  1. No they are not. You can't force anyone to buy one (not in this country at any rate) so the market sets the value. If they are priced too high they wouldn't sell like any other product you care to name.
  2. Full house with one guess (the T'bird bassist).
  3. Fender sold out to CBS in 1965 ending the pre-CBS era. Although Leo and his team were still involved with making the basses, and 1966 pre-dated the cost-cutting measures later imposed by CBS, these instruments do not attract the same price tags as the the pre-CBS items. I have a perfectly lovely 1966 P bass myself but I doubt it will ever be for sale in any future I can see at the moment. Never say never of course.
  4. Going for a modestly overwound '58 P bass pickup from Martin Herrick, with a V/T/T passive harness from our very own KiOgon Mine is very heli-portable at 8lbs 3oz
  5. Congrats. Picked up a black one myself on Friday. Planning some cool mods to make in into a passive tone monster...
  6. Me too. Check feedback is a must and also whether the seller routinely sells music gear. eBay is also dead easy to search for sold items to see what price any particular bass seems to be going for. Reverb has a similar price guide too.
  7. I only had a brief play however I felt the tension was about the same as my preferred D'Addario EXL170BTs. I thing the strings were a bit stiffer though if that makes sense?
  8. These have just come off a bass I have acquired. The previous owner said he had put them on very recently. The have red silks so I think Rotosound but not sure. The gauge feels like a pretty standard 45-105 set but I cannot confirm that absolutely. The strings came from a 4 in line headstock Fender-style 34" scale bass. Quick pic: £15 post to UK Mainland
  9. Just picked up this bad boy in exchange for a surprisingly modest amount of wonga. Intended for general messing around and possible modding. Just given the bass a good clean and a new set of strings. Neck is a lovely satin finish with a vintage tint.
  10. For sale is my Diago 9v pedal board supply. It's no more than 18 months old and has performed impecably over this period. I used it to power 5 x Boss type pedals for a while but I have a high current item on the way for which this is unsitable so moving it on. Included is a 5 and a 6 connector daisy chain. £30 posted UK mainland
  11. Occasionally on a pickguard...
  12. Dan just acquired an amp head from me. Excellent comms., fast payment as collection arranged without any drama. Top bloke to deal with folks.
  13. Now sold, thanks for all the interest.
  14. Mark has just acquired some guitar parts from me. As ever, and as has been said many times already on this thread, top bloke to deal with.

    Feedback for JBP

Steve very kindly relieved me of the burden of ownership of a pedal. Splendid person to deal with, excellent comms., super quick payment. Deal in confidence fellow BCers.
  16. I guess I just like a J bass, plus I have the super J covered off with an ACG.
  17. I've had 5 Sandbergs over the years. The first was a Cali I VS4. I then moved to a black Cali II TT4 passive. This gave way to a VM4 (with the P pickup the right way around) but I didn't really get on with this configuration. I then ended up with what I had hoped would be two keepers a custom red VS4 and a TT4. Sadly I had to sell these along with a few other basses to raise some cash quickly for what I will describe as a 'family situation'. Thankfully all behind us now and about to re-enter the fray with a custom TT4 passive that I'm spec'ing up. Here are a few pics for y'all:
  18. Chris kindly relieved me of the burden of ownership of some Sadowsky knobs. A pleasue to do business with you once again sir. Prompt payment, excellent comms. Chris is the kind of BCer that makes this place great.
  19. I echo all the above. They are right up there with Spector in terms of customer relations. I am currently talking to them about a new bass and have troubled them with several iterations so far. Nothing appears to be too much trouble.
