  1. I would consider sensible offers or part trades although there’s not many basses I’m currently interested in but try me, I could only say no . Always been curious about Tobias Killer B5 and MTD AG5 (of the Kingston variety) but the one with the updated electronics.
  2. Yes sir! Sorry it took me ages to measure…
  3. One of the best standalone cabs I’ve ever owned. Loud, focused and clear, sound is full and punchy and I’ve never felt the need of a second one on the various big and small stages I’ve used it. A lot more transparent than the Schroeder cabs I’ve used but just as loud. Relatively small and light. Plus the treble switching system allows for a very precise tuning to taste. GLWTS.
  4. Good question! Can’t remember - I’ll measure it tomorrow when I’m back. @Acebassmusic thanks a lot for the photo mate, it does really look that stunning under the sunlight!
  5. Hi guys, selling this beautiful Roscoe LG5 in custom red bought from Bass Direct early last year - it just doesn’t get played as I have too many and need to offload. Bass is in great condition for the age, some minor scratches and the colour is gorgeous - photos simply don’t do it justice. It is all original apart from the upgraded Babicz bridge - I should have the original somewhere but until I manage to find it let’s consider it’s not available. This gets you one of the best boutique finger style sounds out there and they were hugely popular in the 80-90’s on the US session scene - for a reason. Strings are nearly new MarkBass coated, action is low, feels smooth and easy to play. As far as I remember weighs around 4kg - will try to check it next week. Not looking for any trades. Not willing to ship - but happy to deliver within 100 miles of west London for petrol money. Also have somebody in Birmingham I can leave it with if needs to. Bass comes with a moulded case.
  6. With all due respect - elixir nickels have gold ball ends. The stainless steels have (had cos they’re not making them anymore) silver ball ends. Every string has a certain stiffness to it and I’m very used to that of the elixirs. The ones I got from the link felt like they’re made from softer metal and were bending and generally feeling a lot more flexible and yes - rubbery. You can get tons of bass strings made in the far east for around the 10-15 quid mark and that’s exactly how they feel like - soft and rubbery. And it’ll make a pretty good profit if you put them in an expensive brand box and sold them for 3x the cost.
  7. I’ve bought strings from the second link and they were fake. I have been using elixir exclusively for 20 years and I can spot a fake straight from taking it out of the box. They didn’t have coating, were extremely soft and rubbery and generally felt like a £10 worth wish.com copy. When I contacted the seller, they were surprised apparently. What is the Bulgarian connection out of curiosity? I’m Bulgarian too but living in London for many years.
  8. Absolute pleasure meeting David and having a chat about bass, bees, life and everything! Deal with confidence. Thank you!
  9. If anyone is eyeing this and still hesitating - buy it! Those are awesome, had a 5 which I sold to a friend who fell in love with it and wouldn’t leave me alone - one of the most amazing playing and sounding basses I have ever owned (and I’ve owned a few pretty decent ones…). If it was a 5 I would have grabbed it.
  10. Hey guys, Please check out my channel's new video. It's something different this time - a bass play along track with a real live band! Please have a play and share your thoughts! I've also renamed the channel to The DataBass because apparently some guys called Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey have already claimed the Bass Vault :)...
  11. Hi guys, here’s a new video for you - a Ray Ross bridge on my 55-94 Lakland. Installation and sound comparison Hope you enjoy!
  12. Here’s another one guys - this time on my 55-94 Lakland
  13. Is that what he uses there!? might be tempted to part with my MTD and my PJ Lakland for that!
  14. Hi guys, Please check out my new video on left hand muting technique - plus a bonus bass backing track at the end of the video if you wanna jam with my band
  15. I did try to keep those conditions the same to the best of my ability, I know the track well and did my best to play applying the same force and dynamics, I haven’t changed anything on the recording path - input gain, compressor, channel volume are the same for both tracks. Strings are a new set of Elixir, the brand I’ve been using for 15 years and I know their durability very well - there would have been zero sound change between the takes all taken within half an hour.
  16. Oh absolutely man. Whatever does it for me, wouldn’t necessarily work for everyone else. I don’t mind having a discussion about it, I would just prefer if both for and against sides have an actual experience with the product, then it’s a fair argument. Without trying, everything is based on assumptions.
  17. Fair enough mate - I personally can hear a difference, and I’m definitely not after results that are not there. If you like to, drop me a message with your email address and I will send you the wav files of the bass only as I’ve recorded them.
  18. Fair enough mate, valid arguments. When I have it on again, I’ll test it the way you suggest and report I’m also curious to check if it has an issue in that department.
  19. I understand - indeed if I sat down with a Peq I could replicate the sound difference, however in my personal preference I’d rather have that naturally from the bass without the need to dial it in, I like when little things contribute to my sound. Did you hear any intonation issues in my video? I didn’t. True that there’s no notes above 12th fret there, but I did play high when I had the bridge and I personally didn’t hear the slightest intonation problem after I adjusted it. I’ll try to record something when I put it on my new bass. See here we are debating on a potential problem that you think might exist... but which I personally haven’t experienced, having tested the bridge. If I had issues with intonation, I wouldn’t want this bridge, why would I limit half of my bass’ range lol... So to me it’s only gains so far and no negatives, and trust me mate I’m very picky about precision, if there was anything that was bothering me, I would have addressed it. I think it’s my fault that I wasn’t able to show the differences as well as I hear them but let me tell you this - my Ken Smith was nearly a goner before the RR bridge, after I’ve heard it with RR - it’s definitely a keeper. To me that’s a difference significant enough.
  20. Umm... I’m not sure what you mean mate. It feels, seems and sounds quite complete to me, especially after I’ve tried it and have the results recorded. Maybe there would be a benefit from specially designed strings, but that doesn’t make it incomplete. After comparing it to the stock bridge, there’s nothing incomplete about it and I’d never go back to stock, just because I can hear the results quite clearly. But hey, if based on your assumptions, because it doesn’t sound like you’ve actually tried one, you find it incomplete, who am I to argue 😂
