1.
i am gonna sell my fender roscoe beck 5, if someone is interested!!!!
Lovely bass - always wondered about getting one myself & that'll be £7 please, you can pay Ped when you post the proper advert
 2. Amazing quality for the price. Actually scrub that, its amazing quality at twice the price!
I think the only niggling down I have on this, is the burst doesn't carry onto the belly cut (i.e. it's all black), looks strange to my eyes. But that really is *TRYING* to find an issue with it lol, it wouldn't stop me from buying one.
Not sure they'd be able to have the burst through the belly cut as its a flame maple cap - it would show the alder underneath - I think that's why they've done it like that anyway.
 3. As long as the abrasion hasn't gone through the dermis - i.e. you're not actually bleeding with a cut etc then your skin should still be watertight and applying superglue won;t cause you to have an infection. If it is cut and you seal it up with a load of dirt/bugs in there, then you might have troubles. Non clinical superglue is fairly acidic and some are exothermic when they cure as well so you can get burns; clinical ones like dermabond don't have these side effects. Anyway it works so long as you're happy with the slight risks and you know about open wounds etc - either that or just use some surgical tape; sweat resistant and very thin.
 4. I don't know whether I like it or not. I definitely don't like the gap between the neck and body though! They should have spent less time sodding about in the paint shop and more time training the 3 year old with the router!
 5.
What they do have an impressive skill in is copying
I'd say it's more engineering they have impressive skill in, far more than their aesthetic design skills. It's kind of like Japanese cars, they're superb, beautifully made, but miss the target visually - there was a feature a while ago that said European and American cars used compound radius curves and Japanese contestant radius ones to explain one of the differences in fundamental design outlook. Don't know if that's true but Yamaha basses look more "clunky" and less beautiful to my eye than, say, a fender. Anyway I still want a 2024
 6.
Think I may have posted one of those further back in the thread...
well hurry up and buy it then get GAS for something else so I can get it second hand!
 7.
And as if by magic, this suddenly arrived in my in-box: Hello! I'm sorry you're getting the mail from me at this Point in time,my family and I came down here to Istanbul, Turkey for a short vacation unfortunately we were mugged at the park of the hotel we stayed, all cash credit cards and cell were stolen off but luckily for us we still have our passports with us. I have been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all and our flight leaves pretty soon from now but we're having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let us leave until we settle the bills. Please be so kind to reply back so I can tell you what to do and how to get some cash to us. I'm freaked out at the moment Now this is from the Outbox of a guy I used to play 5-a-side with, never a particular friend of mine, haven't seen him in at least five years. Unfortunately, his use of English (he's a native Londoner) is - if anything - even worse that this, but bears no resemblance to this sort of speech ("Please be so kind ..." etc.).
Well once I send my credit card details off to the address for the Australian Lottery like they asked me to (I got a letter on Saturday telling me I've won $112,000,000 Aus - that must be errm £30 in real money) I'll send you some to give to them. Just send me over your bank details and mothers maiden name and I'll make the transfer. Oh and O.P. - nah not a chance
 8. Vinyl Tap, the Spinal Tap tribute band. Now residing in the Where Are they Now file
 9.
It takes a man to play pink.
Oh yes I'm all man, me. Well except eves and weekends of course Pink's just a colour - in Pre Victorian times pink was considered masculine and powder blue a feminine one
 10.
Shell pink is fine but I'd go white pearl pickguard and white pickup covers.
<spang> (sound of nail being hit right on the head) Good move sir!
... and rosewood fretboard.
...and snatches defeat from the jaws of victory .... Oh dear
 11.
Not our drummer, carpet or stage but you get the idea.
Wow someone is over compensating for something aren't they
 12. Not sure about the Tort pickguard with it - but with a white one it would be great
 13. we use Mackie SRM 150s (Behringer do an excellent replica as well) and they're excellent - really tiny, sit on a mic stand so they're really close and they sound crystal clear.
 14.
I laughed at the thought of Cameron's bassface
The "b" in this case being silent
 15. Hello from someone else in Epsom
 16. The annoying thing is I really do like them - I just can't get on with how they sound. Maybe I should just get one with P bass pickups.
 17. I've tried loads over the years and always sold them on - love the looks but the sound is just weedy and not smooth enough to my ear - doesn't sit in the mix anywhere near as nicely as a Precision.
 18.
I was the same until I got my Lakland skyline Bob Glaub. It's by far the best precision I've ever owned.
Same here, my Duck Dunn (the '59 one based on the Bob Glaub not the later one with the Jazz neck) is simply brilliant. I'll still get another US one at some stage I suppose, probably a 60's or 70's one maybe and I still have the paisley one - I can't see me using anything but my Duck Dunn though.
 19. There's lots of songs I don't particularly like but so long as the audience do then I'm happy to play them. It's when you like them but the audience don't that there's a problem Sometimes find I play songs I don't particularly like pretty well as I tend to be more detached and scientific about them rather than getting carried away - I concentrate on the bassline rather than enjoying the whole I suppose..
 20. make it out of a pen blank like these on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR6.TRC1.A0.H0.Xpen+blank.TRS0&_nkw=pen+blank&_sacat=0 dead easy & you can get some brilliant woods - stick it on with no nails tape
 21.
I wouldn't use that type of stand personally. I had one for christmas about 3yrs back and found that when they accidentally get knocked from the back or side the bass swings forward like a pendulum and falls face down. Fortunately this happened in my home and I caught it before it hit the deck. I wrote to the manufacturer about it but got no reply and I exchanged it for this one shown below. http://www.herculess...ars/GS415B.html which I find is much more stable.
Yes I agree - I use the one with the small support peg for my acoustic guitar but the three for my basses are the the one you show - lot more stable and robust
