1. 335s and the ilk are known as semi-solid to be super pedantic. Whereas the ES-175 is a semi acoustic. Glad I could help....

It is the one that I would be carrying out of my house while it burned to the ground, stepping over my wife and apologising to her and hoping she understands. (And leaving all my basses and other guitars to burn)
 3. and looking like it's already gone.

Looks good though, and I wish i cuold justify keeping it and building yet another guitar, but i can't, and i want an EUB, so this is going. 50 quid posted to your door, or come meet me in hatherleigh, Devon, and we'll haggle the price and have a drink or two. here is the back... I really am not good at this photography lark, sorry. Came from a no-name JP thing, had already been stripped and defretted when i got it. I reshaped the headstock (sorry about that) and sanded the board down to get all the bumps out of it. It is surprisingly lovely to play. I shall miss it, particularly the attractive bullseye fretmarkers. This one is from the 70s (probably about 74 at a guess) and as such is not pretty. Has velcro stuck to the bottom from my board, and would need loads of adapters to run off a conventional power supply, which is why i've always used batteries in it. It is not better enough then my Worm to warrant having both, so it's up for sale. £45 quid posted to your door, or come over to mine, bring booze, and we'll talk it down (or I could meet you in the pub?) I'm in hatherleigh, devon. bargain for a vintage pedal, possibly? I am trying to fund an EUB, so if you have an old one you don't want i could be persuaded to use this for a part trade. Oh, here is the back, with the velcro and funny power supply output. I am not a photographer..... I've been perfectly happy with this for the last 3 years, but recently got a Harley benton Promethean clone, and can't justify 2 amps. (Particularly when i also have a peavey TNT to do up, and a crappy little practice amp) Sound is nice flat, EQ does enough to tweak it to the room you want, and the boost adds a nice bit of grit for classic rock sounds, DI is decent, the distortion channel is frankly crap if I have to be honest, but I've never felt the need to use it. perfectly decent nick, having travelled to gig locked in the silver box it is sitting on (which you don't get sadly, I'm using that for the HB head when i do big gigs and need big speakers). here's the GK page for tech specs http://www.gallien-k..._bl_series.html Would like [s]£150[/s] £125 posted to your door, or come to mine and pick it up, bring booze, the price will go down I am in Hatherleigh, Devon. Oh, and it has a little handle on the side for carrying it, don't know if that helps? Forgot to mention, am selling stuff to try and fund an EUB, will consider trades for such a thing (or if you have anything really cool, give it a whirl, i am distracted by shiny things) Might also trade it for a decent digital delay pedal, what have you got?
 8. I have a big bag of leads and stuff in the boot of the car. If i am not driving to the gig however, there is most of the useful stuff in my gigbag with the bass.
 9. http://www.bapam.org.uk/documents/1_Dont_cramp_your_style_web.pdf try this rather than a load of scales etc. More effective.
 10. Welcome to another Devonian (we are taking over, slowly)
 11.
Do guitarists have as many guitars as bassists have basses?
More if I'm anything to go by, I have 4 basses, but I also have about 11 guitars (have lost count sadly)
 12.
Does anyone know how basses are sold each year ?
In shops, online, second hand, with money... /coat
 13. There's been a plane crash on the Buddy Holly tour...
 14. Done (managed to hit the right link as well, nearly liked the wrong band... )
 15. If I had £300 and could part with any of my current crop of 4 to make space in the cave of instruments, then I wouldn't even hesitate, but my self-imposed rules are self-imposed rules. Unless I'm going to use it a lot, i can't have one. And I'm only playing fretless with my new band, I have 2 fretted basses sitting in cases doing nothing already. Tempting though...
 16.
I bought my second ever bass (an Aria Pro II Mab-40) and a still going strong Trace Elliot combo from Andertons in the early 90s, and always enjoyed good service. Anyone remember it from its previous location on Haydon Place?
Yep, used to go and look at stuff I couldn't afford in there, when I was staying at my grans for the summer.
Well as you may or may not know we've been around since 1964 and run by three generations of the Anderton family including at current Lee Anderton and while we've always been growing as a business we've never really had any plans to open another store simply because we know that it dilutes customer service and loses some of the heart and soul of the business: the two things that make us who we are! Guildford's a lovely town though, worth the visit!
I knew that, my dad bought his first guitar from you back in 1965. As a Guildford lad at heart (not lived there in over 20 years now) I have to agree with your sentiment.
 17.
You're right I did buy that bass for the gig, it's an 81 SB700 into which I have since bunged an east u-retro pre-amp (was a bit of a tight squeeze as the SB700s are passive basses so have quite small control cavities) - it's a great bass, plays lovely, looks the part, and (with the u-retro installed) has the sounds to match!
I am v. jealous... always wanted one of them but could never justify getting a 5th bass.
 18. Difference is you went out and got a beautiful Aria for the job, and I spent 2 years thinking about getting one, and never did
 19.
Wow 4 bands at once does seem a bit much, unless you are working part time and getting cash from the bands. But a full time job plus 4 bands would leave you not much time to even eat your dinner every night! How did you pick which one?!
I left them all and went off with a new one, the only fair way really. And some of them almost never gigged, so it was easier than it sounds.
 20.
Me with my newly joined 80s tribute band at a recent gig (Dave V's old gig!) Cheers Dave
406197_2699196517167_1174279552_32279505_169785379_n by Plastic Squirrel, on Flickr I can't not post this picture now Dave.... (matching piccys.. )
 21. Nice score. Well done. Get the marshall cab....
 22. I had a quick look, looked a bit Teisco from the brief look I got, but couldn't be sure.
 23.
x1000 I juggled 3 at one point and it's simply not an issue if you are up front with your other bandmates. I also tried not to harp on about the other bands when I was with one band. I play in just one band now as it's easier with my current circumstances but I'm certainly not anti the idea of multiple bands.
Same here, i found myself juggling 4 last year, was okay (except I was a bit too busy for my liking) Then i missed out playing a really great festival with an originals band because of a pub gig that had been booked for a year with a covers band, that was when i thought I had to cut down. Only one band for me now.
 24.
Typical. I even started my own thread to find out if anyone knew someone who could. I'm after a black one with gold lettering. I may have to give Jon a shout. Thanks for the tip.
No worries, i know he's been on extended hiatus recently, there was also a guy in australia who did them in vinyl, I think if you google rickenfaker TRC he turns up. Oh, actually he seems to have vanished down the listings, worth a google hunt though, he offered to do me one before i got hold of Jon.
 25.
I'm still trying to find someone who can make me one of these....
Ha ha! That is mine, i recognise my table top. here she is finished S6301252 by Plastic Squirrel, on Flickr Jon (Bassassin) made that for me
