I'm assuming Talk Bass. My man tells me that it's some foreign, collonial offshoot.

And the Traveller version with the wooden bits.

OK I will do my best. I will of course photograph my setting carefully as it took me a bit of experimentation to get to what I like. Note that I have also wound down the gain to around 50% on the unit.

OK I'll sort something out. Can you give me an idea of what you want to hear please in terms of pickup options and Tone Pump settings so I can try to meet your requirements

Sterling by Music Man SB14 bass with branded high quality gig bag – Very good condition For sale is my Sterling By Music Man SB14 bass. The serial number dates the bass to 2010. I have owned the bass since new and it is in excellent overall condition with barely a mark on it. One point to mention: The bass came with a white pearl pickguard to which I took an instant dislike and sprayed to a matt black finish. The nut width on these instruments is pretty slim and quite jazz-like although the depth of the neck is more P bass than J bass. It is however beautifully finished with a lovely silky smooth satin lacquer. Sterling by Music Man SB14 Bass Features: · Body: Basswood · Neck: Maple · Fingerboard: Maple · Pickups: Music Man Humbucking with ceramic magnets and a hum-cancelling phantom coil · Preamp: 3-band Active Preamp: Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass · Bridge: Music Man designed · Tuners: Open Gear The maple fingerboard has been beautifully finished and the fret work is excellent too. The frets themselves have barely any visible wear. This particular bass weighs in at bang on 9lbs by my scales so quite light for the breed. The 3-band EQ plus pickup coil switching allow three options: Parallel for the classic Stingray sound; single coil with phantom coil (for hum cancelling); and series options. The bass comes with an SBMM gig bag; probably the best gig bag I've come across with nice soft and thick padding. Now that we are allowed to move about to a degree I’d much prefer to meet up somewhere in person to exchange the bass with suitable social distancing. A courier would be a last resort and would be for you to organise. I will be very flexible with your collection arrangements as I am working from home all the while. These SBMM basses get a lot of love on t'interweb. Here is a pic to whet the appetite. I will take some more in the next day or so.

Now sold elsewhere, thanks for all the interest. Fender ‘65RI Jazz Bass 2007 MIJ Here is my pretty rare Fender Japan JB65B-85US. I believe that these were non-export models and were built to US spec with Alder bodies and US pickup. The bass is in very good condition. There are no bumps and bruises, no buckle rash and the back of the neck is flawless. Produced in 2007, and as mentioned above, the bass has an Alder body, aged Olympic White finish with a matching headstock, dots and bound neck with a Rosewood fingerboard and USA Vintage pickups. The colour is more cream than white, I have included a picture with some white printer paper over the body for comparison purposes. In a couple of places around the cutaways the finish has turned to a light caramel colour. This appears to be related to the paint and the finish is unbroken. I have tried to photograph this for you to judge. The bass weighs around 4.2kgs (or just over 9lbs in old money) and comes with a nice gig bag. IMO the Japanese reputation for the care and attention to detail they bring to marrying pieces of wood together is well deserved. It’s hard to price they don’t appear for sale that often but I’d like £750 collected. I not in any hurry to part with it and it’ll be no hardship to keep. Now that we are allowed to move about to a degree I’d much prefer to meet up somewhere in person to exchange the bass with suitable social distancing. A courier would be a last resort and would be for you to organise. I will be very flexible with your collection arrangements as I am working from home all the while. Here are some pics, please note that the neck is not as amber as it seems in some of the images. The best representation of the colour is the image of the reverse of the headstock. If you'd like to see any detail please just ask.

I have a Euro LE '79 and the means to record, although please note I would describe my playing as absolutely average. What is it that you want to hear?

Limelight made me a great copy (imho, ymmv etc.) of Geddy's famous Jazz bass.

I use Jack's Instrument Services for all my pickguard needs. Not the cheapest, but very good quality.

Andy clearly resides in the sunny and warm southwest part of town. Up here in Lancs it's more like 2.7 days/year

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Whilst I would always buy from a local independent where possible (and indeed bought a bass from one a month or so back) I don't feel that you have been "hung, drawn and quartered" as the various points are all reasonable in respect of the bass itself. Your advert still makes no mention of the fretboard / trussrod issue and describing it an original neck might possibly be misconstrued by some folks. I bought my '66 P from the USA with some valuable support from a site member. I received a pack of 84 pictures with close-up detail down to component level. Whilst you would be considerably closer I doubt I could walk into your shop and ask you to dismantle the bass so I could see all the bits. You would appear to have satisfied customers on here which is of course reassuring to forum members. Commentary on the bass is just our opinion which you might consider or reject, but there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here who I would certainly turn too when my knowledge is lacking.

Fantastic work @Bilbo having just about got the hang of the first half of Starship Trooper I look on this with some trepidation Does this comply with the Salieri note limit per piece of music?

So pleased to be thought of as middle-aged

Everything in moderation. Whilst the music I regularly play is mostly not suited to the technique I would love to be able to incorporate it in moderation were I better at it.

Lack of info or lack of knowledge. They may well be good guys, but this is/was potentially a high value instrument so it does seem to me to be a bit negligent to not have done some homework.

I had some Cobalt flats on a bass for a bit but didn't really get on with them tbh. Put my 4-yr old TIs back on. That having been said I'm going to give the Markbass Vintage set that I got with the BC offer a spin too.

Here's my '66 for comparison. Definitely not the same construction.

Probably going to be something like a Yamaha, Squier or maybe a Bass Collection I guess. I'm sure Sire will get a mention too although I only had a very brief noodle one. Not tried a Vintage bass but the reviews have been pretty good.
