1. I saw Den (Telebass) in the Rock 'n' Roll Outlaws at the Wife's works do a couple of years ago, but i think that's it. I don't get to a lot of gigs these days (too busy playing). Would like to see any of you lot playing, and might manage it this year, I am less busy.
2.
Re winding the string the wrong way. It`s almost as annoying as people who leave the un-trimmed ends of the string hanging out, mostly on guitars but I have seen it on a few basses. Or people who don`t put the end of the string down into the hole on the tuner peg Jez
I always leave a nice long end on my guitar strings hanging out, means i can tie them back together when they break at the bridge end. It's my guitar I can do what I like with it
3. I am playing up in that there London next wednesday, at the Bull and Gate in Kentish Town to be precise, and management have told us to invite all the people we know up there. I have now got to the age where all the people I knew in London have moved down here to get away from it. So I'm telling you lot instead. http://www.clubfanda...gig.php?id=2323 There's a link to the page on the pubs website. Here's a link to Maz http://www.reverbnat...m/maztotterdell and a youtube vid what she did recently which is nice... And lastly, I have been told it's an amp share night, and i don't have to lug my rig all the way there. If it is your rig i might be using, do PM me, and I will put your mind at ease. Any BCers around that night, do come and say hello, i'll be the wookie with the bass, behind all the yoong pretty people....
4.
As I have no evidence with which to rebut your suspicion, all I can say is ask me how it's doing in a year's time - the first year of my five year warranty.
5-year warranty as well? I'm having a lot of trouble stopping myself buying one of these neep...
5. Nice one, i got my current gig through a twist of fate as well, heard a song on the radio, googled the artist and found out she 1) Lived nearby, and 2) needed a band. So I emailed, and I got the gig. I got most of my gigs through pub-related meetings before though.
6. You are right. That is all.
7. [quote]The American Standard Stratocaster has been upgraded with aged plastic parts
Downgraded then?
8.
Look at it this way. If he had introduced you to some bird you subsequently had a relationship with, you wouldn't ring him up and tell him every time you shagged her, would you?
But that's what i normally do... just me?
9.
do you find the skinny strings on guitars cause more probs than bass strings though? - bass strings is fine with me but as soon as i start noodling around on my old 6string acoustic it does start to take its toll in very little time at all
I find it's whichever one I've been neglecting most recently.
10. You sir are not playing hard enough. Shame on you...
11. Oh, and it was going to be mostly multi-instrumentalists so's we could hop instruments to suit all eventualities.
12. having finally cut down to 1 band, I had a concept for a 2nd band, made up entirely of guys in other bands, with essentially 2 line-ups that could be interchangeable at a moments notice. A kind of covers collective so that if anyone gets a last minute booking with an important gig, they can go, and one of the rest of the collective could take over. As long as everyone was fairly busy it should work.... Ever been done before? I was going to call it "The Deps"
13. Happens a lot, if I get a weekend or two without gigs, the next gig or two usually result in blood and gunk on the strings from a popped blister.
14. I really want one now. need to sell some stuff....
15. Ahem, Johnny Thunders, Chinese Rocks. Oh yes.
16. I have a 99 Epi SG with Gibson on the headstock. Carry on...

20. My favourite mistype is this one here...
As good as new: When Mr Newman, left, first saw the guitar it was badly damaged - but he's not restored it to its former glory
22.
Reminds me of that joke, 'what d'you call a dog with wings?'...
and that other one, "new sanitary towels with wings? better than....."
23. I gig with a brand new bass, I bought it in 1989, oh hang on...
24.
Adidas stands for All Day I Dream About Sex
And do it daily after school (at least it did when i was 12...)
