  1. Much as I like Gibson basses, I couldn't find one that really worked for me so I commissioned one here in the UK. Sadly a little above your budget

    Feedback for SH73

Just done some bizniz with Peter. Totally great to deal with, super comms etc. Deal in confidence bass peeps.
  3. Goodness, in a year that gave us albums like Angel Dust, RATM, Automatic for the People, Dirt, Images and Words, and Us (I think this was released in '92), if so this is a simple but so effective bass part.
  4. It's sold now thanks (in fact it sold within 10 mins of me listing it). I will update the thread.
  5. SOLD ELSEWHERE I bought this bass not too long ago in the hope that it would be a suitable proxy for my first proper bass, the original first series Spector Legend. It turns out that I still want my actual bass back despite this being a seriously good bass (actually quite a lot better). Therefore, after much soul-searching and inner contemplation I have decided to sell this one. This is the upgrade NS Pulse II bass with some seriously good features. The bass is truly in excellent condition. The roasted maple neck is particularly delightful with a lovely satin finish. Weight is a very manageable at just under 8lbs (3.6kgs). The bass comes with a good quality gig bag. Please believe me when I say that these are fantastic basses and that this is a very reluctant sale. £750 OVNO. Collection or some convenient meeting place preferred but can offer postage if necessary; we can discuss this option. Trades: I'm looking for a nice P bass (cash either way). My preference is rosewood board, vintage sized frets, 9lbs or less in weight ideally (but just over 9lbs is not a deal breaker). The specs are as follows: Neck · Bolt on 3pc Roasted Maple neck · Macassar Ebony finger board 34” scale length, with 24frets · Luminlay side dots and Spector logo at 12th fret · Width at nut: 1.57" Body · The original NS curved and carved Swamp Ash body with quilted maple top · Black cherry matt finish Hardware · Black · Bridge: Spector locking high-mass bridge, with intonation screws · String spacing at bridge: 0.75" (19mm) Pickups and electronics · Neck pickup (active): EMG P · Bridge pickup (active): EMG J · Preamp: Spector TonePump Jnr. 2-band EQ · Controls: Pickup volume, blend, treble and bass EQ If you have any questions at all, or require additional pictures of any details please ask away and I give as comprehensive an answer as I am able! These pics were taken before the post-it note situation and I will re-take these asap to confirm this. All my sales have had pics taken against this very piece of wall/floor if that offers any re-assurance.
  6. Hi folks, I picked this up a little while ago, on a bit of a whim to be honest, and it has mostly sat in its box glaring at me. The watch seems to be pretty decent quality and comes with a couple of spare NATO straps alongside the original fit Army Green item for different looks (black and dark blue with a red stripe). All working and in good order. Not a mark on it. £50 posted Special Delivery to you (UK). Here's the link to the Lakland website and a few photos too: https://www.lakland.com/product/lakland-watch/
  7. Excellent transaction with Andy for a strap. All very easy and so quick, thanks a lot. Deal in confidence peeps.
  8. There's a Jazz and a slab P bass for sale from the creators: https://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/portfolio/new-limelight-00302-66-slab-precision-bass/
  9. Great to see BBT are touring again.
  10. Second time this year see the Kate Bush tribute Cloudbusting. Extraordinary gig up in the Muni Theatre, Colne, with our very own @sprocketflup, aka Dave, on duty with top bass playing (fretted, fretless and upright), singing and general bouncing duty. Way too much talent for one person. Check these folks out people. If you like KB's music you will not be disappointed. The crowd were loving it and although the pics don't reflect it, the show was pretty much a sell-out. You don't often see two basses being played during a song. Guitarist on a Jazz bass and our man on a fretless 5er.
  11. If you want to come and try mine you'd be more than welcome (I'm in Chorley). The nut on mine is 1.6 (41mm), but it's deffo a modern C shape and very comfy.
  12. No idea what he is talking about neither of my two Jet basses are afflicted in this way. It struck me as an odd comment that none of the other reviews I've seen have mentioned.
  13. Took the Jet P to practice last night and had a solid 3hrs session with the band to see how the bass performed. In short excellent. The bass is still exactly as I received it barring the strap locks I have fitted. Powerful little beastie that really cuts through, the neck is great to move around on. The stock pickup and electrics work fine, I suspect it has ceramic magnets but clearly that's a guess on my part but it does have a pretty high output. The light weight also makes it a doddle for the longer sessions/gigs. I may try out a Steve Harris pickup that I have knocking about with a good quality loom, but in all honesty the standard set up works really well as in there is no sign of the on/off volume and tone knobs you can get with budget components and the pots have a nice quality feeling when you make adjustments. All in all, a cracking P bass.
  14. I was given this for a birthday (reasonably not too recently). Can I have permission to use this instead of Lego please?
  15. Might I suggest a J East P Retro onboard preamp. You can push the mids when you need to, have the scooped sound when you need it and go passive if you need to. Brucie Bonus is that the tone control works on both active and passive modes. No mods needed to you bass either.
  16. Is this a heavy one or a light one?
  17. It's here. Very quick look and noodle at lunchtime suggests that it's very well put together with no obvious issues. It sounds great so once again I may just leave it as stock per my JJB-300. The neck is great and definitely different to their Jazz bass as I had thought that they might have done just one neck for both (like the Squier Silver Series basses). Mine is just under 8lbs (3.6kgs) so super usable.
  18. I fitted the J-Retro to this bass when I owned it. Straight swap, no issues whatsoever.
  19. For sure!
  20. They are great, mine is a gold one! 70s pickup spacing too.
  21. I've noticed both the Jet P and J basses have better higher fret access than the F@@@er items. I might have just accidentally bought one of the Jet P basses too
  22. Oooh, I hadn't picked up on a Jet P bass. I now have bad GAS so thanks for that I love my Jet JJB-300 (weighs in at bob on 4kgs) and is still un-modified after several months.
