Feedback for sk8

Bought a pedal from Mike. Ace to deal with!!!!
3. 'Rockwood' by Hohner 4 string in bright red. Pile of s***. Part ex'ed it for a Bass Collection in '95 which I still own...
4. Tony Kanal from No Doubt. I just love playing 'Spiderwebs' and 'Different People'. Tragic Kingdom has a perfect mix of funk/ska/pop/rock/punk/reggae/disco playing Even 'Don't Speak' has got a pretty good melodic line too. Jon
5. I did the course a couple of years ago and I can thoroughly recommend it. That's me on John's page with the jazz bass and clerks T-shirt. The course is really rewarding and you come back with a really good quality instrument. That went for all four of us on the course... The guy in the picture above me was younger than 15 but his Dad did the course as well. Best to ask John. John is an excellent teacher. He has just the right balance between letting the student do almost all of the work but helping where necessary. Some people might think the course is quite expensive at £600 odd but considering the level of tuition and quality of materials and instrument produced I think it was bloody good value. You of course get to take the bass home with you. I would like to do the second course but it may have to wait until my 9 week old daughter is a bit older... Jon
6. Now i come to think of it he's recorded tone is very p-bass. Never really noticed it before. I'd forgotten how much I was into him back in the day (as a bass player that is). I think he really is the master of the well placed bass fill. The one before the bridge in '18 and Life' or the one before the solo in 'I Remember You' for example. Sheer class. Anyone got Skid Row's cover of Little Wing? Probably complete heresy but I actually think it's better than the original!
7. nah the nose ring's still there but the chain has gone. As has the long hair. In fact i think the singer mentioned it as he introduced Rachel for Psychotherapy
8. Piece of Me - what a great bass line - simple but effective! Yes I'm never convinced by endorsements. Interestingly he seems to be playing the same white sparkly spector that he played on the tour for the first album. Gassing for a spector now...
9. Saw Skid Row last night (without Sebastian unfortunately) and Rachel Bolan is still providing some ace low end. I love that Spector into Gallien-Krueger sound... Considering he is in his early 40's he looks younger than me. He was one of my favourite players back in the day. Anyone else remember him? The Monkey Business 'solo' that he did at Donington '92 is probably one of the main reasons I play bass!
10. Surely this would make a good xmas present for someone!!!!

14. Around £600 so not cheap I guess but that includes all materials and you do get to take the bass home with you. Definitely an experience you won't ever forget too...
15. +1 on the course Jon Shuker runs. That's me on his site wearing the clerks T-shirt with my beautiful Jazz bass.
16.
Congratulations on your daughter!
Cheers mate!
17. here's a slightly different setup of Neil's... There seems to be blue-tack or similar around some of the knobs (e.g LS2 or BSW) to fix the settings. I've not seen this before...cunning. 18. is that a boss digital metalizer on his board? wonder what that sounds like on bass... If i remember correct it's metal distortion with built in chorus?!
19. how about a Gibson Grabber or Ripper as played by Mike Dirnt in the Dookie days...
20. another vote for ibanez soundgear basses. By far the thinest necks i've played.... Bass collection or Tune basses are also pretty thin. Basically looking at late 80's or 90's metal/shred influenced designs would be your best bet. I'm not sure I'd agree with the comments on jazz basses. The width is pretty narrow yes but not that 'thin' by ibanez standards.
