1. Not my shoes, they were cheap, they look cheap, they are rubbish. Oh, we're talking bass stuff? Sorry
 2.
We all have the right to freedom of speech, do we not? Nothing can take that away from us. But, that doesn't mean you should always exercise that right to it's fullest extent, and why we need to self-edit to keep things moving along in a friendly way.
Nope, it's a fallacy, freedom of speech is curtailed by incitement to terrorism, libel etc. etc.
 3. Surely slapping it on soundcloud or similar now constitutes publishing? Or am I missing something?
 4.
go on ... say its name ...feed it's energy go on go on go on go on go on go on go on go on ....
I cannot, it is about a girl and a car.... that is all I can say.
 5.
My Harley Benton head has started clipping way too early and was making some very odd noises over the weekend. Might have been weird phase issues with the keyboards next to me (damn he was loud) or just my old 15" cabs complaining at not having been out since December. But all very odd.... Will post again after this weekend, where i am using it with a more sensible band.
I did use it with a more sensible band, and it was fine, plenty loud through my 2 15" cabs, and no clipping or weird noises. Must have been the twattingly loud keyboard monitor it was next to.
 6. Phil probably had trouble with Jerry getting stoned and changing keys without telling anyone, if you have no open strings, then you can change key without thinking.

 8. Rickys have utterly mad truss rod adjustment as I recall, it was probably not done properly last time and you have corrected it.
 9. Yep, still keep going back to my much buggered about with Sunn Mustang, which was about 89 quid from and Argos Catalogue 25 years ago. Oh i've tried to love other bases, but it's so nice to play, and it sounds right.
 10. cripes, might have to get an entry in this month then, was going to concentrate on getting other stuff done before the studio gets packed away for the move.
 11. Need as many open strings as you can get, so your left hand is free for sticking up in the Air, Saxon style.
 12.
I was thinking about getting flats for guitar. Usually, I'd go and watch a review on YouTube, but there aren't any for flatwound guitar strings... so guess what i'll be making a review on?
Plectrums? Only guy I know who uses flats on guitar is a proper rockabilly type with a quiff and an ancient hofner. Works for that.
 13.
Their flats were "rough as f***" IIRC. I'm sorry, but i'm not going to compromise a source
Ah, fair enough, forewarned is forearmed as they say, never used flats on guitar anyway, but their roundwound guitar strings are cheap and good and last ages. Never been impressed by their bass strings or acoustics though.
 14. Nothing like what we do now, this was a track Maz wrote before she got the band together, grew up a bit and got into electro-gypsy-dixieland-funk. But it is getting us a free holiday to Brazil.
 15. But you have to know what you want, and I like to see options, and then hit go. Given every possible lead in existence, I gibber a bit and then try and think how long I want it and what type of connectors I want, and then put it off. They could get a lot more business if they chucked up a couple of common lead types, with a price, and the custom option underneath.
 16.
I've heard stories about their flats for guitar, and I can definitely trust the guys opinion on strings!
What guy and what stories? Colour me interested.
 17. I was going to try Laklands at some point as well... hey ho
 18.
It's a shame when this happens. I felt sorry for Jason newstead from metallica, his farmhouse side project was called echo brain, and he got sued by a band call echo drain... I guess he was an easy target with deep pockets but come on surely they could both perform under their respective names without any copyright infringement or confusion. I already have my band name picked out, and can't find a reference anywhere so be on the lookout for "shadow hoax" there it's documented!
Am registering shadow hoax in my name now, retrospectively, I have been in Shadow Hoax since 1924 and was a founding member...
 19.
You can spend considerably less for fantastic quality at http://www.orchid-electronics.co.uk/ (but no one ever seems to).
Possibly because they have price on application on the website, which makes it sound expensive rather than cheap.
 20. Everyone knows black USB sticks sound better.
 21.
I love the way the thumbrest is off a bog seat too - nice touch. Doesn't BC's Outshined have one of these?
Yeah, he did make one. It looked like a Bongo.
 22. We are missing the important question here once again.... What's the best DI for metal?
 23.
I've bypassed the pre in my Harley Benton EUB and run the piezo straight into my ashdown minirig and it sounds really good. So many choices :-)
I am interested in this, are you running it with no preamp at all then? Straight from piezo? Does it have enough output straight into the amp this way? I quite fancy doing this to mine now, just to see what happens. The less things with batteries in, the happier i am.
 24.
Nope It's an intro thread that reads like I should already know who the geezer is. I'm not psychic..... Having read a bit more of the thread it seems others do know him but I can't work out how they could work that out from the opening post. Meh
There was a big thread over the weekend that he was involved in, a lot of us missed it (me included) but apparently it was spectacular. Seems reasonable to expect a few people to know you after such an occurence. You were probably out in the sunshine enjoying yourself like I was TM. Hi Guy btw
