  1. Nice one, shout whenever and we can sort something out.
  2. I have a Supertwin. I'm also in Northants. You're welcome to try it out!
  3. I'm using an Ashdown EVO IV ABM 600 in to a Barefaced Super Twin for this type of music. With a Precision. Sounds brilliant.
  4. A very high quality twin looper/mixer. Runs two loops individually or together with individual loop levels. The buttons are close together so you you can hit both with a single foot press if you like. Velcro on bottom Postage included.
  5. To be honest chap, if you modify the thread title to " Fender American Professional Precision Bass 2016" or something similar you might get a few more views?
  6. As it's affecting both pickups I would look first at components that both share, so I'd say the string, the nut, the tuner and the saddle. In my experience, if a jazz pickup itself fails, the whole pickup fails, not just the output on one string. Once you've done the hardware checks then it's down to fault finding on the electronics, but jazz bass wring is not at all complicated.
  7. Our lead guitarist/singer uses the Blue Turn from IK Multimedia. It's small, easy to use and will work with On Song. https://www.andertons.co.uk/recording/studio-outboard/studio-outboard-accessories/ik-multimedia-irig-blue-turn-bluetooth-page-turner
  8. For the backs of my necks I use oil soap (designed for wood) to clean any grime off then I use Birchwood Casey gunstock wax. I haven't got any basses with body finishes like yours but I guess the principle is the same.
  9. On a related note, you can also find a comprehensive list of schematics on the same site https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000840683-Bass-Guitar-Service-Diagrams
  10. Send the old one to Sims and thy'll make you an exact copy in anything you like https://www.sims.guitars/custom-shop/pickguards
  11. Got mine done in under a week's turnaround by Aaron at Armstrong Pickups
  12. I never really liked the MAG cabs, they did sound a bit 'woolly' compared to the ABMs a few years ago, but I've got a EVO IV 600 now and the sound through Barefaced cabs is awesome. I'd thoroughly recommend the amps.
  13. I love mine and often use it instead of my Helix/ Barefaced or Ashdown/Barefaced rigs. I have the extension cab too which, if you really need to, makes quite a loud setup! I'm really not sure about it being heavy enough to warrant extra handles but that's your call. EQ wise I do tend to roll back the bass a bit, but normally start flat and work from there. The only thing I can really recommend is ditching the ugly Fender logos they put on these and replace them with the older Blackface amp logo like this one
  14. So I've got this 72 Precision. It's sounding really thin, like there's no bass at all, especially compared to my other precisions. I'm assuming it's a pickup issue? Tapping all the pole pieces with a screwdriver when it's plugged in gives a tinny sound form both halves of the split coil. I started off by thinking one half of the pickup had given up but I wouldn't get any sound would I? Is this a pickup or wiring issue? Wiring looks fine and in good nick. thanks Steve
  15. I use Replay Music (on Windows but there is a Mac version) https://applian.com/mac/products to record/download an MP3 from an online source. I then use Audacity to change the pitch to suit. It has a function to adjust the pitch in half steps up or down. I know that is two products rather than one but I don't know a single solution.
  16. Both my current ones are vintage and I don't have any noticeable volume differences. Mine are set up to Fender specs more or less. I can only suggest reducing the height of the pickups or swapping them out completely. Very odd.
  17. This volume difference - it's seriously noticeable is it? How are you measuring it? Is your amp EQ flat? I have a number of Jazzes and using Fender's specs I've never had an issue. You've set, relief, action and intonation first, then pickup height last, all according to Fender specs? The usual way to compensate for volume issues is to adjust pickup height. The specs are merely a starting point from which to work from. Adjust to suit. I've never heard of using additional magnets - sounds a bit of a crazy idea to me. The first thing I would do after flattening my EQ and setting to Fender specs is to use a new/different set of strings.
  18. Another vote for Transcribe. I use Audacity for quick editing and converting but for playback learning, this is great.
  19. A35 AMG. Daimler have a 10% stake in W3W.
  20. It's integrated in to the OEM satnav of my car........
  21. Back up for sale. If you're interested, and insist on paying a deposit so I will hold it for you for a month, and then decide you don't want it after all and want your deposit back...well..... Price lowered to £1,500. It's one of those basses you swear you'll never sell but.... This is a 2016 Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH, which is rare enough, but this is the Starry Night Premier Dealer Network special edition. It's very difficult to photograph with the deep sparkle finish and the roasted neck but I've had a go! specs are below. There is a piece of clear plastic protective film on the back that I've never taken off. Weight is 9.7lbs, 4.4lbs Condition is 9.8/10. there's a tiny dent on the back but I can't photograph it. I'm checking it over again and I'll post more if I find anything I won't courier it but I'm prepared to drive around a bit to meet up. Comes with the original case in excellent condition. I'm not interested in any trades. Price is firm as I'm in no desperate need to sell. thanks Steve Series: Premier Dealer Network (PDN) Body Material: Ash Body Finish High gloss polyester Body Shape: Sterling Neck Wood Select roasted maple neck Neck Finish Gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend Scale Length 34" (86.4 cm) Fingerboard: Ebony, no markers Fingerboard Radius: 11" (27.9 cm) Number of Frets: 22 Fret size: High profile, wide Nut Width 1-3/4" (44.5 mm) Truss Rod Adjustable - no component or string removal Neck Attachment 5 bolts - perfect alignment with no shifting; Sculpted neck joint allows smooth access to higher frets Bridge Pickup: Humbucking with ceramic magnets Neck Pickup: Humbucking with ceramic magnets Controls: Dual Pickup - 5-way lever pickup selector, 3-band active preamp; vol, treble, mid, bass; Dual Pickup, 3-band active preamp; vol, treble, mid, bass Pickup Configuration: Dual Humbucker Bridge: Standard - Music Man chrome plated, hardened steel bridge plate with stainless steel saddles Tuning Machines Schaller BM, with tapered string posts
  22. Yes it can easily manage without the cab. I've a ABM 600 and a Barefaced Supertwin too and sometimes I take the Rumble 500 instead
  23. When I need an amp that's quick to set up, easy to transport and I can be sure of the sound i want I grab my Rumble. It just works. If it's cheap enough it's worth it even as a back up if nothing else.
  24. I agree - I have the two bass version of this and it's brilliant.
  25. Ive got three combos, a Rumble 500, a TC 250 115 and a Markbass CMD121P. On it's own for sound quality and portability I'd turn to the Markbass, but for gigging i choose the Rumble everytime. In a gig situation it just works.
