4. so tempting....
5.
She heads straight for the nads, once thats over and done with its fine!
bloody hell... must remember to pack the cricket box then...
6.
Likewise-I found this by far the best way-far easier than all the woodwork-but I've given up on straplocks altogether now, and gone back to Grolsch bottle washers. I still don't understand why Schaller insist on using those silly little screws to go into a hole which is almost invariably bigger than they are designed to go in (story of my life ).
haha
7. I'm with you on enlarging the hole in your strap, but for the screw-bass part, the easiest and best way I've found is using the original bass screw and the Schaller StrapLock together. Drill the StrapLock button out very slightly to take your original screw then simply screw back in. No adjustment or mods needed to the bass at all and the connection will be as tough as nails, after all it's using the original screw.
8. Shame its not a 5string or I'd have bitten your arm off for it!
9. Ah okay, thanks for that. I was wondering if I bought a 2nd hand SR5 if it would have the same neck size as the current ones, I'd seen some stuff about making thinner necks for the 5s but wasn't sure if the current spec was that new thinner neck or the standard for a 5. Cheers!
10. Excuse my ignorance here guys... Has the 5 string Stingray always been 1-3/4" (44.5 mm) at nut? I remember seeing something about the possibility of EB making a SLO Special 5 with skinnier necks. I've never taken much notice of the 5 strings until recently, and been now looking at getting hold of one for some low B goodness. I really don't want a tree trunk of a neck though, and the Ray is slimmer than the Jazz (47.6mm at nut) so it looks like Ray is the way forward without having to buy into modern bass shapes which really aren't my thing, so no Warwick or Ibanez. Any help and info would be great. Thanks
11. Yeah, can't wait. My lack of woodworking skill could be an issue, hopefully Jon will guide me through it so I don't come home with a useless cricket bat of a bass!
12. I used to have one of these. Probably the best sounding MM I've ever played, kind of regret parting with it to be honest...
13. They look absolutely gorgeous. You're a very lucky man, worth all the waiting now! I cannot wait to get up there and build mine on the build course!!
14. still available?
15.
He clearly can, this thread is evidence of it
Haha!!
16. Have you got a better photo please?
17. Hi. Nice looking bass, do you have the neck specs, ideally the width at nut? Cheers
18. It was 6am... I knew what you meant! That's better than my English would have been at that time of day...
