1. opinion does conflict. IME however, I have forgotten to do anything to many necks that I have taken off, and then left lying about for projects that never get finished. When they are finally done, I do any tweaking that needs doing after it's firmly slapped on an instrument. never had any problems. Leave it, you'll be fine.
 2. Is that the return of the horrible Maestro Trem system as well?
 3.
http://basschat.co.u...m/10-recording/
ah haha!
and was getting suspiciously close to creating a concept album, which I'm far too young and short haired to have any truck with...
I am younger than you, and have inadvertently created 4 concept albums at last count. None of them intentionally started that way, and I apologise for them. I do have the wookie haircut to back it up though.
 4. I have been guilty in the past of shouting "Less!" at bands that are not very good in pubs. it is not kind, but it does make me laugh. Sorry if it was any of you lot.
 5. on it...
 6.
You could just call Peavey on 01536 461234 and ask to speak to Sales. I ordered some pots for for a TKO75 and a special 150 they were about £2.40 each
Crikey, that's nearly a fiver
 7. I do have some araldite....
 8. Yesssss...... I can twist that around to work with what I have
 9.
Well in that case... Drill a small hole in the remainder of the pot shaft. Insert a wormwood seed, water it and place a jam jar over it as a makeshift propagator. Once the plant has grown and flowered, allow it to die back and carve the remaining stem into a suitable shaft.
oh I like that plan....
 10.
What do you guys reckon to this one then? http://www.joinmyban...d--t463399.html IMO the guy comes across as a complete dick - mostly CAPS and immediately goes for the ' I wanna be famous' thing. Seems very controlling too
Crazy. Anybody here unafraid to describe themselves as "extremely advanced"? I'm only 35, so I can't really claim that yet....
 11.
Not sure anyone mention Peter hook?
Hondo 2.
 12.
im going to try and do it this month, but ive got a lot on my plate with writing a song a week already haha
make it one of your songs a week and you're sorted.
 13. Oh I can help you there, with this shameless plug, it is black, and the controls are minimal, and it is very much under 100 quid... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/197497-laney-mighty-bass-indestructible-l15-posted/page__fromsearch__1
 14.
Why does young master discreet finish off the milk, then put the empty carton back in the fridge? Answers on a postcard please.
because the bin is full and he doesn't want to empty it, or he has left a tiny bit in the bottom to safeguard his excuse of not actually having finished it. Same as the step-vaders do. Hope this helps
 15.
Don't make it work with Daves idea, I insist!
It'll never work with your half-finished bits from last month Charic, however hard you try....
 16. I already have an idea, please make the picture fit it Skol.... *sternface*
 17.
Changed my mind, little pan head self tapper screwed in to the stub, test it to see if the old pots work then if they do all you need to do is epoxy glue the knob to the head of the screw! There is 64 pence per pot at stake here!
Like it... might even do it later, saves taking the amp out...
 18.
D'addario Preludes are "student" steel core orchestral strings. Nowhere near comparable with Helicores. If you want a REALLY easy playing set of strings on the cheap, look at Alice strings on ebay. Bought a set to pop on a hybrid bass for a local high school - really surprised me - especially for about £20!!! . Decent sound, and you could forget you were playing - that easy! It was a 3/4 bass, and they only had 4/4 strings in stock at the time, so the tension was a smidge TOO low, but if they had been 3/4s they'd have been spot on! I've got 4/4 spirocore mediums on my 3/4 eub. They've been fantastic, play well, sound great through the mag pickup, have low enough tension for quick slapping and have been on for over 5 years.
I just put a set of Alice strings on my EUB. Unfotunately my cutting them down went a bit wrong and the bottom E unwound and became unplayable. Which was annoying. Now I have to pay out for another E string. Bugger... will have to get 3/4 strings next time. Other than that they seem nice.
 19. I love you guys. :)
 20.
Sunn Mustang P-copy....my first bass, and it weighed about 3 tonnes!
I still have one and love it dearly, tis my favourite. Horses f*&^ horses and all that...
 21. have Pmed you back paul
 22. Living in the middle of nowhere as I do, I am hoping to find somebody who can fix my old dodgy pedals for me by having them sent by post, and thus sending them back again after the fix. Can't see why anybody wouldn't do it, but can't find anyone who does this. Anybody here fancy having a go? I've got an old EHX small stone that has intermittent volume drops (fixed by kicking it usually) which also no longer runs on the battery, and a fuzz face clone that is much quieter when it is on than when it is off. Anyone fancy having a go at them? And how much would this sort of thing set me back? (BTW, am using them for guitar, not bass, hope this doesn't prejudice you against them in anyway).
 23.
I haven't nor won't buy off the people who join (or at least appear to join) BC just to flog something. They may be genuine, but I think the BC marketplace is built on a community spirit that involves building trust with other members.
I've got a couple of spiffy bargains off some chaps who have done this. Pay by paypal, and you've got comeback. I've got some stuff from a few guys who are purely here to buy and sell, you never see them in the main forums, but they have solid feedback threads. S'all good. Don't gift or bank transfer to anyone you're not sure about (this does not include me, i am 100% trustworthy, honest guv)
 24.
Yeh If your not having fun making music then erm.......why ? It's a bit like not enjoying sex.....why would you do it ?
For the good of the species.....
