1. Sold Tim an amp and it was very straightforward and pleasant. He's one of the good guys.
 2. It sounds like you're going to have to do more than just replace the fan and speaker. I think there's a good chance the faulty fan may have taken out your output transistors.
 3.
Everything = Mark King to be fair. The man's a ridiculous gear whore
I think you might find the band's manager has something to do with that.
 4.
Become fashionable and cool. They need a Flea or a Geddy, Nathan East aint cutting it.
I agree with this. It's all about image and who uses your product. It's critical. Let's face it, who wants to go on stage with a Benson or a Lindo?
 5. Only one bass here. I have owned two at various times but I found I only played the one I preferred. However, I can switch between a Precision and a Stingray sound and that's enough for me.
 6. I do like a good mystery!
 7. Fair enough (we're only having a bit of fun).
 8. Oh, I missed that. What did it say?
 9.
.... If so, I have.
Indeed. It says so in your sig.
 10. There are an awful lot of people reading this thread ......
 11. I've got a lot of time for Ashdown but they really should poach the TC Electronics marketing team, who are streets ahead of anyone else in the business at the moment. From what I can see, their main selling points are price and a custom front panel. They've got an uphill struggle now, even though they were one of the very first in the race. They're not going to get another chance at this niche market sector. I really hope they've done their homework. The comments on here so far indicate that they haven't.
 12. This is very generous. I think the whole Basschat community owes you a pint.
 13. The tuning sounds out when you're playing up the neck. When you're lower down it's OK. I wonder if your bridge is adjusted properly. Have you tried checking your tuning at the octave? I could be completely wrong though....
 14.
Stevie is becoming my new favourite. Basic trolling done brilliantly and non-argumentatively.
You are too kind, sir I certainly think that anyone who puts forward a strong opinion ought to be able to back it up. But really, it was just a straightforward question. Bergantino is obviously doing something right judging from the company's reputation amongst players.
 15.
The view that Bergantino just uses "bits in a box" is one that can be disagreed with and also dismissed.
Care to elaborate?
 16.
I am always a little suspect of these kinds of endorsements. Wal never have endorsees, only people who buy the damn things. THe process has far more integrity that way. If Geddy has a Wal, its because he wanted a Wal and bought one. Speaks volumes.
It does indeed, and you're right to be sceptical. But Wal is a small manufacturer and probably happy to stay that way. Be that as it may, I've seen the way a good endorsee can send your sales through the roof.
 17.
Hey, I'm not actually complaining. I'm just discussing my opinion. This is allowed. Please dont dismiss other views just because you might not agree.
I'm not dismissing your view in the slightest - honest! I'm just making the case for using a high quality speaker system for bass. Whether you get such a system by spending a lot of money is, as you quite rightly point out, in the lap of the gods, because it's often difficult to know what you're getting for your money.
 18.
Possible, agreed, but insane. For what is effectively 4 high end speakers and a few other bits in a box!
These high end drivers are built in relatively small quantities and benefit from the manufacturer's latest and best R&D. I have an Eminence 3012LF here, a very nice driver - certainly a lot better than the speakers fitted to most bass cabs. But when you put it next to the BMS driver I also have, you can see the difference in quality immediately. That quality comes at a price, unfortunately. I'd rather have a £200 bass and a £1,000 speaker cabinet than the other way round. Come to think of it, that's basically what I've got. There are a very few bass cab makers using high-end drivers: isn't Bergantino one?
 19.
Some neo cabs are just getting to silly prices, IMO. I can understand a quality cabinet, and the reasons behind high end amps, but at £1000+ for a 4x10, id rather put into an instrument.
Top quality drivers are expensive. If you want a really high-end 10", you will pay at least £100 each at retail prices. I can see how a price of £1,000 is possible.
 20.
I can't be bothered with such an idiotic post.
It's difficult to argue with such an incisive and carefully crafted critique.
 21.
Speaking of Neo cabs, why the HUGE price difference between GK Neo cabinets and, for example, Mark Bass cabinets?!
The difference is probably due to the quality and cost of the drivers they fit.
 22.
As for the speaker industry..it will prompt alternatives and R&D, IMO.
Well, there's Fe16N2..... and you heard it first on Basschat.
 23.
No.. he'd research and source alternatives.
Of course he would.
Back to reality, the sales levels of the cabs concerned don't warrant it.
That would make a lot more sense.
 24.
Apparently, Bergantino was the only person that B&C made that particular horn for.
It sounds to me like he was the last one left using the non-neo bullet tweeter that used to be a standard B&C product. All their other customers will have moved over to the neo version or are using something else.
 25.
...but it doesn't seem to be worth his while. Hence it's not 'ridiculous'.
What's ridiculous is the idea that he would scrap the products just because he can't get hold of the old tweeters. There's clearly more to it than that. What would he do if all of his products used that tweeter - scrap his whole product range?
