So to order, HH with matching headstock is £2,250 and six months wait time!! There's a nice starry night on eBay in the US that would come in significantly under that, even with duty etc......

Great service - I was after a specific type of pedal and Darren came up with the goods, sending it off the very next day. Top service, cheers Steve
Best of luck searching for an ST5 - you could always order a new one - if it was me I'd go for an HS - adding the single coil to the single pick up Sterling sound adds significant bottom end and warmth to the sound when desired, gives a single coil option and you still get the single humbucker Magic as well when wanted.
The quest continues and I'm getting close to ordering a new one. For a regular (i.e. not custom build) model they're as rare as hen's teeth on the second hand market. . I am really hoping it's because owners just never want to move them on. Looks like you can't get a new HS 5 string now, just H or HH. So, It's down to colour and neck I guess......

So your fella sticks the guitar and his luggage on a trolley and has a decision - which channel to use? He should use the red 'Goods to Declare' channel where he will pay vat and duty before being let go. If he chooses the green 'Nothing to Declare' he might be lucky and there's no one checking at all. Nine times out of ten this channel is deserted (when I use T5 which I do frequently). If he gets stopped in this channel does he 'fess up or does he blag his way out of it? It's your mate.......

Age per se is nothing to worry about - it all depends on how it's been looked after during its seven years. If you've seen good quality photos that show it in good condition then that's a positive start. Can you verify the seller? Could you write up a simple checklist for your friend to follow when he collects the bass, or even arrange a skype/video call ?

I've found that most, if not all, can. I've tried Amplitube, AmpKit, Pocket GK, Jam Up amongst others. Open the app, get your tone and then fire up Spotify. The only tricky bit I've found is balancing the levels.
The sfx loop logic pedal will do this. There's one for sale in the clasifieds atm. I know this because it's me selling it http://basschat.co.u...-korg-digitech/
Perfect thanks. Thanks too for the other answers, I knew Basschat could help!

I have one amp and one guitar, so no mulitiple inputs or outputs. What I am trying to do is to have two separate effects loops and run it as such - Loop A on, Loop B on, Loop A+B on (with blend if possible), all loops bypassed. I have a LS2 but this can only do A, B, off or A+B, off. There must be a simple way or a simple loop switcher pedal that lets me do this but can I get my head around it??? Any help gratefully received! thanks Steve

Deps seem to be mostly drummers and bassists though it seems (although I was in a function band that had a dep singer once). Is this because we're more flexible or just more easily replaced? I depped for an originals band once in a band competition final. The band won, the original bassist was fired and I got the job.

5 String with wide string spacing at nut AND bridge
Muppet replied to No. 8 Wire's topic in Bass Guitars
The Fender Dimension V has an asymmetric C shaped neck, compound radius from 9.5" to 14" with a 19mm bridge and 44.5mm nut so it does look like Fender have a wide range. I don't know of other Fender Vs with the asymmetric profile though. -
For home use these are really good. You might be pleasantly surprised when you get it!

Roland Bass Cube 30 is a superb little amp. one on ebay? Mine says Made in Indonesia on the back. Dunno about the speakers.

This is V3? How old is it? No problems with mine but I don't push it.....maybe I'll look to see what speakers are in it.
Having now seen this, I'm intrigued by "Will include a female to female jack adaptor, this let's you stick the receiver in the loop of your guitar strap". I have absolutely no idea what that means! Surely the very last place you want a wireless receiver is six inches from the transmitter?
Given that the 'transmitter' has got Velcro on it to stick it to a cab I rather think the OP has got the concept of receiver and transmitter mixed up. -
Other than sounding different to Ps/Js/MMs are there any other advantages? Do they weigh less, hang better, have better necks? If not then they are not going to sell and their future looks doubtful. Fender seem happy to scrap lines, remember Cabronita?
I guess the answer to all those things is no not really. The neck on the ones I've played is lovely but not astoundingly so (the nicest neck I've ever played was a Sterling) and weight is much of a muchness. The problem Fender have is that they're so inextricably linked with the Precision and the Jazz that people won't credit their alternate models. There have been so many other Fenders come and go over the years and I agree, I think this will go the same way. Shame because I think it's a quality, understated all-rounder, especially in 5 string guise.

Ive had a THR10 for a long while now and I find it's superb. Once connected to a laptop there's many more parameters avaialable to fine tune your bass tone. It's got all the flexibility I need for a tiny practice amp - USB in, mute, tuner, patch storage, onboard effects, headphones etc. And it looks the business. BTW a guitarist friend has played through those gutar heads and he says they're amazing too....
-
I like them. They're well balanced with a lovely neck, feel very nice to play and have a wide range of sounds if you get the active 18v ones. The problem with them, if there is one, is that the humbucker setup automatically makes you think it's Fender's Stingray equivalent and it's not. If you buy it as a Stingray alternative you'll be disappointed; if you buy it as a Dimension then you could be pleasantly surprised. I think they were overpriced anyway, although Andertons deal is pretty good - you can get a USA Elite model for under £1k.......
Gosh looks like I'll definitely be holding onto all of mine. Pricing has gone crazy. I'd never be able to replace them without spending about 40% more.
I think you may own a large part of the UKs quota!
