Why oh why didn't I win the lottery? Probably should have bought a ticket first... http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/fender-precision-bass-1968-1969/1045913575

We've all made tougher decisions than this

Please excuse the ignorance but... what is this thing? -
also this looks like could be worht a watch for any peeps in the midlands looking for a 5 http://www.ebay.co.u...G-/370992211764
I'm not a Yamaha expert but on their web site there's no LN model listed. This one looks quite a lot like a BBN5 mark 1 I bought on gumtree recently for £chips, nowhere near the asking £185 + 22 postage. I've heard those go for around £150

I wouldn't write off Schroeder cabs mate (Yeah I'm biased, I know ). 1210L or 1212L. Light, compact, loud, full range and low-mid rich cabs. Fat. Never tried the Vanderkleys tho.

With all due respect... I play 3-6 gigs per week with 4 different regular bands and dep for another 10... People still do enjoy Superstition and Play the funky muisc, especially when played well and with love. And the audience I play to is mainly in their early 20s, I do mainly clubs and nice modern pubs. Of course Bruno Mars, Jessie J, all of the new ones are on the list, but people still do enjoy classics. Agencies always have their visions and opinions and guidelines, I personally stay away from agencies anyway for certain reasons but that's probably fuel for another discussion .

PreSonus Studio channel. Very nice compressor, and it's actually a channel strip - pre (with a low voltage 12ax7), the compressor and an outstanding EQ. Bought it second hand for £150...

Hi guys, Recorded a few songs for this guy last year and the record has just been finished so I thought I'd share it. Done in a day, the drummer and I in a recording studio. The guy gave us guidelines and basic structure, everything else is pretty much improvised on the spot. http://www.dollhunt.com/ Recorded with my '98 StingRay5, Laney nexus tube head and Epifani UL310. Miked up and line out signals mixed. Elixir strings... I wish I had used uncoated strings for this recording for a bit more definition but... next time .

Hi everyone, I have an Audere 3zb incoming, which I'm buying for modifying one of my basses. Vol, bass, mid/mid (stacked), treble, balance and a Z-mode switch. Comes with black knobs. However before I start drilling any holes in the bass, just wondering if anyone fancies a swap for his U-retro? The reason I'm looking for a John East is that the bass I am modifying is an entry level Yamaha and the Audere preamps are more transparent than JE. I've just installed an Audere in my Jazz bass and could't be happier(thanks Mcnach). My fender tone is there, but it's on steroids. Now John East shapes the tone much more, it's got much stronger character and therefore I thought it's gonna be more suitable for using in a bass where I do not care about keeping the original tone flavour. So if you got one but you want a bit more of the real tone of your bass, give me a shout . I'm based in NW London.

Thanks for those mate, it gives an idea. I think I'll be able to actually achieve similar results without routing, cos the audere pots are very compact and I guess I could drill the new holes just at the edge... Once I get the bass this Sunday it'll all be more clear .

That's still there, £750 with a £25 courier option. I looked at the photos, can't really see heavy wear apart from a chip right above the pickup... If I had money, I would have been driving to Reading right now...

Ah well I couldn't resist. At that price, even tho I'm broke at the moment, would have been an absolute shame to miss it...

Actually I think I could get that with minimal routing Still not sure about the knobs order though... Logically I'd wanna have Vol - Hi - Mid - Low and the one at the far right would be balance. (As on the photo) However the mid pot is a stacked one so it'll probably drive my OCD to extremes sitting in a row with all the single ones. might do Vol - Hi - Low - Bal and leave the stacked mids for the far right...

Ah well if I get paid for some gigs I did last year and it's still there I'll take it for my BBN5...

I was trying to avoid expanding the cavity but it might come to that eventually... Yes please mate, I'd love a couple of front and cavity photos if you can...

Hi guys, I've recently bought a cheap Yamaha BBN5 which I intend to transform into a bass monster . I got a nice Audere 3zb for it, the problem is the Yamaha only has 3 knobs and the Audere comes with 5 plus a switch and a LED. Now the cavity of the BBN is very small, but I am pretty sure I'd be able to fit everything there. Intending to install the battery in a flat box on the cavity lid. So here's a few photos (please excuse the quality), which configuration you like more?
