PM'd but I'm guessing the one 2 above is for the same thing, sorry to hear you have to sell stuff man.
cheers dude - it's not as bad as I'm making it sound, I'm still keeping 3 basses and the pedals I use for my current bands PM's all replied to -
as an update, my grey stache is in the classified, but for no reason other than i have a massive medical bill to foot this year... it's no reflection on the stache!

SOLD fuzzrocious grey stache and BOSS PH1-r

so, due to looming medical bills I'm selling my JV squier and some pedals. sad times! BOSS PH1-r £SOLD this is a lovely analog phaser, 4-stages and works really well before fuzz pedals. resonance control means you can dial it in very subtle if required. i love the tone of this, having been on quite a phaser quest in recent months/years, settled on this eventually. Fuzzrocious Grey Stache £SOLD hand painted grey stache, a kickass muff clone. mine has a 3 position switch for germanium diode clipping, LED diode clipping or (stock setting) no diodes. germanium in particular is lovely, giving a smooth, lower gain tone. the second footswitch controls a gate, which works really well, and excels when driven with an o/d pedal too. mids control mean this is very good at cutting it in a band mix. as per my thread selling the JV bass, I am hoping to not have to sell these, but will most likely have to, so gauging interest for now. pic below (NB phat phuk not for sale... my kidney goes before i sell that one. and that delay has long since gone!):
I'm surprised not many have mentioned the JVs
for me, they're really good basses, but i don't think they compare to a high spec fender, or say a mike lull or lakland. I have two JV's and they're great, but the 2011 US fender precision i got recently is a better bass in my opinion. I've not tried one of the very early fender decal JV's though. if money was no object at all, i'd get a fender custom shop P and be done with it, though saying that the new AV63 precision looks amazing (sonic blue!)

good thread, and a great pedal company. Si your OSD looks amazing! I just have the one fuzzrocious pedal at present, a grey stache with a gate on the 2nd footswitch, and Ge and LED diode clipping on a 3-way toggle. It's a staggeringly good muff, and plays really well with an o/d pedal in front of it... I used to have a tremorslo (tremolo pedal) and an oh see demon (OCD-based distortion), but sold them as they weren't quite what I was after at that time... but I really regret selling the OSD I see on Ry's facebook page that Ant has got a custom painted rat tail on its way, so that'll be appearing below shortly I should think very tempted to pick up a rat tail myself in the future too... though may get another OSD first!
The analog chorus is a clone/ reworking of the old boss ce5. It can do lush, soupy to subtle and all points between
It sounds like a winner to me... just for some reason I'm drawn to the TC, even though I'm not normally a fan of digital effects! Has anyone compared the TC to the MXR? Not sure any locals shops round my way stock both...
EHX Clone Theory. That's what Hooky used.
I'm not too keen on having an old EHX pedal on the board, not the most road-worthy in my experience! Is the EHX re-issue any good? most new EHX stuff I've tried (microsynth in particular) is pretty poor when compared to the original versions...
-
I always say xotic BB preamp as a default on these threads, but if you want 'trashy' (nasty / aggressive) then I second the idea of a RAT, or possibly a fulltone OCD or clone (fuzzrocious OSD?)

hey folks, sorry to start another chorus thread, but after some advice between 2 pedals in particular, and I suppose opinions on digital vs analog when it comes to chorus. I have never really used chorus before, but one of my bands is moving in a joy division / cure kind of direction, and it could add something nice for occasional use... I love simple pedals, and would have picked up the MXR micro chorus, if I hadn't heard so many negative comments regarding the volume jump when turning it on. anyway, don't wanna spend over £100, and it seems the TC corona and the MXR analog chorus are pretty good bets for digital and analog units respectively. does anybody have strong feelings either way between these two? not having much experience with chorus pedals, is there much difference between analog and digital, in the way there is with delay, for example?? any thoughts appreciated. cheers
Gaz whatcha got?
I've got a BOSS PH1-r... best phaser I've ever heard Used to have a PS-3 as well, and gutted I sold it really... that pedal and a micro POG and you can cop the tones from almost any song Battles ever made
-
blimey - that lot would need a bit more than a PT Jr! Also, i think i may actually have an old boss pedal that's NOT on your list!!
-
big +1 to everything tayste said, i use the W&C phat phuk B for exactly this, and before I got it, I was borrowing the mxr pedal from a mate, which also does the trick.
-
something else worth saying is if you are unsure, buy your pedals from the bc classifieds, and if you don't like the pedal, you should be able to move it on for no loss, or a minimal loss... there are also several online shops that offer no quibble refunds if you return within 7 days.
Great looking board with some top effects, although the space should really be taken up by an OC-2 Si
cheers - and the oc-2 has definitely been on the radar, used to own one. i don't know what it is though, love the sound, but the tracking gets me... the only octave i have tried that i enjoyed playing with was a POG, but that sounds too digital for me... i think octaves aren't for me...

I hope this isn't the start of a slippery slope to bigger things... but I've finally bitten the bullet and decided the PT mini is too small for my needs!!! I'm having a trial run on a PT-Jr sized board, and if I get on with it at practise, will probably get a PT-Jr and voodoo PP2+ setup... (powering this with a diago at the mo) pretty straightforward chain: phat phuk B to BB preamp to TFR to PN-2 into RE-20 then TU-2. The three boost/dirt pedals sit really well together, as the PPB can drive the BB nicely, and the BB into the TFR is massive The space is for a chorus when I make my mind up (probably a TC corona)... Hopefully this should stay the same for a while, I've been using most of these pedals for quite some time, just kept swapping them off and back onto the smaller board!

very basically, digital delays give you a really clean, pristine repeated note. some say these delays sound overly 'sterile'. They aren't good for creating ambient soundscapes in my opinion, but are great if you want to clearly hear the repeated notes cut through. Boss DD-3 is a v good, solid (basic) digital delay. analog delays have darker (warmer?) repeats, which some prefer. these pedals can self-oscillate at extreme settings. best bet is to listen to some pro guitar shop or similar demo videos (sadly only on guitar) for a few pedals (try DD-3 and mxr carbon copy), and you should start to get a feel for which you may prefer. a look at the post your pedal board threads will show that some people have digital and analog delays on the same boards... it's very much down to personal taste. I like using analog delays, but find they don't cut through clearly enough when playing with a full band, so use a digital delay (well, a digital delay that trys to model an analog delay!). best advise is to listen to some demos and try out a few and see which you prefer. like most types of effect, doubtful you'll get a clear concensus on a forum as to the 'best' of anything, it's all down to personal opinion! happy hunting...

old boss CEB-3 on ebay?
-
i'm looking round for a chorus at present, and very tempted by the TC corona chorus... the troy sanders and duff mckagen tone prints sound really good on the videos (not too extreme), so that could be worth a shot
-
also, for delay, do you want digital or analog, or analog-voiced digital? digital and analog delays are so different as to almost be different effects. personally, I have tried a lot of both and settled on a boss RE-20 space echo, as sonically i think it's the best of both worlds, and has a dedicated tap tempo switch too. interested to hear opinions on chorus, as i'm considering getting one soon. so far, I'm leaning towards the TC corona chorus - the troy sanders (mastodon) toneprint sounds really nice!
-
i really liked the phase 90 i used to have, just a bit too full on for what i wanted at the time... the sound of that pedal really reminds me of the bass (and guitar, especially) on morning view by incubus.

if i was buying new, i'd definitely look to try the eqd grand orbiter, looks pretty nice...
