  2. I see. Can I connect one unit to the XR18 direct without using a P16D interface? I'm assuming that could then give one stereo mix through the P16M and free up the aux channel used to supply another stereo feed?
  3. My band is now all fully in ears, no backline, electronic drums, guitar and bass modellers and is sounding superb. We have a XR18, there are five of us and we all now want to run stereo monitoring, with space on the desk only for one person to do so currently. What options are available, if any, to expand the monitoring capability without buying a digital desk with 10 aux channels?
  4. I don't think I need to describe this at all - most people know about these and their reputation. This is a Flea Jazz Bass from the Artist Signature series in as-new, roadworn condition as shown in the photos. It comes with the original gig bag and case candy (which is just a plastic bag of labels and stickers to be honest). These are retailing now at £1,300 if you can find one. If you need the specs then these are below. I would really prefer collection but happy to meet up within reasonable distance of Silverstone/Maidenhead. 5. The 610 is light. Handles on both sides and I can pick it up and pop it in the car. And a handle on top and wheels. It’s not like the 610 cabs of old. And yes, BF with a Precision and an ABM just works!
  6. It is not overkill. Definitely not. Not in any way.
  7. Good for me on my Floor. OC2 is pretty decent!
  8. For a reasonably sized City (rather than a town) I've always been disappointed by Milton Keynes. It's size and location should make it a prime location for live music but I don't think it's anywhere near as good as it should be. The Stables is well attended but mainly by the over 50s, MK11 and The Craufurd don't get nearly the footfall that they should. It doesn't get the touring bands that Oxford or Northampton or even Bedford get and the pub covers scene is scattered around the villages. It could be so much more..
  9. I’m just happy to support a UK company with customer service second to none.
  10. Still getting used to it but a few gigs down now. There's the immediate comfort feeling that you know what you are getting and you are definitely getting the ABM sound, but it's clearer, tighter and with more definition at higher volumes. Is it louder? Well, I never turned my EVO IV to max so I don't know. I guess it must be a little. The fan is super quiet and kicks in only when needed, and the DI is superb quality apparently according to the sound guy. The controls are reassuringly Ashdown and give the same amount of adjustment as we're used to. It seems to weight the same if not a little less than my rackmount 600 IV. Could be me, or the valve fitted but the drive seems smoother. There's a big 'but', and I'm going to have to have a word with Mark, Dan and Dave. Both the input and the output controls are notched, like the output control on the RM EVOIIs. I hate it. Really hate it. It's going to have to change. Is it worth the money, I guess is the big question? To me, given a) I bought it b) it's UK built and c) it looks bloody fantastic then yes, but objectively I'd find it difficult to argue against going for a 600 EVO IV, as that amp is so good. I'm just pleased it's not as nasty as that horrible Darkglass thing I bought...... Onwards and upwards. I love it, I'm keeping it and the ABM 600 EVO IV is sold pending collection...
  11. I’d take the Thumper out of your bitsa and stick it in this. The wizard is a tremendous pickup, I love it.
  12. I'm just finding out. Couple of gigs tonight and tomorrow. I'll update the main thread!
  13. You're a clever fella!
  14. I already have the replacement! You could take an educated guess and you might be right. It gets christened tonight
  15. Here we have what is undoubtedly the best amp I have ever owned and I've had a few. Rackmount chrome faced version in very good condition. Checked and serviced by Guy Morel at Ashdown two years ago. Don't think I need to explain it much more. Comes with the shallow Gator case, pictured. Collection please from Silverstone, Milton Keynes, Peterborough or Maidenhead.
  16. I had a Tonepocket which is superb. Until I bought the Waza Air headphones. Zero cables and brilliant sound. Now the Tonepocket is gathering dust. If there's any latency then I can't hear it.
  17. Having lived in both Alconbury and Sawtry for many years I can categorically say that is untrue. The map might not show it yet but the whole area between Peatboghorror and Cambridgeland is riddled with them.
  18. Two in adjoining villages is pretty good going. I wonder if there are any in the same street… see you in the Fox and Hounds or The White Horse……
  19. I wish! I just chose the middle of the village 😁
  20. Excellent, glad you're sorted!
  21. I don't think there is a v2 of the AO amp is there, just the Microtubes 900v2....? Which super intelligent footswithc do you have - the silver one (which is designed for the microtubes) or the blue one (which is designed for the AO). If it's the silver one, I'm pretty sure you'll need to reprogram it to use it with the AO amp. The super intelligent footswitch is programmable through thr Darkglass suite app on pc. I would connect your amp to the Darkglass suite and check the programming of the footswitch in there. If you can, reset it back to the defaults and try again.
  22. Regular mono 3/4" jack lead worked for me when I had one.
  23. If you don't have a DMX controller then the other option is a basic four button foot controller that plugs in to the 5 pin DIN socket on the back. Then you can cycle through the pre-installed programmes, as well as activating sound mode, freeze and blackout. You can't do what you want from the menu. There is a hack, however, that I found when my foot controller packed up. Take a paperclip and bend in to a U shape. With the powerbar turned on and in AUTO mode, short out pins 1 and 2 on the DIN socket. Keep doing this and it will cycle through the in-built programmes - there is a programme for each colour. Programme 8 (I think) will auto cycle through each colour and Programme 9 will auto fade through each colour in turn, with all four spots showing the same. Give it a go.
