2. Rethink of my rig requirements after the weekend so putting these two superb cabs up for sale. I've only had the cabs a few weeks and they have only been used for a couple of rehearsals. I bought custom made covers - thickly padded - which fit perfectly. These are £434 each (without covers) from Thomann - covers cost £70 for the pair. I'm asking, for a quick sale, £700 for the pair plus covers. iBass
I've just had an email informing me that iBass is now available on Android: https://play.google....b.deabdfaadcccb I presume this is just the app to subscribe to the mag? If so anyone know what the subs are, and more importantly, is it worth it? I seem to recall they had some problems a while back. I hope all's fine now.
AS far as I can tell, you get the app (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/ibass-magazine-bass-guitar/id571010369?mt=8) and then can buy various back and current issues as the desire suits. Much better than paying a subscription and receiving 12 months of articles and adverts (roughly weighted 40/60) with quite a lot of content you're not particularly interested in. I wholeheartedly support the iBass approach, which allows you to choose what it is you want to read - more or less I stopped subscribing to a certain well known bass mag purely because I felt the content had a rather limited focus, reviews were all full of platitudes and paragraphs extolling the virtues of a certain bit of gear and then, lo and behold, a full or half page advert for said bit of gear. I know mags need advertising to exist but honesty and integrity should be the mainstay of the mags content. Sorry, off my soapbox now...
5. Bought this but then decided to buy a dedicated foot switch for my amp. Great pedal, no batteries required.
6. A very sad move but this recent purchase is looking for a new home. Everything about the Sei is gorgeous, it's light, beautifully balanced, sounds to dream of, slim neck profile but, and here's the major problem for me, a 6 string has too broad a fingerboard width for me!
7. A little demo from BC's very own Mr V: http://www.iguitarmag.com/magazine-editions/guitar-interactive-issue-13/reviews/ebs-reidmar-250-d-class-head-ebs-classic-line-cl112-cabinets/ BTW the amp is still available
8.
have you?
Yep, http://basschat.co.uk/topic/236985-fs-ebs-reidmar-head-l295/
9. The ultra-compact PUMA amps fascinate by their power, punch and drive. You will experience every detail of your playing in a totally new and distinct way – completely unaltered but with lots of punch, just the way you like it. The well-balanced four-band tone control suits all musical styles with a perfect sound. The “TASTE” control allows you to emphasise the tonal characteristics of your instrument – everything between a wiry mid-boost, a bold slap and an ultra-fat Reggae or Motown sound. Jacks for FX loop, Tuner Out, Line Out, Line In and a pre/post switchable DI Out lets you connect PUMA to the outside world. PUMA amps are ideal for travelling around the world due to their voltage switch which allows them to be operateded at 230 or 115 volts 50 – 60 Hz. A great new feature for late night practicing is the Aux In jack, where you can connect your mp3 player and jam along to your favorite tunes with your headphones. You don‘t even have to connect a cabinet. It‘s never been easier...

SOLD

. This Recurve was born in March 2010 in Scotland
11. This was bought as my back-up amp. Really impressive amp head with all the typical EBS sounds and quality. Amazingly loud with a versatile EQ. I have used this amp once for approximately forty minutes. It's in perfect condition and looks showroom fresh What EBS say: THE EBS REIDMAR IS THE FIRST LIGHT-WEIGHT BASS HEAD FROM EBS PROFESSIONAL BASS EQUIPMENT. A LIGHT-WEIGHT BASS AMP THAT CHALLENGES ANY HEAVY-WEIGHT BOUTIQUE AMP IN TONAL QUALITIES. THE REIDMAR TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF EBS FAMED ANALOG PREAMP TECHNIQUE COMBINED WITH A CLASS-D POWER AMP.
12. Super easy deal with Gilles. Pedal arrived promptly and well packed. Cheers.
13. I think the whole thing about 'high-end' basses is extremely subjective. I suppose there is a certain 'age' aspect to the issue - similar to middle-aged men driving sports cars and then going to the physio later after they've ricked their back getting in and out of the car! Some folk will buy a bass simply because the player they admire uses one e.g. Wooten and Fodera, Squire and R (can't say the whole word ). If it's purchasing an expensive bass simply to let people know you have an expensive bass so what - although I can't see the point. However, if you can ignore the price tag and simply play the bass and it feels and sounds right then the price tag is incidental - providing you have sufficient funds to buy the bass in the first place. Just because somebody says a certain bass is high end, or a high profile player uses one, it doesn't make that bass any better than any other bass. Sometimes I think the best way to choose/buy a bass is to go into a completely dark room, play as many basses as you can and purchase based purely on feel and sound. Then switch the light on and pay the price. Simple...
