1. knightfall SOLD
2. Here's my little board, slight downsizing as I realised I was only using these pedals in the current band... so moved from Metro 24 back to old PT Mini. Feels right! I just prefer the design of these to the new metro's, and the old bags were better, I don't care what PT say!!!
3. Due to a very large and totally unexpected car bill, I am going to have to sell the remaining pedals that aren't on my band board... No trades, as the cash all goes to the garage! Price includes UK postage (recorded delivery). Solid Gold FX Formula 76 SOLD COG Knightfall SOLD BOSS BF-2. SOLD
4. there are always exceptions, but generally, anything will work on both guitar and bass just fine. Depending on how you use them in your setup, etc, there may be problems using some 'guitar' pedals on bass with low end loss (dirt pedals, in particular), and you may not like some modulation pedals effecting the lower register notes. But if you bi-amp, or use blenders, loops, etc, you can pretty much use any combination of pedals you want. Nothing will simply 'not work' for bass because it isn't made specifically for bass. all about experimenting
5. without knowing your normal amp setup - i get a lot of feedback with I step on my wren and cuff TFR, stood probably 2-3m from my amp, but another couple of feet and I'm out of range
6. the noise with the jazz pickup, and not the P, could be related to 60 cycle hum? and as for feedback when turning on the wren and cuff, how close were you stood to that ampeg and two cabs setup - I would expect lots of feedback stepping on a muff and being within a couple of metres of that rig!
7.
the latest edition! Andy
Andy - please tell me you're still doing a comparison / shoot out?? 3 muffs and 2 rats? edit - or is that 4 muffs??
8.
For many years, I was a tuner-only kind of guy. Then one day there was an overdrive. And a few years after that, a chorus. Last summer it got to the point where at every gig and rehearsal I was having to set up four pedals, and I thought "well, time for a board." I've now finally managed to get to the point where I consider version 1 of my pedalboard to be complete. Using EBS PCF-10 cables for connecting, which is why those three pedals on the left (chorus, overdrive, fuzz) can get so snug together. Here's a snap of its bum: That's a Warwick Rockboard Power LT XL in the bottom left. No longer do I need to find a place to plug in, nor worry about hum. My only disappointment is that it doesn't actually have a power button, so you need to unplug it when you're not using it, which is a fiddle. It's also slightly thicker than I'd like - it doesn't quite fit snugly into the cavity underneath, but thanks to the additional height of the pedalboard's feet, it still doesn't touch the ground. What's next? Find a way to secure that power supply more securely. Maybe replace all that velcro on the underside with self-adhesive cable tie anchors. And of course, try out new pedals. S.P.
that's a nice little setup you have there - 'what's next' is a rabbit hole
9. oh, what do you think of the TK421x???
10. you absolute monkey! I was in PMT today picking up an MXR micro amp and they have all the strymon stuff. The timeline looks so tiny, I thought it would be twice the size it is! very tempted to get one at some point. 100% don't need one but they look so much fun!
11. OK, 'top' is subjective, of course, but there are shed loads of exciting looking pedals due out this year, some I'd heard of, but some complete surprises (wren and cuff release 2 new pedals, neither is a muff!!!) http://www.bestguitareffects.com/top-best-guitar-effects-pedals-winter-namm-2016/ personally, that new EQD delay / reverb looks cracking
12. well, I use a passive P and three main dirt pedals, the same BB preamp and TFR that you do, with a COG rat pedal (TK412x) in the middle. I think it is a very good type of pedal to go between the BB and the TFR. Certainly, some sort of nastier, raspy distortion would, IMO, fit between those two nicely...
13. enjoy the TK, I can't say enough good things about mine, that and the TFR are just perfect as far as I'm concerned!
14. new pic of my board. i have played this setup for a few months and a few gigs now, and think I've settled on this for the new band, though we're into the studio in 5 or 6 weeks, no doubt it'll all change after that! still itching to try an EQD afterneath...
15. brass plectrums help too!
16. a stingray is the most aggressive bass I have used, but any bass with a good, bass-specific RAT pedal will sound (IMO) nastier than any bass not going through such a pedal
17. hard to tell from your post, but if your 3 flavours of drive doesn't include fuzz, there are lots of fun options there! a nice muff, or something aggressive and gated? an interesting reverb was the first thing I thought of, £50 may be a challenge, but a secondhand reverb from TC like the hall of fame would be a good shout (tone prints give you a lot of fun options). an old guitar model whammy pedal would be a LOT of fun, not sure of the second hand prices, but £50 may be reasonable??
18. MXR analog chorus... I used to hate chorus, for years, before I realised how much you can use it for! It's my most used pedal now, on its own, or with OC-2, or overdrive, or fuzz, or delay... lush
19. apologies if I sound negative, but that delay pedal sounds like crap!!
20. but then i remember I have gone through about 20 delays, and in the end I can happily manage with a dispatch master for all my reverb and delay needs... if EQD did a bigger dispatch master with tap tempo and slightly louder delays I'd be all over it
21. I have had the same inner-thought process recently... it's a dangerous path that leads to a blue sky and a timeline and a big overdraft!!

Bristol Bash

well that instantly makes things more appealing / easy for me as I live in Staple Hill
23. I see a Strymon in my life in 2016...
24. I know too well - once the thought sets up camp in your head, hard to shake it!!
