Diabolik!

OK, I am in deep smit! Just tried my new malekko diabolik at practice, and it is stupendous. Snarling, brassmaster goodness. I used to own one, and it was good, but SO loud, you had to set everything at 8-9 o'clock to use it with other pedals live. However, I think they may have updated it, as now, unity is nearer 12 o'clock, and I was able to properly ramp up the knobs and MY GOD it sounds good. It made my tall font russian sound a little bit lame by comparison. Nothing has done that before!! Very happy indeed!!
4. not the best pic, but i can snap and upload some better pics if anybody wants them
5. I keep buying flangers, then remembering I don't like flangers!!! This is a black label, Japanese made BOSS BF-2 Flanger. Nails that 46&2 Tool sound Pictures to follow tonight. Price excludes postage. Recorded delivery should be around £4.60, or collection from Bristol. EDITED as I got the name totally wrong!!! doh
6. good job! I've never used a DI, and the comparison video did absolutely nothing for me, but some of the sounds you have got out of that FI, it sounds pretty damn good!!
7. oh yeah... over £1,100 for a mexican P bass with a bit of the finish sanded away!! bonkers...
8.
It's a fuzz face. Best sounding and most dynamic fuzz I ever played. Although I have to add brassmaster at some point.
what's the pedalboard company, I can't see the logo - nice board as for brassmasters... love my malekko diabolik!
9. it's odd, but I've been playing bass about 25 years, and for about 22 of those years I HATED chorus on bass, or at least, I thought I did! I still don't like a lot of movement in my chorus, but a nice bit of chorus with low depth and speed sounds great to my ears now on an otherwise clean bass part. I also like using it after fuzz and with octaves for a synth sound. I used to think phasers were the best modulation effects, then flange, and then chorus. It's the total opposite now, many years later! EDIT to say that IMO chorus is one of the easiest effects to get a terrible sound out of, if you don't know what you're doing! A good example to my ears for chorus in a modern, non-1980's setting is the bass player from Death From Above. His distorted bass tone has a great chorus-ey vibe to it. I think he uses an old Ibanez pedal?
10. wow - 3 working days later, and I have just had a diabolik delivered to me at work... that was faster than standard delivery from amazon!
11. although, the jazz price ranges are all there, and there is no standard fretted jazz (just fretless) and no AV64 jazzes...
12. website on the blink? the entire £1,000 to £1,500 category is missing, so the AV63 precisions are also not there. I wouldn't worry!
13. OC-2 now sold and shipped... BB-preamp still available, small price drop as I would like to shift this and start the dreaded Xmas shopping
14. definitely some bargains... including USPS priority: meatbox £81 BBBOD £110 bass whammy £104 EQD hummingbird £98
15. in fact can we close this thread now
16.
Bought over a dozen pedals from this store, not been charged once. The Blueberry is on sale too, plus there is a discount code that applies to all non sale items.
same here - was trying to be subtle as I don't want customs to cotton on and this magic pedal buying option to disappear... usps priority shipping was only $18 as well!
17. Still works out a lot cheaper for this pedal.... plus half the pedals I have bought from the US have arrived at my door with zero VAT charges

Prymaxe sale!

Morning... Just a quick post to say that it's worth a quick look over at prymaxe.com. I just bought a malekko diabolik, with usps priority shipping, for about £86. New, in the UK, this pedal is £140 (though nobody here has one in stock)... Bargain!!!
19. sure I can't tempt somebody with a BB preamp?
20. I think there is still an old DOD FX10 bifet preamp in the classifieds. I have one, they are fantastic (Juan Alderete swears by his). Forget the name of it, it works as a clean boost, and as a great tone shaping pedal. I use it for volume and treble boost, I know most use it for volume and bass boost. Worth a look!
21. Couple of pedals for sale... love these two to bits but they aren't being used in the new band, so no point them sitting on the shelf. [s]Boss OC-2. Black label Taiwan. Very good condition, works perfectly. No box, but will pack safely. UK postage included. £60[/s] SOLD! [s]Xotic Effects BB Bass Preamp. Good condition, working perfectly, sounds great! Again, no box, but will pack safely. UK postage included. £75[/s] SOLD! Velcro on the bottom, easily removed...
22. what do you want a reverb pedal for, specifically? The mr. black eterna, as mentioned above, is great for shimmer, and huge ambient drones. The dispatch master by EQD (my favourite) combines a reverb and delay, and quite versatile. the afterneath seems very interesting, but not so much a traditional reverb. HOF seems to be quite popular, more so for 'traditional' reverb use... lots of good options though! I'm toying with getting an afterneath...
