunningly titled Q-Tips.
