1. I'm sure I've seen a DI from Radial that has a "merge" function to sum two mono signals?
 2.
Where do you guys get transistors from? I struggle to find any good supplier in UK.
www.bitsbox.co.uk

 4.
I like it and like the singer's voice but his voice is out of tune.
Yep, this. Other than that, great!
 5.
No
Yes. Especially the more recent efforts. Just awful.
 6. Surely this has got to be up there? Truly vomit-inducing. http://youtu.be/C2cMG33mWVY

 8. Latest incarnation. It'll do for now but the Vibratrem will be going when I get round to building the tremolo kit I got from Musikding. 10.
Unfortunately he's not trading anymore
Was starting to look like this was on the cards - his site's been down for ages. My go-to ebay seller has jacked it in recently as well. Bugger!
 11. The verse to "Funky Monks" by RHCP has to be up there - bar the odd fill it's only one note, and it's glorious.
 12.
Anyone got a really good song with a wah in to show it in the mix?
Wah on the main riff at about 0:50 Same bassist, same wah. Used in the verses. 13.
It's a great place to start, or take a look at the Fuzzdog kit offerings, there's a LOT on there, but each kit has a full walkthrough etc. Their Muff gives you all the options to build whatever era of Muff you want (it's just component changes really), although I'd stick with a Green Muff if it's for bass: http://shop.pedalpar...24_6674585.aspx The thing with DIY stuff is that you can build something, and then be like "oh what if I add cheeky clean blend....and some oscillation....and a mids control", there's a LOT of mods for a muff. I'd say for the music you're citing, a straight green muff will be fine though....you can always build more Si
Haha surprisingly accurate! Just to add that I would heartily recommend the Fuzzdog muff kit - I got the Green Muff version and it's ace (and I did add a clean blend and a mid control just for the hell of it!)
 14. Yep, Mooer Tender Octaver. Wasn't aware they'd been discontinued, so I'm glad I got mine when I did! I tried it alongside the Micro POG and couldn't tell the difference, so for about £100 less with a smaller footprint it was a no-brainer.
 15. I'm a confirmed OC-2 lover but I have recently switched to the COG T47. It's basically the OC-2 but better (IMO obviously) because you can boost the levels as well as cut, and the filter control allows you to control just how warbly and synthy the octave down gets (or doesn't get, if you prefer a cleaner almost digital sound). It also tracks better and lower (when you have the filter control set relatively clean). The deal breaker for me however was the fact that it's 2 pedals in one, so you can switch between different sounds without having to change the controls. I'll never sell my OC-2, but the T47 has replaced it on my board for all the reasons above.

 17.
i was so into hiphop when i was a teen; i think it was hiphop that got me into bass playing. I think listening to Snoop Dogg's Doggy Style album made me realize how cool bass is; how the funky line is so in the pocket with the drumbeats.
This x 100. The whole G-Funk thing just grabbed me. So groovy compared to most of the other stuff around at the time!
 18. I used 110-50 for C# for years but recently "stepped up" to the D'Addario EXLBT set (120-60). Much improved the feel for me as I did find the 110 a little too floppy when tuned down that far. I previously used Elites so YMMV with regards to this, but the extra tension in the D'Addarios was a definite plus for me. The only downside is they're nickels and I prefer the feel and sound of steels. I don't believe D'Addario have any plans to offer the balanced tension sets in steel, so I've just got a set of their EPS230 ProSteels (110-55) to see how their 110 compares to the Elites I used to use. I suspect I'm going to be stuck in the middle of a trade-off, with preferring the tension of the EXLBT but the sound of the EPS230.
 19. Give it a quick go-over with a chapstick, leave a couple of minutes then wipe it off. In the days when I couldn't afford to replace full sets of strings in one go I used to do this to dull a new string down a bit and match the others better. I'm sure I read this in one of those "top studio tips" things years ago, but I can't remember.
