1. Hello there, thought i would say hello since ive been on here for ages. Some of you BCers probably know me from my addiction to the basschat market place (still check it daily at work ) anyway, good to say hello (finally) to this super friendly community of low enders. All the best Michael
2. hello Terry, fellow Norn Iron bass player here. Thats a lovely set up you have there. I should really introduce myself on this too, been lurking for years
3.
Interesting thread. I've never bothered with any kind of effect but have recently been learning a lot of Muse tracks purely because I enjoy them so much! I was thinking about investing in a pedal to get the sound a bit more authentic and bring some variation to what I can do in gigs (in context with the songs of course!). Do you recommend ferreting about for a Digitech hardwire cm2? I'll look it up in a minute, but do I need anything else to make it work effectively e.g. you suggest above getting the B3K as well? I play through a SVT 6 Pro teamed with Mesa and Epifani 2 x 10s? Thanks.
sorry V2factoryman, i only just spotted this thread again. i dont think you need the Darkglass to get Musey sounds no, although I haven't got one so can't be certain of that. I only commented on the Darkglass as it is one of my dream buys but it'll be a while before i get one heres a vid of Muse via Darkglass, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSB_-ZxTDXA I know Chris uses a Boss LS2 to mix in some dry signal with his Animato and other pedals, he always has that clean undercurrent for all his effects to keep the bottom end. Im treading carefully here as I don't want to give advice that may lead to you purchasing a pedal you might not be happy with (ive done it tons of times). all i can tell you is even through my pretty crap behringer combo (svaing up for new amp ), the Hardwire CM2 sounds great for Muse tunes e.g. dead star, darkshines and is a fraction of the price of an Animato. The Hardwire also gives a nice wee touch of grit if you want it so would be fairly versatile too although id say the Darkglass has a lot more tones in its arsenal. Up to yourself man, the digitech is fairly cheap and i love it, id suggest hitting your local guitar store and giving it a go (theyre made for guitar and are at entry level price so id say most guitar stores would have them in stock). If you do decide to get one, make sure you search ebay (got mine for £20 cheaper than most sites) Hope this helps, sorry bout delayed response Michael
4. Do want it but no moneys bump
5. ive got a digitech hardwire cm2 for musey distortion sounds e.g. hyper music, newborn. cost less than £50 for ex display model off ebay. sounds great, according to muse expert on talkbass (Kaputsport), it isn't a million miles off the Animato (either btw is a Turbo Rat). Pedal has low and high switches and keeps good bit of low end so shouldnt be problem. If it was me, id get the B3K and sell the Animato and pick up the Hardwire. just my opinion tho:) hope this helps
6. wow, beautiful! good luck with the sale
7. SOLD SOLD SOLD Hi all, got this pedal a few weeks ago from a fellow BC'er in a trade for my Boss LS2 and have decided to sell it on and save up for a decent amp instead of eq'ing and toying with my pretty rubbish amp in a futile attempt to sound better . Pedal is very useful in live situations, even just as a clean boost (has level control) to stomp on for solos or a bitta slappa da bass with a mid scoop eq. Versatile little pedal and kind of in two minds whether to let it go but needs must. Its in good condition even though its been fairly well used (used it twice for gigs myself and had one previous owner) as shown in pics so feel £45 posted is fair asking price to cover few quid it'll cost to post. Ive an old boss pedal box id be happy to send it in. Any questions feel free to ask/PM. Thanks Michael
8. Traded my Boss LS2 for a GEB7, Ash was great with communication and deal was done without any probs. great guy to deal with. Michael

11. BUMP would consider trades for Boss Bass eq/Boss bass Chorus.

13. I just bought a Boss Ls2 off Gilles. Great guy to deal with and package arrived well packed and promptly. Highly recommended. Thanks Michael
14. Lol well I don't have 1000 pennies on me at the mo (MOT and all that). Did you ever try the Rat with the Boss EQ? I'd say that would have some balls. Btw good call on the Darkglass B3K, they sound great.
15. Tempted to buy back the rat too! Sorry the compressor didn't work out for you man.
16. Damn, missed out on the pork loin oh well, give me a shout if you don't sell it to topo morto.
17. all good, it was a hopeful punt at best:)
18. Don't be scared Kiwi. It's great
19. great seller, package delivered promptly and was packed to perfection cheers Andy
20. sold sold sold
21. SOLD Hi fellow basschatters, realising that ive done things arseways (i.e. getting nice shiny pedals when I need a decent amp) and the fact that theres so much Gallien Krueger porn going around in the amps section means I want to shift these pedals. I bought the Turbo RAT 2 weeks ago and it has been professionally modded by Protium(fellow BC'er) and has been upgraded with an LM308N chip, enhanced EQ section for better bass response, transistor and resistor upgrades (RAT 2 components, again more suited to bass),a handy boss style power jack and ultrabright red LED added. The pedal is well used but in perfect working order but im concentrating on getting a good solid clean sound for now and using my cheap multi fx if i fancy a bit of dirt Pedal cost me £50 and mods cost £15 and since ive only had it a few weeks, asking £65 posted. The Rocktron was a bit of an impulse buy as I wanted to dabble in compression and see if it would benefit my tone. To be honest, Im not really a fan and after an evening of playing around with it, Id rather have a few quid towards an amp to be fair. Again in perfect nick, retails for £69 upwards after a quick google search but I got it on a deal so id do it for £25 posted. If you take both of them of my hands then its £80 to your door.
