1. Quick update on the EQD DM... It is good
2. My EQD dispatch master was delivered today, can't wait to try it later
3. Boomstick filter gone. Delay and fuzz needing a good home
4. well, the TFR is bassier. MUCH bassier. It doesn't go as high gain as the stache, but I think max gain on the pedal is plenty. Most pedal boards I see with a TFR on have the same setting, full gain! The Stache is more a biting, cutting sounding muff to me. There is less of a range in the tone pot, compared to the TFR, but the mids control is good, and I think overall the stache cuts through more. With diode clipping options, there are more sounds in the stache. It's nastier sounding, whereas I'd say the TFR is beefier (??) Hope that helps. I really like muffs on bass, and these 2 are different enough to warrant me keeping both.
5. cheers folks, v happy with it! Ant - I still have the TFR too, they are quite different beasts (for muffs), and I change my mind between them on a daily basis! (this stache replaces the one I sold after I bought my TFR!!)
6. BOOM! yes, it's a grey stache with Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit outfit (looking slightly Freddie Mercury, but still damn cool)... Love it
7. My custom stache is here Picture tonight...
8.
I've been waiting for my Fuzzrocious Rat Tail to arrive before posting my board, so two months later here it is! Very happy with this set can't see it changing for a little while, does everything I need and more. I might add a Mooer delay so for one section of one of our songs where i need to delay to go pretty crazy very quickly.
nice - but what's the board? looks similar to a NYC pedalboard??
9. bump for price reductions...
10.
I'm with Gaz. Sounds like the Rusty Box to me. I used a similiar sound (but nowhere near as beefy) here (jazz bass + Rusty Box) - skip to 8:10 in: https://soundcloud.c...xtures-fittings
hey - sorry missed this post earlier, that sounds cool
11. cool - lots of photo updates expected over the next few days! my stache is sat in Bristol depot but I'm heading away for the weekend now - so photos coming probably tuesday - can't wait to see the paint job (was a special request)
12. I think in the right band / style of playing, it sounds immense. Shellac, Jesus Lizard etc, but it can be too much in some cases. But for the JL, it's perfect, IMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boUZqysP5go
13. listening to the song, and seeing the size of the pedal too, i'm 90% sure.... tronographic rusty box... sounds like jesus lizard bass to me, which is jazz bass and s/s traynor distortion...
14. fulltone ocd is a very good call, but also could be: OXFUZZ t-rex bass juice (it's creamy white) crowther audio pedals (hotcakes and the prunes & custard) are a creamy white too some of the mxr (guitar) dirt pedals are white lot of fuzzrocious pedals in white casings too
15. i can't help it - i've checked it 17 times today!
16. I really like the old EHX ring modulator, think it sounds awesome - used one in anger in the studio last year and really like how the bass track came out
17.
Out of interest, who did you hear that from?
you can use your USPS tracking number that Ry gave you on the parcelforce tracking site, once it says it's at the regional depot with charges to pay you can phone em up, pay, and get it delivered the next day
18. mine was shipped on the 18th and was in UK, awaiting customs charges, yesterday - pretty speedy. Build times are pretty quick at the minute I think - plus I think Ry just sent a box of pedals to Joe's Pedals (UK dealer), so keep an eye on them!
19. Just got 'the email' My stache (custom paint job!) has shipped. Excited!!!
20. Boomstick Filter pedal sold, pending the usual.
21.
New full band recordings. All feedback gratefully received.
just found this thread so listening to a range of soundcloud pages tonight - rather liking this (blind juggler especially). may as well do the soundcloud plug while I'm here: https://soundcloud.com/gazthefink a few songs from a few of the bands I've played in over the last ten years or so.
22. SOLD! [s]Hey - so having a bit of a clear out of pedals I am not using at the minute. Not really interested in trades thanks, need the cold hard cash! All pedals in fantastic condition, all with velcro on the bases. Prices include UK postage. Custom order Fuzzrocious Grey Stache. Probably going to regret this sale, but really need the money Aside from the awesome hand painted Burt Reynolds, it's a grey stache with diode clipping mods, so 3 varying muff style tones. Cost me £165 (including tax). Minus the paint job, you can get a stache similar to this for £145 from Joe's Pedals, so I'll put this up for £110 (including delivery).[/s]
23. it's like asking "if you could only have ONE string on your bass, which one would you pick?" - but saying that, it'd be an xotic bass BB preamp (and an E string!)...
24.
Yet again the my Muff clone is better than yours discussion.... fun. Just buy whatever you believe is best (believing something is better is as important as the pedal actually being better), they are all Muff based designs and will all give you oodles of dirt whilst screwing with your sound
yup - agreed (to a point). The thing is, it depends how picky you want to get. To my ears, my TFR sounds better with my P bass than my grey stache, but using my jazz, the opposite it true. There are loads of muff-clones out there, but there are quite a range of different sounding muff pedals. I like muffs, and think the two I have sound different enough to warrant owning, and using both. COG sounds a good shout as it's a UK builder and cheaper than importing from the states!! Best bet is to have a look over at bassfuzz.com, and see if one of the many muffs he has demo'ed appeals to you!
