Ive got the 5 string so I can't tell you for sure but according to the specs width at the nut for the Dimension is the same as the Precision.
-
I've got all three and to be honest, the Dimension is different to the Jazz and the Precision but if you had to choose one over the other then I'd go more Jazz purely based on the offset body. The Dimension body is physically smaller than a Jazz, the offset isn't so pronounced and neither are the cutaways. It's a very comfortable body actually.

I'm not talking about putting flats on a precision, or stainless steels on a jazz or choosing different types depending on the sort of music that's being played, but most of us it seems have a preferred make of strings - the one that we'd always go to. as a default. For me this has always been DR Sunbeams. Doesn't matter what type of bass, always Sunbeams. Until now. I put a brand new set on a new Sterling and instantly hated them. Put the same strings on a Precision to check and they're great. Put a set of EB Slinkys on the Sterling and it sounded fantastic. This to me feels odd. Why don't my beloved Sunbeams work on the Sterling? I feel let down......

The American ones with 18v active circuits, twin humbuckers and oiled compound radius neck are very nice. These passive versions I've had no experience with, however.
I looked the pics and thought, 'if only it was a 4' then I see Muppets post, and I'm thinking 'Your local shop being?.........'
MusicStreet Huntingdon. It's a Ray 4 mind, not a Sterling.... I work in Milton Keynes if you ever wanted to check the finish out for real......
Loving that Sterling! I use my 'Starry Night' Ray4 in a Glam band - looks awesome with good lighting.
They certainly do! My local shop has a Ray 4 in this colour waiting for the right owner....

The neck is finished differently to the headstock,,so I guess that’s why there’s two different shades.,the guitars are the same from what I’ve seen.
That's gorgeous. I'd get a clear plate for more sparkles
Ohhh now you've got me thinking!!

Never felt the need to do a NBD post before as nothing I have is ever that special, but.... I finally got one. Sterling 5 HH Starry Night. Roasted maple neck, ebony fretboard, no markers! Photographing the 'sparkle' is very difficult - it's a lot deeper than it appears. It's a bit in your face but perfect for a funk and disco band...

According to Marco on Facebook all the Indonesian ones receive a final inspection in Italy before being shipped anyway. I have a Indonesian CMD121P and an Italian NY121. Absolutely no problems with either. There was an American chap on FB who had a right old rant at Marco because in his view the retailer that sold him his CMD121P should have told him that It was Indonesian not Italian. It was Marco's fault that Markbass were not instructing their retailers to inform customers of the fact and he wanted to reject the unit because of this.

This looks absolutely superb. I'm no expert on Stingray prices so I'm not sure if it's a good deal but still http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Musicman-Stingray-5H-string-bass-guitar-in-Stealth-Pearl/162668118395
So put the 4 away, just practice your normal sets with the 5 and just put a little thought into where the low notes would be useful and where you could go down a string instead of down the neck. Good luck!
I did this quite recently too. I found I had to get new muscle memory in my fingers as I found I was using the B string as the E to start off with, but it slowly comes along and then you start to naturally utilise the B string in scale patterns. My issue is that my lovely (and aesthetically more pleasing) 4 strings now get no use. I've recently sold two as a result. Good luck

Karl scratched his Flea Signature bass itch once again, snapping mine up in record time and it was in his hands inside 18 hours as he came to collect it from me. Top bloke, not that anyone would doubt it.

Needs no introduction. Home use only, never gigged, so pretty much as it was new. It comes with the orginal gig bag and bumpf that comes with it. No trades as I have already made a rather rash purchase that I need to fund. Would prefer collection but I can post at cost, with a courier specified by the buyer. Location is Cambridgeshire but I can do Milton Keynes, Northants and Cheadle Hulme/Stockport area. Looking at the current specs on the Musicman site, the Stingray pickups are wired in parallel in themselves and continue to be wired in parallel through the multiple combinations. The Sterling seems to be in series.
-
Just on the HS config Just be mindful, the main humbucker comes wired in series only, whereas the standard H has the three way option of parallel-single coil-series. Thus making it more difficult to nail the classic stingray 4 sound as you can't get the parallel wiring.
How is the HH wired? You can't order a HS from new any more it seems.

Wunjo's latest newsletter has a piece all about this. They have a summary blog here https://www.wunjoguitars.com/uk/blog-10022017-denmark-street-musical-heart-beats-on

This is standard American model in the rather rare chrome red colour. This is a sliver metallic as opposed to the more gold metallic of candy apple red. I imported this from the US as I couldnt find the colour here. It has no chips and one tiny ding on the upper side of the body that you can't see, you can only feel it. Apart from that it is in 9/10 condition I would say. being conservative. It has a BadAss III bridge and Seymour Duncan SJB3 Quarter Pounders fitted and it alo has the S1 switch that allows the pickups to be used in series as well as in parallel. I have the original bridge and pickups if you want them although one of the original pickups I don't think works. I also have the original white pickguard. Weight is 9lb exactly. It also has the Fender shaped case that is in good condition too, Collection is preferred and the location is Cambridgeshire. Happy to travel a short way to meet up. I'm also in Milton Keynes and Stockport very frequently. If you want me to ship I can, if we can agree a courier service. No trades please as I have already identified something else, unless it's a five string Sterling! Thanks Steve

Symptomatic of the market though - Fender Professional range £1,500, new Rickenbacker 4003 £2,300 etc . Even GuitarGuitar's solitary 5 string H is £1,900.
If it has a Rosewood board you'll have to factor in the cost of the export paperwork and the delay it will cause to the seller being able to ship it to you.
Good point - think the ebay one was ebony....
