Precision advice - don't read if you hate P basses

This is my main gigging bass with the pub rock covers band I play in. It's actually an American Std P bass from 2015 iirc. Black/Black/Rosewood as you can see and looks pretty 70s to my eyes. Approx 50% of your budget and nicely built. Not an expert on 70s/80s Fenders by any means but the Am Stds are nicely bult basses. Sounds great too -

If one pops up, then maybe a Squier SIlver Series P bass is a nice thing as an alternative option?

If you have two straps which box do you tick, 1-2 or 2-5?

Just about given up trying to find my old 1st gen Legend, but came across this beauty that has a serial number within 6 places of my old one. Assuming these are sequential they must surely be related p.s. Posted a few vids in the "Show Us Your Playing Vids" thread using the Euro 4LE.

Hi peeps I have an urge to try to track down and hopefully re-acquire my first 'proper' bass, a Spector Legend 4 in Dark Cherry. The serial number is 8854 and it was from the first series of Legends witth the three-band EQ. On of the knobs was slighly off centre iirc. Any info etc. welcomed. Happy to offer a very fair price for the bass. I sold it on here (well on an earlier version of BC I think) in 2011. Here's the f/s post: Thanks in advance folks.

OK thanks DAve Had a few more goes and I think that it has worked even though the transaction was a bit lumpy and seemed to not round off. Anyway I have a PayPal receipt email and the payment is showing on my account so fingers crossed that it reached the seller OK.

Been trying to buy the CD on Whiteknight Records but PayPal doesn't seem to like this very much?

Bart B Axis p/ups are great. Had them in a Sandberg TT recently.

Good work there, loving that tune. Any planned dates in the northwest?

Rich just bought a bass from me. I think we have been exchanging gear for a while, and I can't emphasise enough what a top bloke Rich is. Great to deal with, prompt payer, good comms. Deal in confidence folks.

Deffo prefer natural wood but does that constitute a colour? If not the close run for me between black and burgundy; specifically Midnight Wine.

Sandberg California II VS4 Bass Made in Germany This is a very reluctant sale. This is the new shape California II in VS configuration, essentially an active/passive Precision bass. Good as this bass is, I tend to gig with ACGs so it's a little neglected, and not getting the use it surely should. The pickup is a Nordstrand NP4 item, more details can be found here: https://nordstrandaudio.com/products/np4. This is a cracking pickup and absolutely nails the P bass tone. The bass is finished a custom colour with matching headstock and mother of pearl dot markers. This high quality German-made Sandberg bass is around 18 months old and is in excellent condition as I hope the pictures show. I would prefer to arrange some kind of delivery / collection / meet up if at all possible. I'm pretty flexible and willing to travel a bit if necessary. Courier would be the last resort and will be at cost to you. This bass would cost around £1,400 so do grab yourself a bargain! Features/Specifications: · Alder body with Maple neck, 22 frets plus a zero fret · Rosewood board with mother of pearl markers · Very light at just under 7½ lbs in weight (3.4kg) · Fabulous neck with a 38mm nut width and a satin finish, so beautiful to move around on · High quality Sandberg chrome hardware with lightweight tuners · Custom colour with satin finish on the body with matching headstock · Unmarked as far as I can see · 2-band EQ with active/passive option. The treble control acts as a tone control in passive mode · Comes with the high quality Sandberg gig bag and tools If you have any questions at all, or require additional pictures of any details please ask away and I give as comprehensive an answer as I am able.
