1. Absolutely get a wireless and an rcb for your amp as well, while you're at it a mains filter will be a good idea as well if they're running from a generator. And a hat
2. Yes as above - I swapped the tuners on my paisley bass to wilkinson as the reverse tuners were doing my head in! Good solid stay in tune so all you need
3. It may be best to give them a ring, they have to get all the bar drinks there and won't us the steps ( I'd hope) - hopefully they have jeep or something that can help you out at low tide or something. Looks a fantastic venue though
4. yep pretty near me as well; that's cool
5. Where abouts in surrey are you Dan?
6. Tell her that all the bass notes happen on the bass and she doesn't need to play them
7. bass...cleaning.... bass...cleaning.... nope never heard of it - isn't that why you buy a new one?
8. I usually take the "if it works and it doesn't hurt then who gives a sh*t approach"
9. I'd hold onto it Clarky - two years isn't long for soft tissue damage in a hand to sort itself out - I broke my foot years ago and it took about 5 years to settle down. I'd hold onto it, give your hand some more time while continuing to play and hopefully you might surprise yourself
10. Stainless roundwounds mine last errm longer than my bass
11. Damn I'd be up for this - exactly what I used to do in Vinyl Tap and have been missing it greatly of late - lead and BV as well; might even have the inflatable Stonehenge in the loft as well. HH is long way though
12. Nice bit of bass playing in the school at the concert tonight- hello if it was you
13. Here you go Mel, why not try one of these as discussed http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squier-Bronco-Bass-/111033869291?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item19da2263eb If you like it you can upgrade to a mustang - Alan Lancaster a playing one at hammersmith last week and it sounded so awesome I've even looking at one myself. If it's a bit far I'm sure we can arrange a delivery relay
14. I used to suffer from this a lot when I started playing mad rock n roll on the double bass, keep hydrated, water or lucozade sport but more importantly warm your hands and arms up, try sweatbands if you like, warm up exercises or if you're really in a rush stick them under the air blower in the loo for a few minutes! Bananas are supposed to be great too, potassium rich etc
15. no, you just won't be able to driver the unit to it's optimum that's all, wont damage the speaker...
16. http://www.tecni-cable.co.uk do a search on Bowden Cable
17.
I'm in based on playing a Fender Precision in a Covers Band, and shameless with it.
Oh no. Dear me no. One, here, plays a replica of said Messrs Fender Inc Precision Electric Bass by my good friends the Laklands in a popular beat combo playing non original music in various establishments around the southern fox hunting regions. I'm awfully sorry but don't qualify. So sad. Must dash.

19. bring them along - the car park under the flyover has lovely views and you'll only be a couple of hours or so
20. yes great album, as was Hello and Quo, Blue for you as well; real variation and some great songs - A year from Piledriver is about as far from the stereotypical Quo song as you could get. It's easy to forget with the 90s pastiche they became just what a fine rock band they were in the 70s - they were quite a shock to the quaint music scene at the time and you could argue gave punk a bit of a feeder as well. It all started to go wrong with Rockin all over the World...damn you Fogerty
21. So I'm off to see the proper Quo on Friday (and Saturday ) at Hammersmith just been looking at the you tubes of Wolverhampton and Manchester and they look in brilliant form; Nuff despite his illness and frailty can still bloody play and (all respect to Rhino) the soul seems to have returned to the band. No rocking all over the world, no margeritas or oriental or bridges just pre '74 songs played the way they should be - and April Spring Summer and Wednesdays in the set as well I can't wait til Friday
22. Breathing, timing, mic control and knowing your voice enough to be able to hit a note without hearing yourself. I think most Karaoke flatters the singer to be honest as it's strict tempo so they don't have to concentrate of variations in tempo or fills and typically can hear everything they sing - I think an average singer can sound good at it. In a live situation there's many more variables that can make a good singer sound average so to be able to get to a great sound needs great skills. Certainly in my experience I've auditioned lots of Karaoke singers that simply don't cut the mustard in a live band mainly for projection and timing reasons.
23.
Offers will be listened to for Hillman Avenger in brown with vinyl roof - 10 days MOT and 2 weeks Tax
Is that the healthy diet brown metallic or the too many bananas monkey pile solid colour? My dad had the four headlight monkey squit model with matching velour (colour only, we didn't let any monkeys in the car but they did peel a bit of the roof at Windsor safari park) anyway, I'd probably go to two maybe two pound fifty if it's in good nick!
24. sounds to me that with two overdriven guitars that you need a more clean bass sound to punch through - you're probably getting swamped by loads of fuzz. Get a cleaner sounding amp, push the middle freqs, could also consider swapping the compact for a Super T if you;re very keen. Had the same problem with a band with keyboards
