Thanks mate. I picked one up a few years ago now for around £200 at the time and have used it pretty much every day since. If you go all the way back five years to the original post you'll see that the pricing was always the main concern. For the price I paid, however, I think it's a fantastic piece of kit.

Smashing - can do that. I saw the Zoom H4/H6 idea too. I can explore that but they're a bit expensive!

Hi David - it's the 'stage mic' idea I think that I need to explore here - how do you work that?

I'd be interested in thoughts/practical examples of compromises when you've got a situation of a desk with very limited aux out options/and or other band members not wanting to go in ear or even through desk. This often happens when one member of the band wants to go in-ear and the rest don't and the current PA setup is limited in its capacity. Ideally we'd all want everyone to go in-ear, using a digital desk with enough aux busses for everyone to run stereo but.......

4 power valves and 5 pre, says Mr Gooday. Looks fantastic!

pre/post DI switch on the back? Can't think of anything else...!

This head with the right cab is superb. BF610 is perfect!
-
On the amp control panel, the Line Out knob, far right under the on/off switch adjusts the DI level out. where have you got that set? I've never had to set it more than halfway for a strong signal.

Just looked at mine too. Never saw it before as they're not flush with the surface but yes, three small holes a couple of mill inside of the outer edge.

Yep I do exactly this too. You can use tap tempo to quantise the loops too. We are experimenting with complete backing tracks too using this method, but struggling to get a good enough click to the drummer and for him to play to it! Only problem with this solution is that it would be quite tricky to play a synth chord, then swap to another and swap back again in the same way that perhaps a midi keyboard would work.

Custom mould or universal? I've got custom mould UE6 and cant see any tiny holes.....

I've currently got my IEM transmitter and wireless receiver units separate and I set them up independently each gig. I can't rack them with the PA as I use them in different bands. For ease of use can I rack them side by side in a 1 or 2U unit? My head tells me this is going to cause problems but I don't know why. Is there any other mounting solution anyone knows of? Both are Sennheiser G4 units. Thanks

I use a spring loaded centre punch! Sims custom shop made mine. They should have it stored as a template if you contact them!

These really are cracking basses. I have two of the HH five string versions and I love them. The necks are beautiful and the bodies are nicely weighted. Really under rated basses as people are always either comparing them to Stingray/Sterlings or complaining that they're just 'not Fender'. Then we complain that Fender just rehash the same old stuff year after year......... There's a FB page here https://www.facebook.com/groups/382848225624135/

I'll take another of it on my Retro 610 later!

Keep an eye out for the matching extension cab -in the classifieds, both together make for a killer rig. I find I have to back off the bass a bit but I can always get a great sound. I did replace the horrible Fender logo with one of the older style blackface logos

Great service from Barefaced. I do have some sympathy with retailers when offering discounts. What do you do about people only having just purchased at the full price? Offer a refund? How far do you backdate before it's unreasonable.

I bypassed the tweeter in my CMD (easy swap of spade connectors and totally reversible) to reduce the hiss but I left the one in my NY121 alone as it has a L PAD. there is no tweeter control on the combo. both together is awesome, easily keeps up with a loud rock band.

You've got two components already - the Sansamp and the cab - you could always just look for a power amp? Failing that, you can always find bargains on Gumtree (more so than ebay I find). Older Fender Rumbles sell for peanuts for example. If you don't mind heavy stuff, and travelling a bit to collect, you can always score a bargain. Otherwise, you're probably looking at trying to save up maybe £150-200. For example £150 could get you this currently for sale in the For Sale section.

Light, loud, £300 ish? You can get a Rumble 500v3 for around that. It's not that small (when compared to say a Markbass CMD121) but it's a one handed lift!
