Nope - It's a 'basschat-only' problem. And someone else mentioned it, too... think it was Dave Vader.
I did, that was a while ago, I also use Chrome with adblock (although I'm on Iron at work now, just testing it out. quite good) And it seems to have stopped. But then i haven't been on much for the last few weeks, been busy. it may have come back.
I had assumed he meant the dots, or blocks or whatever. I was hoping someone would come up with something because I would be interested, too. I know you can buy stick on fret markers that come with a pen to colour the current markers the same as the fretboard so they don't show through or around the new ones, but it's hardly suitable if you just want a plain board. I'd quite like my Warlock to have a plain ebony board but with markers at the 12th fret (a pair of silver mudflap girls).
I pulled the dots out of my maple board with a hand drill and a tiny drill bit, then filled them with maple veneer and superglue. They're not totally invisible, but they aren't black anymore either. Like ET says, whole new board is the only fool proof way, but you can do a lot with dust and glue (and a hole punch and some veneer in my case). I shall post a picture again.... (posted it on a fretless question the other day as well) Not too visible is it?

Drilling Pickup Holes Question
Dave Vader replied to Jonnyboy Rotten's topic in Repairs and Technical
Question 2: You could do what [s]I[/s] my friend did, and drill two holes one from each cavity and aim to get them to meet in the middle. Bit of a bugger to shove the wires through, so my friend tells me, but worked eventually. -
Actually I quite like the look, and its a 30" scale. Now if only it was a fiver and considerably cheaper.
Cheaper than a fiver? Cripes...

Chris = Squire; Basses = Squier. That is all.
Actually, you're right. It is pronounced Skwire, but apparently he's been known to throw monstrous sh*t-fits if people pronounce it Skwee-er. I was just trying to get the ball rolling again, if you see what I mean.
Too late, he's skwweeeeeeeer from now on. -
I won't remember the music anyway, so anyone you like, shrink it down a bit, and make it affordable, and not enjoyed by middle-aged, middle class types (such as myself). Or the Dead, Dad may be right on that one....
We mostly play soul and so I tell them to have the bass below the kick
I am constantly surprised by the engineers I meet round here that can't quite grasp the idea of eqing my EUB underneath the kick drum so that they both have a happy place to sit. They raise an eyebrow when I ask them if they can try for that before the gig.
Billy Squier. Pronounced skwee-er. True story.
Really? I have records of his, i have been saying his name wrong... oh well. -

DiMarzio covers (thanks Howard) over Wizard Trads. I wanted it to match my beloved and ancient strat, so needed to be cream. Thanks (I also have a picture somewhere with the black and white cat completing the set, but can't find it) -
It could even be said to be a little better then a 15 verse 3 hour ode to some fisherman who died in the fifteenth century played in DADGAD on a hurdy gurdy at 35 bpm.

Oh, I remember, Party Fears 2, by the associates. Might not be as bad as I remember, but I remember it being a bugger to work out.

They are a bit, the drummer in my band is 16, he loves the Mumfords like they were his personal property, he has since gone on to the hard stuff, and will probably soon be wearing an arran sweater, smoking a pipe and sticking his finger in his ear to do the harmony parts.
Just been working on We Close Our Eyes by Go West. I never knew there was so much in there! I should have realised PP wasn't going to make it that simple. Just the chorus to go now!
I did that one a couple of years ago, hard isn't it? Even worse, after a couple of run throughs in rehearsal, the singist decided we weren't going to do it after all. *angry face*

Covers/tribute band and deep sense of shame? (one for Bilbo there)

Most of what I've said about playing bass on here is bollocks.
Dave Vader replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
Thank you, about time... seriously true though, I was struggling with trying to sort out chords for an Alicia keys song on a guitar dep gig last week. Though i needed 3 more fingers on my left hand, then stopped thinking about it like a guitar player, went back to first musical principles, found the 3 notes that needed to stand out inside the horn parts for each chord, and suddenly the whole thing was a piece of piss. Patterns mess you up, knowing what notes you need to be hitting helps a lot more. -
I miss Larry...
+1 - or think they can play it at all. This is a very classy bass track I have NEVER seen it played properly.
I can do the verse bits perfect. Just like the record....
The thing I dislike about Jake Bugg is that he is just a replica of Bob Dylan. Even down to how he sings, and the old style recording sound that Dylan had. Why bother? Sure, have Dylan as an influence, but why be an exact imitation?
No, he really really isn't. Lightning Bolt was a brilliant song, if it was all old fashioned rock and roll like that i'd be happy. Dylan never sang in a Nottingham accent. Again, really not even close.

Simplicity in music is what punters like. Love me Do had 2 chords (lets now go there just yet though ) I liked the Mumfords first album (for a bit) And then it went the way of Nirvana, Ocean Colour Scene and the Levellers, as it got played at me literally everywhere I went, while earnest dinner party guests asked me how good I thought they were, and continually played the sodding record all night, with their eyes closed... Shame, cos the title track on Sigh No More, is a lovely build up of epic loveliness. It moves from a slow accappella chant (quite haunting) through to a fairly nice little song, and then into a foot-stomping maelstrom of intensity. Really very good. Course you may not agree, but that's fine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7TrU4_-JTY Whereas the new album is tired old tosh with banjos, and I like banjos... It's not folk, it's not bluegrass, it's not indie, it's not new, it's not amazing, but it is enjoyable, whereas Adele is unlistenable whiny bollocks, as is Jake Bugg. Despite the fact that many many people disagree with me about that, I must be right

Is a defretted bass , as good as a fretless ?
Dave Vader replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
True for nuts that fit over the end of a fingerboard, but any that are slotted into the board will probably damage the lacquer getting them out.
And those with radiused bottoms. Couple of minutes with some old roundwound strings and you can file down any nut, very cheaply. -
Been thinking about doing this myself. Can you still see the lines when you play? (Assuming your fingerboard is rosewood too that is. I fancy the unlined look but it would be handy to see a bit of line close up methinks)
Mine was a maple neck with maple inlays (I also filled the position dots with maple veneer to try and get an unlined look. As you can see, it didn't really work. But it is perfectly playable, and looks just fine.
