    I would certainly recommend Limelight. They made me a great copy of Geddy's famous J bass down to the minor blemishes. I would recommend looking for 'real' old basses and ask them to copy it. Andy Baxter basses is a good resource for pics and ideas.

    I've been trying to find some info online about the contraol layout. Please could you expalin what the various knobs do as I cannot find a diagramme online.

    We're just working up Eleanore (The Turtles) and a rock version of Be My Baby. Not sure if Id'd class either as 'forgotten' though.

    The bass has landed safely. It is like new, I can't find a mark on it. Action adjusted, Tonepump wound back a little and plugged in. Goodness what a great bass. Looking forward to using this one with the band (s) rather a lot. I'll do more pictures when the light is good, but here's another from the ebay advert to keep you going...

    I'm in Chorley and have a number of P basses (only 2 of which are Fenders). You would be most welcome to come and try my basses and A/B to yours if you wish.

    I'm still experimenting. The one above has D'Addario EXL160BTs fitted, however the new will have a lighter set made up of singles I think.

    Haha. Took a major gamble late last year and decided to sell my much loved Euro LX in order to acquire one of these when one popped up in my price range.

    Fo sale is a brand new set of D'Addario EXL160M strings. These are for Medium Scale basses. The cardboard cover has been opened but the bag containing the strings is untouched. £15 posted to UK Mainline please.

    I had an MIJ E Series P bass ('62 RI) that I sold to the bass player of a very well known band. It was a great bass, really good tone but I marginally preferred the '96 MIJ 62RI P bass. Here it is, CAR so not quite as 'bright' as my camera made it out to be:

    Just stumbled across this thread. After umming and erring for a while I decided to give a 32" scale bass a go and bought this ACG. I feel I might be a convert as I've recently commission another 32" scale AGC configured as a passive P bass.

    I'm not on any other forum so I have no frame of reference but I am sympathetic to the OP's view. I do feel it's a less friendly place than before, whether this is part of a cycle who knows. It is a minority of members and I tend to stay away from threads where I see they are 'engaged'.

    Love these basses, excellent on the knee or strap. I have the 32" scale version.
