2. Hi guys i am thinking i want to rack mount my Mesa M6 Carbine. I used to have a SKB case, it was very good, but for the full depth one it's £135 +. This is madness, as the 2U shallow rack case is only £65. Any other recommendations? cheers thebassman
 3.
There's an attenuator - the rotary dial sits set back in one of the port sections and is easy to miss until you look, so it should be OK after adjustment.
Thats good, i was about to ask that question. I had an email from Alex about the Bassman 135, he said it's a quiet amp and the increased SPL on the S12T won't make a lot of difference. Still will be loud enough for pub gigs though, and the sound is fantastic, so i shall not let that put me off. cheers thebassman
 4.
Thats where I was going wrong for so many years. Pesky treble guitars.
That's it, you want to get one of those big upright basses..... That's what you call a mans bass
 5.
While you're waiting for a reply you could call Alex.
I emailed him this morning, but no reply. I will give him a call tomorrow.
 6.
Well for my current Amp, the Mesa M6, Alex recommends the S12T. He says it should reproduce my existing Mesa cab tones/clarity, but will have a higher SPL and also in a lighter package. Sounds perfect to me. He also mentioned about their 28 day trial and return period, sounds great just in case it doesn't live up to my expecations. All i have to do now is decide what to do with my existing Mesa cab.
Bit of a long shot, but has anyone used the S12T with a Fender bassman 135, or another old valve head? Just wondering how it might sound. Cheers Thebassman
 7.
Where's that old thread about not being a bass player unless you use a valve SVT through two 8x10s for a pub gig.....
Yeah, that thread was hours of entertainment. I guess the troll has hidden back under his bridge

 9.
Hey guys I'm looking at a Orange Crush 35B Bass combo 2nd hand I just wanted to ask for peoples opinions on this bit of kit please. Any good ? Experiences ? Do you think £100 is a good price for this ? Any help would be greatly received thanks again for your time
I have had mine for about 3 years, i wouldn't be without it for home practice. Don't get me wrong, i wouldn't say it sounds like a traditional Orange, but i does sound like a Bass amp. I tried out quite a few smaller amps with an 8" or 10" speaker and they all sounded a bit weedy and rattley at higher volumes, this one with it's 12" speaker sounds great at all volumes. £100 sounds a bit steep, i think i only paid that when i bought mine from new, it has been discontinued though. I thought a guy on here was selling one cheaper than that a few days ago, might be worth doing a search. In fact here it is; http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...hl=orange+crush and no it's not mine and i don't know the guy cheers thebassman

 12.
Hi, I've got a S12T - what do you want to know? Cheers Mark
Not sure really. I have been looking at the Super 12T for quite a while, but just noticed the Big Twin... so i have been trying to find out if, or how, much better it is. I am just a bit nervous of using my M6 out of it's 2x12 combo. The sound of the Mesa is huge, very full range sounding cab. But it is very big and very heavy and i often have to lift it out of the car and up some steps into my house on my own. This is not good, it is really too big and heavy for a one man lift. cheers thebassman
 13.
I'd like to hear some comparisons of the two as well actually. I think someone on BC has the Super Twelve T but I've not seen either a 'Big One T' or 'Big Twin T' at all. Are there actually any out in the wild yet?
I'm not sure, i think the big one has been discontinued though.
 14. Hi guys I have been looking a getting a new bass cab recently. I have a Mesa M6 Carbine so 600 watts @ ohms. I currently have it as part of the 2x12 M6 combo, but i am thinking about taking it out and using with a separate cab. It's a fantastic combo, just a bit heavy for a 1 man lift. Has any tried, seen or maybe actually own one of these. I am looking for user experiences or opinions. Cheers thebassman Super Twelve T Big Twin
 15. What choice of heads are driving these cabs? Is it mainly GB and TC heads?
 16.
The Mesa m6 combo with 2 12s looks tasty but would bankrupt me for ever possibly.
It's very tasty, but has just been discontinued, so you had better be quick if you want one. I have used mine at small pub venues and out door venues, on the back of a lorry, with no PA support. Still has bags of power in reserve.
 17.
+2 again
That's good to know, I know they look fantastic, but I wasn't sure if it was all style and no substance. You don't see them mentioned very often. It's a bit new to me, I have always been a Mesa fan, with a bit of retro fender thrown in. I quite fancy trying out some different gear.
 18.
Try Bass Direct in Warwick.. And I should have my BFS12T in a week or so's time and you're welcome to try it.. I'm about 15 minutes drive away from Bass Direct...
Thanks for the offer markstuk. Your lucky living that close, my nearest decent shop is the bass centre in London. I have never been to bass direct, although have spoke to Mark............ he's a legend. Do they have much stock? My "local" shops only stock either practice amps or guitard gear, you have to order it in to try it out.. what a joke.
 19.
Two single 12"'s..?? might be a more expensive way to buy new though.. The GB NEOX212 is rated ...if you can get past its looks. What about the Uber series.... a 212 with a twist?
Thanks guys I will have a look into them. Just got to find someone who has them in stock now.
 20. Hi So, i love the sound my Mesa M6 carbine 2x12 combo creates. I thought i would have a look around for a seperate cab to run with my Bassman 135 and maybe even pass on my combo and get a seperate head Don't know whether i would get another M6 or go for something a bit more micro, maybe a bass terror or something. Anyone got any recommendations, preferably 4 ohms, i like the look of the purple chilli cabs. cheers thebassman
 21. Has anyone tried or owned the terror with an Orange sp212? Would be good to get some opinions. Cheers Thebassman
 22. Bump for a nice rig. I can vouch for the M6 carbine combo, awesome sounding..... You won't regret it. Cheers Thebassman
 23.
I need to replace all the drivers in my 90s SWR Goliath III 4 x 10. (grey hammered grille, not chrome or diamond shape). I think the originals are PAS or possibly Eminence.
Sounds a bit obvious, but have you tried getting one out, checking for part numbers and googleing it. Some one might have them listed. Cheers Thebassman
 24.
I tried bass direct alright but they don't have the M9 in stock and aren't sure when they'll have them in. Tried Bass Merchant's website and there's no Mesa gear listed, I'll get in contact and see what they say.
Thats the problem with most music shops, they don't stock any high end gear. That goes for amps, cabs ana basses. They expect you to "buy before you try". I can definatley vouch for the M6 carbine, best sounding amp I have ever owned.
 25.
Hey guys. I'm looking to buy a Mesa M9 Carbine but it's so hard to find a dealer that has it in stock. Can anyone help me out on this?? Cheers.
Have you tried bassdirect, they had them a while ago.
