  1. A used, but good condition BadA55 II bridge with screws. Plenty of love for these in the world. Pic showing overall excellent condition. £75 delivered UK mainland
  2. Not 100% sure tbh as the packaging was gone when I picked the bass up and the vendor was equally uncertain. Compared to my regular sets they don't feel to different so I'd guess at either the 40-100 or the 45-105s.
  3. Per the title really. Had been newly fitted to a bass I bought last week but not my preferred string for this type of bass. £17 posted to UK mainland
  4. As a founder member of the CESP GB club (Cloth-Eared, Shallow Philistine's GB) when it comes to boards I can't hear much of a difference when playing in the pub with the band so I buy most on the overall aesthetic.
  5. For sale a brand new and unopened set of Newtone Diamond nickel wound strings for a 5-string. Bought for a 35" scale bass but would be fine on a 34" scale too. Cost £33 plus P&P when I bought them, your for £27.50 in P&P to UK mainland
  6. Lust acquired a lovely bass from Mark. Very easy transaction, great comms. Top man.
  7. This is surely heresy; a P bass with the tone fully open
  8. Even my '66P is some years out, but I couldn't afford anything older
  9. Thanks for the info. most helpful.
  10. Nice bass. Is there much of a difference between the Fender branded JVs and the Fender MIJ E series basses?
  11. Guilty as charged Have some nice ACGs and Spectors but often gig less exotic basses. That having been said my golden rule is if it hasn't been gigged for several months then it gets moved on. That way I do rock up to pubs with unusual basses
  12. I had one of these for a while but with the scalloped headstock that I think came a bit later on the time line than this bass. Great instruments and very nicely put together as @Bassassin mentioned looks to be a great value purchase for somebody.
  13. Depending on how precious we are with what is a Precision then I've either got 2 or 4 Deffo 2 Fendery ones, a '66 and an '06. Plus a Spector LE'77 (active with Di Marzio split coil) and an ACG (passive with split coil 32" scale)
  14. There's a bass I'm after darn sarf that will necessitate a trip from Chorley (where I live) to somewhere M4ish. Downside is I need to sell the two basses I have up for sale before I can buy. But if all goes well feel free to count me in.
  15. Saw them in Manchester last weekend; excellent show and some good track selection, as in stuff you don't hear so often.
  16. Great stuff, good job getting the gig again.
  17. I'm enjoying this thread most of all for the "Most surprising" category (I'm making a list and checking it twice) Also I have occasional mild regret when I see what folks post in the "Wish I'd seen" response as I keep doubting my own choice
  18. Bit shaky on the dates, and sticking to the more widely known artists but: First concert - Elton John, Italy, 1975 Last concert - Steven Wilson, Manchester Apollo, 2019 but might have been 2018 Best concert - Led Zep or Bowie - tough to choose Worst concert - Iron Maiden, MEN Arena Loudest concert - Alice Cooper MEN arena c. 2014 Seen the most - Porcuine Tree Most surprising - The Pineapple Thief - really good show last year in Manchester Next concert - The Musical Box (Genesis tribute act) tomorrow Wish I would have seen - Pink Floyd doing The Wall, had tickets and gave them to a mate.
  19. I recently discover a button on my Portaflex which gives a low bass boost. I was running my '66P into the amp with the EQ set with bass set at about 2 o'clockt; slightly more low mids and the treble tuned down to about 9 o'clock. Bass boost button engaged and a bit of foam squished under the strings next to the bridge; the result wonderful rich tones.
  20. That's how I prefer to deal with it Ms B
  21. I hear you bud.
  22. That was great, really enjoyed. Respect.
  23. Yamaha BB P34 Bass – Manufactured in September 2017 Re-listed for trade is my BB P34 bass, manufactured in September 2017. I acquired the bass in December 2019. I had heard good things about these basses and I can confirm that they are all true! A straight sale is of course still an option and I will honor the previous offer to sell at £850. Trade-wise I'm after a nice 4-string Jazz bass. Preference would be a US bass in Black/Black/Rosewood or Black/Black/Maple but others combos are possibly of interest too. Happy to consider CIJ/MIJ with some cash my way also. Highway One particularly of interest (with some cash my way). The neck is nice and straight and very easy to play on, currently set with a pretty low action. The instrument is in very good condition with only a couple of light scuffs from use as I have tried to show in the pictures but they are really hard to capture (apologies for the reflections, but it is very shiny and has been well looked after). The bass weighs in at just over 9lbs according to my bathroom scale and is currently strung with steel round-wound strings. It comes with a very robust Yamaha hardcase and all the case candy. It is a very nicely balanced instrument both on lap and strap making it very comfortable to play. The neck is fantastic, and very comfortable to move around on. If you have any questions at all, or require additional pictures of any details please ask away and I give as comprehensive an answer as I am able. I would prefer to arrange a meet up if at all possible, I'm pretty flexible and willing to travel a bit if necessary.
