1. My course with Jon is all booked! Me and a mate are up there in September building our basses (or doorstops if it all goes wrong)! I'll have the camera charged and I'll get a build diary up when I get back... might even post pics each night as it comes along if we can stay out the pub long enough, which will be hard as we are staying in a pub for the week!!
2. Thanks Stig, but it looks a bit too metal for my liking...
3. I've been playing for years now, I've got a stack of experience touring and recording, and a full kit of pro gear. I'm influenced by 70s/80s hard rock & punk. If you listen to AC/DC, Kiss, Guns N'Roses, Crue, Aerosmith, Velvet Revolver, Ramones, Damned, Clash then drop me a line if you have a decent band who need a hard rock bassist. I'm based around West London area. Cheers Steve
4. sounds killer. shame i cant commit to f/t right now....
5. How about this... My '85 Fender Jazz Bass Special, sat with her black counterpart.
6. great bass, i've got 2 of them. absolutely love them!
7. Bugger, think I need a bigger couch.
8. bugger, you go away for a week and look what happens... anyone else got one?
9. Thanks mate! The black one started life fretless until I modified it (or as SiBob says, I butchered it), and the white one used to a hideous metallic green!
10. My pair, both from 1985. The white one has new pickups. A SD Hot Stack at the bridge and a Fender P'62 at the neck.
11. I'll get some pics of my pair up soon, a black and a white from '85.
12.
No idea who's in charge at Fender these days!!
This guy >>

15.
And a Jazz neck profile.
Arent the jags jazz neck anyway?
16. I have mild gas looking at it... oh no...
17.
That can't be a Fender - some imagination would be required for this and as we know Fender are about as imaginative as Porsche designers!!..
Haha!!
18. They've finally remembered that bass exists! A reverse jaguar with decent circuitry, yes please!
19.
Why don't you Google "fender replacement bridge" and take it from there.
Fear not, I did that for quite a while and the only ones I could find that were aftermarket non-branded replicas were in the US...
20.
http://www.allparts....g-2-p-1666.html Fender BBOT style and it comes in black
That's perfect, thanks! Not sure how I missed that one, I did look on Allparts!
21. I need a replacement Fender bridge, ideally I'd like Fender to supply me with one but I'm finding that near impossible. I need a 5 hole black bridge. I've looked at Gotoh 203, but the baseplate is too thick this giving me high action, the 201 has 2 extra holes needed to be drilled, Schaller don't make a black one, Wilkinson do a black one but the saddles are shiny brass.. I'm having no luck so far, I need the one from the Duff signature model but it seems impossible to get hold of! Any ideas or thoughts??
