1. Fair point It has all the mountings, but it didn’t come with knobs. It is the 5 pot version, vol / bal / high / low-mid+high mid stacked / low. Also the Z-mode switch and an LED to show battery level on startup.
2.
You're right, of course. I used to copy the entire illicit post and send it back to the perpetrator, so that he/she may compose a PM with the same information. Why don't I do that any more..? There's too many of the blasted things, darn it..! Am I getting slowly more and more grumpy in my advancing years..? Quite likely, but I've less and less time left to do stuff on this planet, so I am beginning to pick and choose. Just for you, and just this once, the offer came from Chris Tommo ... If it was serious enough, you'd have received a PM directly by now, though. Good luck with the sale, however, and thanks for posting.
Thanks a lot for that and of course I do appreciate that the forum needs to be moderated, otherwise it’d be a mess... I hear you about the age/grumpiness ratio (ask my colleagues, they’d have more to say about it 😂)
3.
Offers and trade propositions posted in 'For Sale' ads are systematically deleted. They are to be made by Private Message (PM...) only. Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
I understand it’s the forum rules but maybe leave at least the name of the member when deleting comments? As long as the said rule breaking comment isn’t displayed anymore, it’s not gonna hurt and I’d be able to actually contact the guy and discuss whatever he’s got to offer.
4. Bump! Now £110, would still consider trades with cash adjustments either way or could include the Aguilar 5 pickups I’ve got for sale on here for something more expensive.
5.
Would you sell the rosewood neck separately? If so, how much? Cheers
Only if someone wants to buy the bass without it, which I highly doubt. Bump!
6. Will accept trades for an Aguilar, John East or another on board preamp
7. Hi guys, I’ve got the above preamp which is lovely (5 star reviews everywhere), has a vol/low mid/hi mid/high/bal configuration. It is a very transparent preamp which is amazing if you want to hear the real tone of your instrument. However I want to try something different in my MTD Kingston bass so I am after a trade for a John East or Aguilar. If one comes up for sale here I’d be willing to sell this one, otherwise I’m more after a trade. Edit: I’ve now found myself another preamp, would still consider a trade but this is now available for sale - £120 posted. Based in West London.
8. Bump! I'll take £150 posted. These are awesome pickups, staggered pole pieces - forget about uneven string volume!
9. Bump! I might be interested in a trade for a good fretless. Pentabuzz, Roscoe, Zon, try me.
10. I used two Midgets for a year, done 2-3 gigs with one per week and 1 per month with both. In my opinion they’re better than your average cab but I like more aggressive, punchy and focused sound. I found them to be very neutral Cabs. So I switched to Bergantino AE210 and I’m happier. Better low mids, better highs (for my taste). Also the Bergs can handle more power before starting to distort audibly. Which is strange as they’re rated at 400 watt and the Barefaced site says 150-600w for the midget, I guess that’s RMS and peak values. Have also tried the 2x12 plus tweeter (don’t remeber the model) on a gig but for my liking it was lacking low mid and midrange. The sound was too heavy and slow, not defined and focused enough. Wouldn’t go back to them but again - everyone’s sound preferences are different. I am an aggressive player and like to be audible in the mix. For someone who likes to just add the low frequencies to the band mix, they should be more than suitable, also very light and compact and so on. Have played with one midget on a small local festival where the stage was big enough and the cymbals weren’t in my ear and it was loud enough.
11. Bump! Had a few very interesting trade offers but nothing definite yet so in the mean time - up ya go!
12. Bump! This bass is now £400 since I’ve pit back the original pickups but you still get the benefit of upgraded tuners, fretwork and the modded pickup pole pieces that made a massive difference in string to string volume balance. I’ve now got a KSD flying my way from the US so not interested in a trade anymore unless it’s any quality 5 string fretless.
13. I think I’ve taken this video with the original pickups https://www.facebook.com/steffmarinov/videos/10213726757831145/ Nope playing it right (see what I did there? 😂) but Facebook shows it the other way around.
