1. Sorry, but not really interested in a BA300, I've got a BA500 up for sale here too! No need for a SVT3 Pro either as just bought a GenzBenz Shuttle 6.0 If you want to buy it for cash that'd be awesome!
 2.
are you looking for a cash only deal if you were to part with it?
I was really, what were you thinking? You don't have a Barefaced S12T you want to trade for it do you? ;-)
 3. All in great condition considering it's now 25 years old. Minor scuffs on the tolex, and a few paint scuffs on the knobs. Most of the other ones I've seen of the 500 have lost a knob or two...
 4. Not 100% sure if I really want to sell this. It's my baby, Its the one thing I'd rush into my house for if it was on fire to rescue...on the flip side it doesn't get enough use now that I'm not playing big gigs all the time. Built in 1987 when Ampeg was taken over, made in USA not Asia out of SVT parts but effectively supercharged! Here's a brief history of the amp from one of the guys who actually built it: LINK Its a monster. You will never find a better Ampeg tone, if you've always wanted that legendary Ampeg thunder then this is it, plus some more... Pics below.... It's hard to put a price on it, but I'm thinking £1250. Possible trade for your Barefaced S12T Super Twelve if you have one?
 5. Impatient is an understatement with me. Tried them out and bought myself the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 A very happy man, now to sell the Ampegs.... Thanks for all your advice and thoughts guys, much appreciated!
 6. Ampeg BA500 combo for sale at £550. For Sale only, not interested in trade unless you have a Barefaced S12T on offer. I'll upload some pics tonight. Built in USA. It's a great amp, but I'm having a thinning out of my gear, it doesn't get enough use now. It sounds monstrous, a huge Ampeg sound out of a small compact combo. I've got a SVT-Skunkworks head, the absolute Ampeg beast and this has the same sound, its incredible. When you tilt it you can annoy the rest of the band and the venue in seconds, it thumps out the bass. The castors help with moving it about (plus no castor rattle or roll when playing), its heavy but manageable, I've had a spine op and I can still carry it easy enough. I'll be sad to see it go, had it since new. I can ship it, but it'll probably cost quite a bit. You're more than welcome to collect from me or if you're not too far away we could meet half way if possible. Here's the corpoate Ampeg blurb for you.... The BA-500 is loaded with professional features including a 1" compression horn with Level control for detailed high-end, a 9-band Graphic EQ, selectable Pre/Post Balanced Line out, Mute switch and a defeatable Limiter. The tilt-back design adds extraordinary functionality to the BA-500, making it the ideal on-stage monitor. In true Ampeg tradition, the BA500 offers you more power, performance, and flexibility than any other combo amp in its class.

350-Watts RMS
9-Band Graphic EQ
Mute Switch
Effects Loop
Specifications

RMS Power Output: 350-Watts with Internal Speakers
RMS Power Output: 500-Watts with Extension Speakers
LF Driver: 2 x 10" Speakers
HF Driver: 1" Compression Driver with Level
Preamp: Solid-State
Power Amp: Solid-State
Tone Controls: 3-Band EQ
Mid Tone Control: Ultra Mid
Balanced Line Out: Yes, Pre/Post Send, -20dB Pad
Preamp Out/Power Amp In: Yes
Effects Loop: Yes
Dimensions (W x H x D inches): 24 x 23.5 x 17.25
Weight: 86 Pounds
7.
I'll have to dust down my Jupiter 8, I think I even have the Hungry like a wolf Sequencer settings still! I even have more hair than Nick Rhodes! lol
Dig it out and call me!!
 8. Here's my 1980 SB700. Its a beauty, 100% original with hardcase.
 9.
I think you've got the right idea, to meet the full quota of fun and authenticity you need to go the whole hog and get the image right as well. That's part of the appeal with DD! The synth player and singer in my band are huge DD fans, but our singer is a drummer in a functions band so a lot of his time is taken up with that. It's a shame as both of them would nail Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor's parts, being fans and good musicians themselves!
You should persuade them all to do DD then, you could use the gig case to fund Super8 Cynics....
 10. Thanks guys. I'll make sure he packs it like hi slife depends on it! Unfortunately for the packing its a through neck so detaching isnt an option, but great idea for any future shipping! Cheers, I can always rely on BC for an answer to life, the universe and everything!
 11. Has anyone found a courier frim that they can trust and that will still proivde insurance for your bass if it's couriered without a hardcase? A chap is selling me his bass, but he has no case for it, he can put it in a cardboard box and bubblewrap/foam it to protect it, but he has no hard case. Any suggestions aside from driving down to Cornwall myself to collect it? Cheers
 12.
Check out this picture of my old band (taken about 3 years ago now). How's that for a dodgy JT haircut? Who says dyed-red mullets can't come back in fashion? To be fair I didn't actually get any stick at the time, the punters loved it! Looks a bit dubious looking back on it now, though I'm still channelling John Taylor image-wise. Got the dance moves nailed on, too! Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Awesome Jack! There is a tribute band up north at the moment (maybe Manchester), I think they're just called "Duran: A Tribute", they don't do the image though, just play the songs, so if you sort a decent tribute out that'd be awesome. They did have a great singer though, although I think he left, Simon Le Blond. Loving the red mullet, JT would be proud ;-)
 13. Never wanted my work bonus to turn up so much as I do now for one of these...
 14. I'm in a similar situation, there's a load of advice on my post "What amp should I get?" just below your post in the forum. Have a look on there, might be of help to you. I'm off to Bass Direct once I get my new cab from Barefaced to try out a range of amps side by side. Steve
 15. Great to meet you too John, the bass will be well looked after at its new home! Cheers
 16.
Not sure about the looks but interested in the project - certainly could learn the licks.......!
If you can chuck on some slap and pull of the new-ro image you'll be fine!
 17. BUMP! Still looking for the perfect members for the band. I know there's a ton of other muscians here other than bassists, or maybe you know someone who'd want to do this? We're going to play old Duran Duran tunes, up to View To A Kill era most likely. We're doing this properly though, so you'll need to be willing to do the makeup, the hair, the whole New Romantic image... Plus, we want to do this as authentically as possible with the right gear, Prophet synths, Yamaha SG90 guitars etc...
 18.
You found a guitarist yet...?
We're still looking for the perfect Andy at the moment. If you've got the licks and the looks that'd be amazing!
 19. I play another instrument too, the purple oboe... I wont post any pics up of it here though.
 20. Did a trade with John this wekend, thoroughly nice bloke. A good and honest chap, would happily do business again with him. Thanks John!
 21.
Not sure. It's not the sort of stuff I do, but if you could find somewhere to A/B it I would add the Streamliner to the (evergrowing ) list. The STM has bass, middle & treble controls with a selection of three bands for the mids so you might well find it there. The Shuttle probably has more overall control, but like I say for me it wasn't what I wanted.
Thanks, I'll go try them out
 22.
You could have three - it's my real name. Thankfully I'm bald, fat and talentless so the tribute circuit can be spared
Haha!
 23.
So far I have used it for classic rock, prog & country/Americana gigs and it has been great for all styles.
I would need a nice middly 80s pop tone out it too, have you managed to get something like this out if it without it sounding too modern and clinical?
