  1. ^ Well said that man/woman/non-binary gender person.
  2. I was going to say that OK then, The Hamsters?
  3. Alice was probably the loudest gig I've been to (supported by Twisted Sister) and I've seen a few loud bands in my time.
  4. Bassment Jaxx by any chance?
  5. Yeah, original line up the best. I had their first EP in 7" white vinyl.
  6. That's because you spend an unhealthy amount of time winning the gigs quiz.
  7. Just done a similar thing (but involving a can of spray paint) to one of my basses. The SB14 came with a mildly unpleasant pearl white effort that mysteriously went matt back after being in close proximity to the aforementioned spray paint.
  8. For the purposes of full disclosure I have purchased one of those Ashdown Tone Pocket (headphone amp) for practice purposes. I believe this is acceptable under the regulations as described in clause 3.2.11b sub-section viii para 3. I believe that the purchase is also covered by the Nuclear Non-proliferation Act.
  9. Ditto, first time I've seen one. Just need a Sandberg version of the Tele headstock now.
  10. Is the correct answer! Had tickets to show in Manchester that was cancelled at the last minute and the band subsequently disappeared from view for a few years.
  11. Southampton Gaumont in either '79 or 80' can't be certain.
  12. Seen a few of Mr Wilson's shows over the years so not him I'm afraid.
  13. Sorry, saw them when I lived in Italy in the 70s. Supported by another band on the list that I saw much, much later on in Manchester.
  14. Right then. I'll do one more and then in the unlikely event of another successful guess on my part I'll defer further goes unless large 'incentives' are involved Rock theme this time: Kiss Deep Purple Iron Maiden Evanescence Rush The Who Steven Wilson Jethro Tull Buena Vista Social Club (the metal years) IQ
  15. Very recently received a bass from Bulgaria without any issues so the courier network still appears to be functioning OK. European shipment (parts) on its way too as I type.
  16. Do these differ from a Stingray only by the extra fret and the smaller body?

    First Bass

A slightly leftfield suggestion, but what about a preloved Spector Legend? I started on a Squire P playing reasonably heavy tunes and then had a go on a Legend. Saved like mad and bought one and it lasted me for a number of years (until I discovered forerunners of Basschat and picked up a serious GAS infection as a result).
  18. No real idea who they are (sorry) but I'll try Freur
  19. Here we go, I feel that this is a whole lot better! I also completely forgot to mention this is not a thread hijack as I owned a Sterling HS for a while. Definitely prefer the H only version though.
