  1. I want them to release another Uplift Moto Party Plan!
  2. It's bang average - like 'Unlimited Love' as an album. I really don't like this modern template they adhere to, Kiedis trying to sing, big choruses - verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo. Another thing I really notice is the production. It's super powerful and clean, yet weirdly empty. They need to dirty up the mixing and mastering process. It suits their chaotic sound (as a live band) a lot more.
  3. Brand new, sealed. Here we have my EMG BTS 2 band preamp. This was supposed to go onto my old Modulus Flea Bass, but since I've sold that, I have no use for this. EMG blurb ; The BTS Control is a 2-band equalizer for Bass guitar. The BTS features single-pole filters for broadband equalization. Often the broader single-pole filters are preferred for musical instruments because they are less selective, easier on the ear, and sound more “musical”. One of the features of the BTS Control is a 2-position dip-switch that controls the slope of the high frequency response. By choosing one of the four combinations the high frequency response can be tailored to your liking. The BTS Control has a high input impedance and can be used with active or passive pickups. Bass and Treble controls are mounted on a concentric shaft and knobs are included. IN THE BOX 2 CONTROL KNOBS, 2 EXTRA KNOBS, OUTPUT JACK, AND BATTERY CLIP SET. £60 posted in the UK
  4. Brand new in box and sealed. This was supposed to go onto my Modulus Flea bass, but has become surplus to requirements since I sold the bass. These are currently out of stock at EMG. Blurb from EMG ; The MMHZ is a direct replacement for the original Music Man bass pickup. This passive pickup features a ceramic and steel humbucker design for low noise and plenty of output. This bass pickup has the punch and fullness of a traditional passive with added top end for a more defined tone. The five pin connector allows multiple wiring combinations so you can get both dual-coil and single-coil tone with simple switching. Each pickup is fully shielded for a minimum of noise. IN THE BOX PACKAGE INCLUDES EMG'S EXCLUSIVE SOLDERLESS INSTALL SYSTEM: 1 250K VOLUME POT 1 250K TONE POT 1 MONO OUTPUT JACK 2 PAIR MOUNTING SCREWS 1 BRIDGE GROUND CONNECTOR 1 PICKUP CABLE 2 CONNECT CABLES 1 OUTPUT CABLE 1 BRIDGE GROUND WIRE " £60 posted within the UK.
  5. Strange one, this. You don't lay off that amount of employees unless there's something seriously wrong. I wonder what's going on?
  6. Recently sold my Flea to Paul. Prompt payment, great comms. Got the bass collected from me. Absolutely zero hassle. Deal with complete confidence!
  7. Recently sold my USA SUB to Drew. Prompt payment, great comms, no issues. Deal with confidence! Enjoy the bass, mate!.
  8. As other people are alluding, when you actually stop to ponder it, considering the work that went into them and the materials used, Status were/are amazing value, especially compared to other UK bass brands that shall remain nameless. I'm really glad that I got to meet Rob and Dawn when picking up my first Graphite neck for my Stingray and look around the workshop. Real UK bass history, right there. As I left, Dawn remarked to me that I should "come back soon and order one of the proper ones". I'm sad I'll never get to do that as it was on my list!
  9. Modulus and Zon are the only ones that spring to mind. Maybe Bogart?
  10. Sad news. The end of an era. Reading between the lines though, it seems he might license the name out.
  11. I've experimented with all gauges over the years, settling on 40-95. IMO, gauge makes zero difference to tone. My 35-95's were just as powerful and bassy as a standard 45-105 set. You could get a slightly twangier tone if needed, due to the pliability of them, but IMO, Wrap material, core construction, etc, are the real sources of tonal differences.
  12. I'm going to be a heretic and state that they all sounded more or less the same to me. The Xotic seemed to be a bit brighter, the Alleva duller and the Fender somewhere in the middle . But, fundamentally, a figurative gnats c*** between them.
  13. Land of Hope and Glory - the Madness version!
  14. The only bass that can get 9/10ths of the way to Stingray sound, is a G&L. L2000 and Kilotons. Not surprising really, given the shared DNA. If it's a generalised aggressive sound you want, Warwick Thumb is your boi.
  15. How contrived. The true spirit of Rock and Roll!
  16. Thank you kindly! I know Stroud well!
  17. I bought one of these last week, but sent it back due to poor QC. Dark streak under the finish, the bass was coated in some weird orangey substance from manufacture and the tone control didn't work. How it passed inspection is beyond me. It also had some chipping in the neck pocket paint. Beautiful looking thing though. Sounded absolutely incredbile. The grain on the indian laurel fretboard was stunning. Bizarrely the frets on mine were probably the best finished I've seen on any brand new bass I've owned! Damn shame really. Took a refund instead.
  18. To those that need to embed. If you're using mobile, it doesn't work properly. The way to make it work is; Go to the desktop version of YouTube. Copy the link from there. Then paste the link into the body of the text box. It won't work if you use the URL box. @ped + Mods, maybe take a look at this? Been like this for ages! I always have problems with it!.
  19. The incomparable king. Stuart Zender. Never overly flashy and completely 100% in the pocket at all times. With a tone and feel that are utterly to die for. My hero *stops fawning*
  20. Not sure on the neck profile -maybe someone can chime in and confirm?
  21. Thank you very much! If it helps, I really don't mind travelling a fair distance to meet/drop off, provided you don't live in Lands End or John O'Groats. If you do, then I retract my statement!
  22. Thank you! And yes, quite correct - it tunes just like any other normal bass (just stays in tune better the further up the neck).
  23. *I've obtained some packing materials (from another bass I've purchased) and this can now be shipped if required (at cost to the buyer)* Here we have my 2004 Modulus Flea with Seymour Duncan Pickup and Bartolini 2-band preamp. Comes with fitted Modulus Hardcase. As much as I adore this bass, since I now play in 3 functions bands, I'm solely playing 5-strings. So this has been sat around, barely used in months. The constant travelling around in a BMW, lower to the ground than a snakes belly, is doing my entire body in, night on night, so this is being sold to go towards something that will allow myself to arrive and depart gigs in one piece. Condition wise it's 8.5/10. Some marks on the back in the poly lacquer (that you can't see) and the usual slight flaking of the black finish in a couple of small places, on the side of the fretboard, that all Moduli seem to suffer from. Weight is 4.1kg. Located in Moreton-in-Marsh. Which borders Warwickshire,Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. Priced at £2800. Value on these is only going one way. Therefore, not too worried if this one doesn't sell. Edited for trade - The only things that could tempt me are a Warwick Streamer Stage 2 5er and a Musicman Stingray 5 Special. It *has* to be the special due to needing a lighter weight, with a good lump of cash my way.
