Genz Benz Streamliner 900.. Any good?
thebassman replied to GetYourFunkOut93's topic in Amps and Cabs
I owned a GB streamliner 600 for a while, I didn't get on with it either. To me it sounded too wooly with no definition, no matter what i did with the EQ I got totally lost in the band mix with 2 valve amp guitars and drums. Ended up with a GB shuttlemax 9.2 and love it, especially the FET channel. It sounds clear and defined, sits great in the mix without having to deafen everyone. Cheers Thebassman -
True bi-amp...which isn't what the GK amp actually has, IMO.. is the ability to split the signal and send his and lows to specialist cabs and you need a variable cross-over for this. Nice idea in theory but not really that useful, when all said and done. You end up with twice the gear..as you run a stereo rig...for the same power...so hence, marginal gains, if any. IMO.
I'm not sure what "true bi-amp" actually is or how usefull it is, but the Galilien and Krueger 700RBii and the 410 RBH cab are set up already for bi-amp. All you need to do is to connect them with a 4 core speakon cable, 1-, 1+ for the woofer and 2-, 2+ for the tweeter. You can buy the cable from our very own OBBM on here, http://bassic-bits.co.uk/, 1 metre cable for £20.50. You can then control the woofer and tweeter independantly. 1 amp, 1 cab, simples. cheers thebassman
Would this work well with the GK 410RBH?
Sure would. You can also use the bi-amp set up on the full GK rig. GK gear should get you a nice gritty Muse/ RATM tone also, happy days. cheers thebassman

I take an Orange bass terror as a back up. I've had a couple of amp failures over the years, and I can't afford to be let down in a live situation. Our pa is vocals only, so I can't just use a di.
I purchased mine least year then broke my wrist, the same day! I only used mine for it's first proper gig with the 2x12T last weekend although we have had lots of full scale practices. It was very useful having one channel set up for the electric up right and the other for the stingrays
Oh, that's a nightmare about your wrist. I'm using mine with a Boogie 2x12T and my Stingray 5, it sounds insane.
My Genz Shuttlemax 9.2 is awesome, both channels are ace and I can't decide which I prefer but I don't have to as its just a click of the footswitch to change channels
Yep, me too. I get to use it in anger tomorrow night for the first time :-)

Hi Guys I have an SKB 4U Ultimate Strength Series Roto Rack for sale. I wouldn't trust my gear in anything else. It is lightweight, has moulded handles and front and back access. It's in great condition, has had little use. Here is a link from the SKB site http://www.skbcases....set=1&c=80&s=80# I'm looking for £75 cheers thebassman

Hi guys I have a Mesa Boogie bronco 2U head case for sale. Designed for a Mesa Boogie M6/ M9 or any mPulse series amp, although any full size 2U amp will fit. Its the usual Mesa quality, very well built and sturdy. It has heavy duty fold down handles. It's in great condition, just has scuffs on the plastic corner protectors. I'm looking for £80. The Mesa M6 amp is not included in the sale, it's just to show fitment cheers thebassman

Help! M6 Mesa, Ampeg svt3 or Aguilar AG500
thebassman replied to bassmasterwraith's topic in Amps and Cabs
Thanks guys, I've gone for the Aguilar just because its cheaper!
Did you get a dual or single channel? Cheers Thebassmn -
How does this sound? I know this is a basic question!! I tried a 400+ and was very disappointed even though it is immense!! In terms of grunt
Hi It has more grunt than you will ever need, 600 watts of real authoritive power. You can dial in the 5 position mid selector to get a nice warm valve tone all the way up to a mega punchy driving tone. I liked the 400+, but I found it really muddy, it had loads of power but I used to get lost in the mix. If you have any spare time, check out the TalkBass m6 mega thread, those guys love it. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/mesa-m6-carbine-mega-thread-part-3-a-650307/ Cheers Thebassman
