1. Increasingly hard to find, and I'm thinking in the back of my mind I should keep this as a spare, but it's up for sale. Here it is, there's not much to say about it really, works perfectly. I'm not sure if it's meant to have a downlighter like the DTR-2000 but if it does (it has what looks like it should), then it unfortunately doesn't work, but that doesn't affect the unit in the slightest... No trades, unless you're willing to do a straight swap for a vintage Harley
2.
Phew! Thanks to this thread I have now deleted my order for two BF cabs. I feel soo relieved, and am very happy Alex was willing to delete that particular order, and send me two BF strippers instead. Thanks, guys! Wait!
LOL
3. I've just decided to restring my Ex Factor for the first time, I left the strings it came with on it out of fear of not wanting to change them after the problems I'd read about online. I now have that problem. I've removed the old strings, loosened the tuners as far as possible, dropped the string end into the slot of the wheel, clicked it round as far as it will go with just finger pressure and then started tuning. The problem is it won't go into tune, it stops a note or 2 short on each string. I've tried removing the strings and trying again, but still I can't get the strings tight enough. In an effort to make this as painless as possible I bought the strings from Kubicki hoping these ones would be easier to use!? It feels like the wheel just needs to clicked round a few more cliks before I start tightening with the tuner but I have no idea how to do that without the use of a screwdriver in the wheel teeth, and I'm pretty sure that is a no no. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
4. Damn that configurator... I want this.
5. Here's my sofa. Excuse the basses blocking the view
6.
My new 1983 USA Jazz, it's adorable, a very sexy bass indeed. A dream Fender neck for me, shallow, solid, glossy, a delight to play.
I'm in love... that's stunning!
7. This just made me think.... I wonder when amp/cab manufacturers are going to start selling 'relic' gear...
8. Likewise, I didn't buy the cab to look pretty onstage. If I wanted something pretty onstage we'd get strippers on stage with us. What I wanted an amazing sounding cab that didn't break my back carrying it, and that's exactly what I have. That said, I don't see the cab as ugly by any stretch, it looks great. it's rough and ready, way more rock'n'roll that some super shiny sparkly piece of crap!
9. It looks like Billy Sheehan could well be there if that helps swing your decision....?
10. But his fake SB1000 is still listed... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=141037567469
11. Haha, caught him out on the SB1000 too. He;s asking me for info on it now so he can correct the listing. So tempted to feed him a nonsense model number and see if he changes the listing.... Dear steviec99, I'm not having a good here. I bought the bass in 1995 and it was still in a plastic bag untouched, not a mark on it and was told it was a 1980 model, which was of no real interest, so if you know better then please can you tell its correct year or thereabouts so I can correct this again. I am presently trying to clear my name on a bass guitar forum due to me putting up somebody else's photos in error and only being told after the event by ebay that they cannot be removed. - ambience13tim Dear ambience13tim, Hi, The new photos you've posted aren't a 1980 bass either... - steviec99
12. I mailed him asking why neither of the pics were of a 1980 SB1000, thats a SB1000JT and a SB1000 1983 onwards he's using to try and sell it....
13. Meh... supporting the upcoming British businesses maybe? I didn't mind giving Alex my cash and waiting for a handmade cab to turn up (pre CNC order). I still wouldn't mind now as long as I wasn't left in the dark with no customer service wondering what had happened to my money or something crazy like that...
14. I know they've been playing catch up at BF, 2 of my mates had a similar wait time, but the cabs did show up of course. Believe me, they're worth the wait!
15. Yeah, the silver cloth finish is awesome...
16. bacon, furry basses and anal. gotta love derailing
17.
I like the way you slipped that in there :-)
That's what she said...

19. It's moisture in the speakers and electrics that has always worried me, but it totally depends on the garage. One that is part of the house will generally be warmer and drier than a standalone garage...
20.
I kept my original amp out in the garage for years with no problem - it electrocuted the guy I sold it too but certainly no problem for me!
That made me laugh out loud
These days my cab is flightcased and I throw a table cloth over it so it acts as a side table when not in use
I do the same, the wife loves it... actually she just about about abides it, but it's not going in the garage at any rate!!
21.
I like potato salad.

I still prefer bacon
...oh and Barefaced cabs