14.
Send them a PM advising that you feel they should have responded by now then give them a reasonable amount of time (say 48 hours?) before re-advertising the item for sale
Good advice. However, you might want to re-advertise but state that someone has shown an interest and they have first call but you are happy to take offers should the original deal fall through.
15. Continuing my general sort out and rearrangement of my effects, I have the superb Lehle Basswitch available. I bought this recently for use in my home studio but, to be honest, it is really best for live work. Below is a review of the unit and a YouTube link. A really great piece of kit that requires a good home. Comes with the manual, carry case etc.
16.
AFAIK there is still at least one Letts thread running in the Affiliates section. The other thread here was just starting to look like a man in the stocks being pelted with rotten fruit. The right decision was made IMHO.
Totally agree. Whilst I agree that it is only right and proper to share concerns and alert fellow BC members to the situation you only need a few comments to make the point. The endless and repetitive negative comments do little to alleviate the situation - a bit like continuing to hammer home the point when the nail has long since disappeared. Letts have personal issues - OK, but they are now a company with all their details available through Comany's House. Deal direct with the company, get things in writing, involve a solicitor in necessary but continually adding comments to a thread is doing nothing whatsoever to find some resolution to the problem. BC is a great forum for alerting members' to both good and bad companies and products. Letts now have a long way to go to repair their reputation and, obviously, many BC'ers will not be ordering a bass from them in the foreseeable future, which may be quite a good thing allowing Letts to get on with their back orders.
17. I have had several covers made for me by Jenart. Each and every time has been an easy and straightforward deal. The onus is on you to make certain that your measurements are correct (the old adage, measurement twice cut once) but in every instance Chris at Jenart has been really helpful, offering advice where necessary and always providing a top notch service. I can't fault the company or their products, particularly when you see some of the absolutely ridiculous prices charged by brands such as Markbass, Aguilar etc, for products that are in most respects inferior to what Jenart produce. The only downside is that you don't get the brand logo of your particular amp/cab stencilled onto the cover - what a shame
18. Hmm, how about something a little esoteric as in a 'Volute' of bass players? Or a 'Bridge', 'a saddle of...' or given the sheer amount of gear shifted over the years, how about a 'Truss (rod) of bass players'?
19. Details: TC Electronic Nova Modulator houses two brand new effects plus all of TC’s acclaimed modulation effects, and its dual engine design allows for endless combinations to inspire creativity. Nova Modulator offers seven studio quality modulation effects; chorus, the new tri-chorus, flanger, the new through-zero-flanger, phaser, tremolo, and an upgraded vibrato. The chorus, flanger, phaser, and tremolo effects are taken straight from TC’s acclaimed G-System. The new tri-chorus effect uses three stereo choruses with various offsets for depth, speed, phaser and chorus delay time to produce a unique, broad and lush chorus sound. The new through-zero-flanger reproduces the classic tape flanging sounds of the 60s and 70s, and the upgraded vibrato features a new ramp that allows the user to fade in the effect. The two identical effect engines allow the user to combine two different modulation effects or to combine two identical algorithms for a more extreme and pronounced effect. The LFO synchronization ensures that the two engines are synchronized in time, and the new LFO trigger makes the effect start right on the beat when activating the pedal. For preset control there is one manual setting that always outputs the current position of the knobs and buttons, as well as nine storable presets. Other great Nova Modulation features include tap tempo, auto input gain adjustment and stereo in/out. 20. A very poor showing on Roqsolid's part. I have to agree with some of the above comments that their covers are very, very basic and do little more than keep off the dust and a spot or two of rain. I always use Jenart (http://www.jenart.com/frames.html). Chris at Jenart is a super guy and his prices are really competitive. For example, approx £25 for a Markbass CMD121P combo cover 20mm padding. Jenart have made quite a few covers for me - usually from my measurements, always to the agreed spec and I have never had an issue of any kind. Usually a quick turnaround and the covers have always fitted first time. I can't recommend the enough. No, I'm not on commission
21. I now have a hard case (Hiscox) for the Probass should that be preferable to a gig bag.
22. Price drop to £850 or very near offer. It's in the first post written in purple ;0)))
23. Something for the weekend? Now £750 !!
