Bass player Francis Rocco Prestia certainly stands among an exclusive list of legendary bottom dwellers. For over 40 years now Rocco's bass has been underpinning the groove for Californian funk legends Tower of Power. In that time, Rocco has defined his own style and become synonymous with the much-imitated 'Finger Style Funk' that he pioneered back in the '60s and '70s. Now TC Electronics and Rocco have joined forces to make Staccato'51—a custom-tuned version of the RH450 that's been made to Rocco's exact specification and ear. It may look like the RH450 bass head, but the sound design is completely different and meets the demands of a legend like Rocco Prestia—both on stage and in the studio. Rocco's sound design on Staccato'51 bass head fits his legendary finger-muting technique like a glove. The full-bodied tone with plenty of highs and lows, and the ultra fast precision response enhances the percussive elements of Rocco's playing to perfection. In addition to the sheer tone shaping, Rocco has added a touch of SpectraComp per-string compression to tighten the sound even more. And finally a touch of TubeTone brings out the growl of Staccato'51 when really digging into those low-end notes with his powerful right hand technique. Staccato'51 bass amp head was created by combining the unique 'Bass Amp 2.0' capabilities of the RH450 and Rocco's decades of experience as a true bass legend. The end result is the culmination of countless hours of fine tuning and testing and touring, to present an amp head of considerable power and distinguished Rocco tone. SPECIFICATIONS Staccato'51 Bass Amp Head

Input section:
1/4" Input connector jack
Input impedance 1 mOhm / 100 pF
Gain range -96 to 32dB
Tone control:
Bass Center Freq: 280Hz (range: 71-1120Hz, Gain: +15/-24dB)
Low Mid Center Freq: 400Hz (range: 100-1600Hz, Gain: +15/-24dB)
High Mid Center Freq: 800Hz (range: 200-3150Hz, Gain: +15/-24dB)
Treble Center Freq: 1600Hz (range: 400-6300Hz, Gain: +12/-24dB)
Tube Tone 0 to12, Tube amp Recreation
Spectra Comp 3 band Spectral Compression
Preset Level -12 dB to 0 gain attenuation
Three User Memory locations storing all front panel controls except Mute and Master Level
Tuner
Tuning range Chromatic, constant on A0 (27.50Hz) to E5 (659.26Hz)
Mute Mutes speaker out, Phones out and Balanced out
Master Level Headphone Output Studio quality headphone amp
Impedance 40 to 600 Ohm
Mains supply Universal 100 - 240V 50/60Hz (80w @ 1/8 Power)
Speaker out Combined Speakon / 1/4" jack
Power rating 450w (800w Peak)
Balanced output Transformer Balanced XLR, Pre/Post Pre-amp
Max. I'm putting up for sale my recently acquired Warwick Thumb NT 4. It was created in 2002 and is a joy to play. The neck is silky smooth and amongst the slimmest I have played. It has a nice low action and I have had a new, brass Just-a-nut fitted. The frets are in perfect condition, the truss-rod works easily and the only very slight mark appears to be a tiny 'thumb-nail' mark just in front of the neck pick-up - impossible to photograph. The bass has had a recent, professional set-up, new strings etc. It has a new John East U-Retro 01 pre-amp along with a set of new Bartolini 9CBJD Pickups. Combined these make the Thumb sing providing a broad tonal range - there is a volume and pick-up blend, bass/treble with a bright push/pull and a middle frequency with boost/cut control. The sound is a huge upgrade to the standard MEC set-up. A Warwick Flight Case is included, Truss Rod key and Warwick Wax are included in the case.

The exotic regions of sunny Mancunia and the Shires of Warwick met to exchange a lump of Markbass cab for a wedge of folding money - fair swop and Martin is a thoroughly decent chap into the bargain

Bought Pete's Warwick Thumb bass - what a nice guy to deal with! Straightforward transaction and the bass arrived in mint condition. Don't worry, Pete, it's in good hands and is settling in well Thanks.

Just completed a nice trade with Steve. Great guy to deal with, good comms and very easy trade. Deal with confidence. I think next time I'll combine a holiday in Greece when making a trade with Steve - much better than relying on couriers

In the midst of my general gear clearout - preceding a house move - here is a mint Markbass TRV 102P 8ohm bass cab, with a brand new, original Markbass padded cab cover. The cab has never left the house and only used at very low volumes. Super tone and handles a 5 string bass really well. I do have the original box for shipping, so it will be well protected. I'm asking £290 for the cab and cover with shipping extra. An extremely rare bass I picked up in a recent deal. It has to be one of the best sounding and most easily playable five string I've played in a long time. The Kubicki electronics really make this a very versatile bass, giving you loads of tonal options. The neck profile is nice and shallow and just feels 'right' as soon as you pick it up. Having said all of that, I really, really, prefer a much smaller bodied bass e.g.. Warwick or Spector and so...

Just sold my Aguilar SL112 cab to Jean Marie. Superb guy and great to deal with. Highly recommended.

"Sleek, Slender and Seductive..." according to one reviewer! I've come to the conclusion that I am not really a Fender guy and much prefer a smaller body bass. This bass was bought at the beginning of December 2014. It is very light, resonant and gives you all those typical jazz tones you know and love I have only used this bass at home a few times and, as such, it is in absolutely mint condition. It has new, 40 - 100 D'Addario strings, padded gig bag (not normally supplied with the bass) and I can supply the appropriate Fender tools - although, again they do not normally come with this bass.

Silky, smooth transaction with Ed - I traded my Aguilar TH500 for a wedge of folding money Super guy to deal with. Cheers!
