  1. Seeing the show in Manchester at the weekend. The last tour was probably gig of the year for me so the bar is set high.
  2. We do just enough songs in Eb tuning to make it worth taking two basses one tuned E the other down a semitone.
  3. Next time I speak to the Yes boys I'll let them know your views
  4. Probably the camera being shocked by the sudden appearance of sunlight. It's black really.
  5. After what has felt like a while, but was in fact only a week and a bit here's the new acquisition courtesy of Freddie75 of this parish. I've been on the hunt for a Spector to replace the original Legend I had 7 or so years ago and which has proved elusive to track down and buy back.
  6. Hi there I'm doing some general spring cleaning in the spares draw. These strings are all very lightly used having been taken off basses I have acquired and been restrung with my own personal favs. From left to right they are: Nickel round wounds - uncertain as to the brand but less than 6 months old when I bought the bass they were on (Fender-type 4-in-line headstock) Rotosound Swingbass. Off a 2 over 2 Specor, but massive ammounts of silk left so should fit anything £10 posted UK Mainland for both or £5 per set with £1 postage. Thanks for looking and here is a pic:
  7. Hi folks Thanks for stopping by. Here is a Fender gig bag that is now surplus to requirements. It has the odd spot on it and some light scuffing on the bottom that I have tried to capture in the pics. All the zips work fine and it's generally in very good and serviceable condition. The shoulder straps are in one of the pockets and are in fine shape too. NOW SOLD THANKS Cheers and here are the pics:
  8. And yet you're then one that said Yes wasn't about the listening experience, it's certainly what I go to gigs to do.
  9. Interesting. In which case, any considering the comments above, the so-called classic Yes line-up of Anderson/Howe/Wakeman/Squire/White must also be no more than a classy tribute to the original band?
  10. Couldn't disagree more. But let's leave it there shall we?
  11. Alan White was playing but too frail to do the whole set. I would gently suggest giving them a listen before dismissing the new line up. Steve Howe was not an original member, nor was Alan White, and it has always been the band policy to evolve. Chris Squire urged Billy Sherwood to take over his role and to keep Yes going.
  12. Just come home from seeing Yes at the Liverpool Philharmonic. Excellent set which I think I can regurgitate if anybody is interested. Chris Squire's replacement Billy Sherwood was using a selection of v nice Spector basses includingwhat I think was one of the 30th Anniversay models with the fish on the fretboard. Forgot to add that the Spectors sounded awesome and just as good as Chris's Ric. Closed eyes I was hard-pressed to tell the difference. Dodgy phone pic follows:
  13. DFA = Don't F*** Around - Gives you a belt from the mains if you twiddle too much. The switches alternates between "Stun" and "Kill" settings.
  14. Good grief what were you doing to/with them?
  15. Chris has just acquired some knobs from me. Quick and easy transaction, plenty of comms and ultra quick payment. Genuinely a top banana.
  16. The thing I liked about OGWT was that there was just nothing like it at the time and as a registered old git I watched "season 1" live. The OGWT pretty much invented videos when bands weren't able to play live as well. Groundbreaking, and yes, quite nerdy.
  17. I agree, I know he gets a lot of stick on here but I enjoy the shows and get to see bands I wouldn't normally stumble across and often as not buy CDs on the back of it.
  18. Probabaly a personal thing for me BigRedX as I was never that into pop. First LP I bought was Close to the Edge and then spiraled into deepest prog.
  19. Yes indeed. The very best music show ever. Sorry, typo there. I believe in common parlance that should read evaaaarrrrrrrhhh.
  20. Lovely NS-94; I had a natural one just the same, preceded by a trans red one. I think I'm right in saying that the s/numbers were on stickers so may have fallen off by now.
  21. When I last sent you pics of my jack-hole you were less than complimentary. It took me whole seconds to recover my dignity.
  22. Countdown to NBD (Spector) in progress. 9 more days...
